4.0Pour is a hazy honey color with a average white head. Aroma is musty but fruity with some orange peel. Flavor is more fresh off the tree citrus with some sugar with spice and maybe a touch of white pepper. Finish is dry with a nice vanilla left on the tongue. This is one of the better saison’s I’ve had in awhile. Nice yeastiness with a lot of fresh citrus.
3.7Corked bottle from. In trade from BrewtopiaofPJ
. Nice aroma of yeast slight citrus floral and spices. Huge white head of light orangey pour taste has quite a bit going on and it works well together. Yeast soft carbonation, spice, hops, lemon. Niiiice. Thanks Mark
3.7Poured from draft to snifter. Light amber in color, cloudy with specks of sediment. White foam, one finger, thin lacing that clings high. Light citrus on the nose, and super citrus on the tongue. Full bodied and a joy.
4.4750 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 11/13/2014. Pours lightly cloudy golden amber color with a big 3 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with insane retention, that reduces to a thick cap that lasts. Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with tons of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Beautiful looking brew. Aromas of big lemon zest, pear, apple, pepper, clove, wheat, bread, floral, grass, herbal, light funk, and earthy yeast spices. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with some light malt. Taste of lemon zest, pear, apple, pepper, clove, wheat, bread, floral, grass, herbal, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of citrus, light fruit, pepper, clove, wheat, floral, grass, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with a light-moderate malt balance; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. High carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly prickly mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an absolutely incredible saison style. Fantastic balance and compelxity of fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; and extremely smooth and crisp to sip on. One of the best Saisons I have had.
3.675 cl bottle.

Pours golden color with a small head. Aroma of spices, fruits, toffee and ripe fruits. Flavor of toffee, spices, ripe fruits and some yeasty notes. Decent.
2.8750ml corked and caged bottle, dated 10/8/15. Pours hazy and cloudy, gold and orange, with a small frothy white head. Aromas of dusty citrus and hay, slightly tart fruit juice and lemon, cherry, and white grape/Chardonnay. Flavor is grape juice and white wine, tart juice and citrus, with sweeter, almost bock-ish malt flooding in. No carbonation. Flat as shit, with medium body, giving a highly unpleasant mouthfeel. I really wanted to like this, but this bottle was way off, and very disappointing. [1135]
3.975 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Konttori. Rated on 05.03.2010
Aroma has yeasty notes, fruits and hints of banana esthers. Flavour is somewhat fruity with yeasty notes, some caramel and floral notes. An American saison without the farmhouse character and actually rather close to the Belgian ones. Refreshing and nice, way too much CO2 on palate though.
3.4Bottle shared at Mikey’s Christmas party, thanks
Appearance: Hazy golden with a big white head and some lacing
Aroma: Sweet caramel and fruity
Taste: Sweet candy, spices, grainy and peppery
Decent.
3.8750 ml bottle shared by Del I think. Was it Mark? Anyway, at the Christmas tasting. Pours a clear golden color with a large white head. A sweet nose of caramel and floral hops. A bit of alcohol, fluffy, pepper, sweet light caramel and candies. Good. Very smooth and clean.
3.8Bottle. Lightly hazy yellow-orange with a fizzier white head. Nice spice, citrus, touch of wheat, and fruity aromas. Some slight sour hay notes, slightly sweet lemon, spicy, some floral and vanilla notes. Lighter body with bright carbonation.
3.6a solid saison with an almost belgian ale backbone. a little too sweet, but otherwise very well done.
3.9Pours golden yellow with big white head. Smells very fresh with wheat, fruit, flowers, some earth and funk too. Taste has wheat body, spice, fruity hops, and light interesting funk. Med-full bodied. Prolonged and slightly sticky after taste. Balanced.
3.7(750ml bottle from blklab2007). Pours hazy golden color with massive white head. Active carbonation. Aroma is belgian yeast, candied sugar, lemon and some pepper. Taste is sweet. Meesium bodied with a syrup quality. A nice beer, but much too sweet for a saison.
3.8750 mL bottle as pictured. Pours a hazy gradient yellow/orange with lots of bubbles and a white head. Smells very lemony. Spicy taste and a very light mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
3.4750ml bottle. This is a sweet saison, the pila malt is the dominating flavor. Touch of spice, some buttery notes are present and it is distracting. Not a bad beer but not very interesting.
3.7Been sitting on this bottle perhaps a bit too long but still very good. Taste is spicy and crisp with nice floral and spice elements. Light lemony esters and a bit of cardboard but still drinkable.
3.7750 ml bomber, the best base saison, very carbonated and crisp, This might be a little past cause it tastes a little cardboardy but it is so crisp and delicious. I am pretty delirious. AH FACK.
3.7Pour is hazy yellow with white head, aroma has notes of biscuit, fruity lemon, some grape notes as well, hints of biscuit, grass and a touch of honey. Taste is really nice and refreshing with notes of pleasant grass, biscuit and honey, some nice fruity notes and spice complementing each other, finishing fairly dry and spicy.
4.2750 ml bottle. Deep, cloudy, glowing golden with a fine, thick head.
Lovely. Spicy, mineral aroma, lemons, yeasty and fragrant. Flavor is creamy, fruity (lemons, white grapes), spicy, lot of yeast character, minerals, very dry, especially in the finish, with good bitterness as well. Restrained fruity sweetness. A bit too much alc9oholo showing in the finish. Resembles a Dupont more than any non-Belgian saison I have had. Wonderful.
3.9Refreshing and crisp. No heavy hops here. Stone fruits - peaches or apricots. Not as carbonated as I would have expected.
3.8Corked and caged. Pours a hazy orange with a giant head that takes forever to allow a full pour and settles to nice lace. Aroma of hay, cantaloupe, grapefruit, and yeast. Bready, softly sweet and sugary flavor with essence of lemon, light yeast and earthiness. A bit aggressive in carbonation, but a very enjoyable beer.
4.1The color is a gold with lacy foam. The aroma is doughy, biscuity but floral. the initial taste was sour and caught me off guard, but sweeter malty notes settle in after a few sips. The finish is crisp and mouthwatering with twinges of sourness remaining. Interesting flavors. Great brew!
3.8Appearance: cloudy light orangey gold, huge fluffy white head, great beading of carbonation jets and good lacing. Aroma: sweet, spicy, yeasty, herbal, with the expected gentle funk. Taste: citrus (lemon) over saltine crackers, with notes of white pepper, grass, and dandelions, with a hint of sweet-tart candies and funk. Finish: very crisp, lightly bitter, a little bready, and with a hint of herbal funk. Notes: A prototypical saison, meaning this is an excellent beer. I expect no less from Southampton, which seems to excel at farmhouse style ales. This one had a very lively palate, and the alcohol is nicely hidden.
4.2Bottle at le mondiale 2011. Great funky, peppery, citric aroma. Lots of nice grassy, hay hopiness. Great carbonation, lively and light. Light bitter finish. Great sour, funky finish, world class saison.
4.3drank at mondial 2011 in mtl. pours bright golden, slight haze, with a towering white head, excellent retention and lacing. aroma is apple, yeast, pear, lemony. taste is honeyed malts, lemon tartness, alcohol, hint of caramel malts (shockingly with this pale blond), oaky, medium citrusy hopping, and some herbalness. very lively, microbubbly, foamy, liquid is still somewhat light bodied.
3.5Bottle picked up a State Line in Maryland. Currently the #6 saison. Served in a Mikasa tulip.
Pours a mostly-clear golden color with a thick white head that lasts for a long, long time and leaves quite a bit of lacing on the sides of the glass. The nose carries some light bread and a mild earthy presence. Some floral character as well. The flavor brings saison yeast to the forefront, though it isn’t overpowering. Some light bready malt behind that. Mild bitterness and dryness in the finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Really nice overall.

3.84 oz pour from bottle at Mondial 2011. Clear pale gold pour with abundant white head. Aroma is yeasty, lots of belgian spicyness, american hops and fresh bread. Taste is also quite spicey, crisp grain flavors, bitter finish. Tasty very american saison.
Hazy straw with a thin white head with great retention. Aroma is sweet malt, slightly acidic notes, alcohol, yeast, floral and herbal notes. Flavor is alcohol, sweet pale malt, sugar (a bit cloying) yeast (mushroom), floral notes and a moderately bitter finish. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Could use a tad more attenuation. A good saison but the Saison Faucille is much better.
4.1Straw gold with frothy white head and lace. Aroma of straw, light brown sugar, and yeast. Flavor is light brown sugar, hay, yeastiness, and bread. Medium body with nice fizzy carbonation. Very nice.
