3.722oz bottle from Keith. Rating #153. Thick, inky black color with a nice tan head. Nice intense dark roast, not really roasty, but just dark, dark fruits and really aromatic. Flavor is bitter roast and with a hint of sour roast, not nearly as nice as the aroma. (2750)
3.2Thanks Dakine. Deep black pour with a mocha head. Head is way too much. Aroma is roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt, bitter in a bad way, chalky, and thin for an imperial.
4.022oz bottle, new label, thanks to a great trader. pours a silky, thick black capped by a massive (strangely large, actually), rocky head of dark khaki foam that quickly dissipates into tight rings of lace. aroma is great with rich, heavy roasted malts, black licorice, ash, and toasted marshmallows backed by subtle notes of tar, vinyl, and baker’s chocolate. flavor is delicious as well with rich, roasted malts, dark chocolate, raisins, and prunes backed by licorice candy, toffee, berry skins, and just a hint of peat smoke. palate is full bodied and creamy owing to the dense carbonation and finishes with a heavy handed dose of roasted black malts. overall, a deliciously intense imperial stout.
3.8Bottle brought to me directly from the desert by Jon - thanks! Dark pour with off white head - not thick, but not watery either. Nose is dark fruit and roasted malt. A great combination of bitter chocolate with a hint of sweetness. I want this in a bourbon barrel - stat!
3.5Bottle at Craft Beer Clerkenwell thanks to Ken, 09/03/13.
Dark black with a thin tan head that clears edgeward leaving a small film.
Nose is dark fruit, toffee, light smoke, molasses, ash.
Taste comprises sweet brown sugars, touch of booze, chocolate, hint of coffee, light soy sauce.
Fullish end of medium bodied with soft carbonation, dryish in the finish.
Ok stuff.

Craft Clerkenwell. Bottle shared. Opaque black - brown beer. Darkish tan head. Palate is light and airy and semi dry. Tangy dark malt, little dark chocolate and traces of coffee and soy. Mild dark fruits blending in with the tang. Very tangy but quite drinkable.
4.2Bottle at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Kenneth. It pours black colour topped by one finger worth of frothy, light brown head. Aroma of roasty and lightly burnt malt, marshmallow, vanilla, licorice, earthy and resinous hops, dark chocolate, dry wood, dark fruit, brandy, subtle alcohol warmth. Flavor is similar, just less intense. Full body, smooth, soft. Overall, very smooth and tasty, loved it.
3.5Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Kenneth. Pours deep black with a staunch, brown cream cap. Sharp dark malt nose, iodine, chocolate syrup. Medium sweet flavor, burnt leaves, some soy sauce, dark cocoa, tangy dark fruits, raisins. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, tangy dark malts, grapes, raisins. Not bad. Some burnt wood. Decent overall.
3.4Vintage 2011 "Dia de los Muertos" bottle on 01/17/13
Pours deep black with a small ring of head. Tastes and smells surprisingly barrel-y. Big oak notes with some vanilla, chocolate and a biscuity presence on the finish. Medium to heavy mouthfeel. Sticky and a bit syrupy. Decent and flavorful but not a whole lot of depth.
3.7This is an ok stout, but not as good as its rating. Overly peaty with crazy licorice. Nice mouthfeel, attractive looking beer with a great amount of sweetness.
3.5Bottle thanks to fata2683: Poured a thick black with brown edges, head is thin and milk chocolate looking. Aroma is thick roasted malts. Taste is rich roasted malts, a light smoke and some bitter chocolate finish.
3.5Bottle; poured a dark brown/black with an average sized lightish brown head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, cocoa, roasted malt, cherries/fruit, cookies, and alcohol. A nice aroma. Flavor wasn’t as good as the aroma, and a bit disappointing. Alot of the same flavors, but something didn’t quite work to make it really good for me.
3.9Bottle from a trade with cbkschubert. Pours black with brown head. Roasted malt and chocolate aromas. Bittersweet milk chocolate and vanilla flavor with dark roasted malts and some espresso. Full body with minimal carbonation and thick and slick mouthfeel. Really nice beer if you like your impy stouts on the sweeter side. Thanks Craig.
4.1Bottle from Total wine Tucson. Pours black with a massive khaki oatmealish head. Very thick, almost viscous. Big malt and roasted notes on the nose. Big molasses and brown sugar notes on the tongue. This stuff lingers awhile. Nice!
3.7Black pour with tan head. Roasty aroma with some coffee and chocolate malts, the taste has some residual sweetness and bitter chocolate. It’s pretty good.
3.7Limited edition label " Dia de los muertos"

4.0Silver and black label, as Sonoran Imperial Stout I#ebr@tor
Jet black colour, firm tan head. Aroma of liquorice, light sour touch, smoke, roasted malts, milk chocolate, quite sweet. Flavour of bitter roasted malts, coffee bitter, quite sweet. Sticky sweet body. Finish bitter roasted malts, dark and milk chocolate, sweetness lingers for a long time.
Very nice, but for me the sticky sweetness of the finish is a bit too much.
(From 65 cL bottle shared @ ZZT IV. Gift from 3frog. Thanks!)
3.2Brewed and bottled by the Pinnacle Peak Patio, this brew pours black with a nice tan head. Aromas of wood, caramel, and vanilla. Roasted notes are lacking compared to the other sweet aromas. Flavor is a little like wet weeds. Disappointed in the lack of roasted and chocolate flavors. I think the hops are not well balanced with the malts. A catty like flavor and sour bitterness in the finish.
3.9Bottle @ZZT IV:
Big brown head which disappears slow, on top of a black colored beer.
Smell liquorice, wood, smoke and earth/
Taste brown sugars, liquorice, some toasted/roasted barley malts, some bitterness but more sweetness.
Aftertaste of roasted barley malts, some sweets, again light bitter with more sweets being present.
Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, full body and a creamy sticky texture.
Not bad, but a bit too sweet.
4.0Draft @ Mellow Mushroom. Pours a midnight black w/ a small, tan head. Big aromas & flavors of chocolate, roasted malts, some hop bitterness & toffee. Creamy mouthfeel. One of the best beers brewed in AZ!
3.3650cl bottle @ ZZT IV. Pitch black opaque color, full sized creamy medium brown colored head. Smell malts, roastyness, coffee, some liquorice, pretty sweet actually. Taste malts, pretty sweet, some roastyness. Oily texture, medium to full body, medium carbo.
3.8Bottle @ ZZT4. Pitch black colour with a brown head. Smells liquorice, chocolate, roasty. Tastes chocolate, roasty, sweet, malty, nice. Full body, great carbo.
3.322oz bottle, thanks to radarsock - didn’t say "inebriator" anywhere on the bottle except for the description on the back. Total black color, with a very big nice brown head. Soft carbonation, more dry texture, big chewy body. Great thick lacing. Bitter taste, and sweetness. Aroma of molasses. Toasted burnt malts, some booze. Hint of chocolate and coffee. Pretty decent and reasonably well-done imperial stout, but I personally don’t care much for molasses-forward sweetness at all. It’s prominent here, but thankfully not so much as to make it too hard to drink. Slightly sticky in the finish.
4.5Thx to nbutler11 (Nick) for sharing this one // 2011 Limited Edition bomber (66 cl. ?) // “Día de los Muertos” themed label // bottle doesn’t actually say Inebriator because of Arizonian law / where he got this – nice little bit of info that I got from Nick // pours black with a small but lovely mocha head // the smell instantly reminds me of chocolate / coffee ice-cream, seems like the possibility that they put Mexican sugar into this is quite high, vanilla, creamy malts, touch sweeter roast, coffee, cream, small touch molasses // smooth, creamy, coffee, vanilla, lightly roasted malts, hint of fruitiness, full mellow chocolate,, brown sugar, inkling of molasses, toffee, smooth, slick, creamy on the touch sweeter side, love impy stouts like this // very desert-like (room temp.)
3.8Really nice sweet aroma. Pours dark black with a small head. Taste isn’t as complex as I was expecting. Decent mouthfeel and dry finish.
4.0(Draught) Pours a black body with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, light ash, and dark chocolate. Flavor of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, some burnt grain, and roasted malt with a dry finish.
4.3Pours a oily pitch black. Nice espresso head that just hangs out. Aromas of roasted malt, dark chocolate, cocoa, cream, a touch of vanilla, dark fruits, a little bit of smoke and coffee. Initial flavor is smooth, velvety and sweet. Roasted flavor upfront with a slight bitter middle and a nice tangy finish. Coffee, roasted malt, cocoa, cream, dark fruits, a sort of cherry tanginess, a touch of alcohol and dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is sticky and a little oily. Overall a very delicious imperial stout. If you can find it, get it.
4.2Bottle thanks to cbkschubert. Pours black with a big brown head that’s quite resilient. Aroma of molasses, coffee, peanuts, roast, and dark fruits. The taste is rich, roasty, and sweet, with a mild but lingering bitterness. Full bodied and really thick, it almost feels chewable. The alcohol is pretty well hidden.
4.2Shared a 22oz bottle into tulip. Thanks ibrew2or3! It poured an opaque black color with big, moussy brown foam, very long lasting with lots of lace. Excellent appearance. Aromas of toast, roasted barley, coffee and cream, semi-sweet chocolate, raisin bread, berries, plums, subtle citrusy hops. Very nice fruity ale yeast esters from the live bottle fermentation. Great caramelly malt sweetness with strong toasty and roasty notes. Tangy, tart, fruity hops balance. Hints of bread, molasses, bourbon, suggestive of peanut butter and chocolate. Medium-heavy body, complex natural carbonation, well-concealed alcohol. Lingering bready and fruity aftertaste. Some past ratings described a butter defect in this beer, but we didn’t sense it at all. A truly delicious Imperial Stout.
