3.8 Pours a nice deep amber color with white head. Light fruits, some pine, and a bit of citrus on the nose; follows onto the palate. One of their better beers. Enjoyable.
4.1 Smell of pine and fruit, appearance is amber with white head, taste is fruit malt and slight bitter finish.
3.3 Had at Foamfest in Fayetteville. Very nice beer. Pours amber orange. Pine and citrus. Some caramel. Smooth nice beer.
3.5 5/1/2014. From can. Amber color with a white head. Pine, citrus, caramel aromas with hoppy flavors. Bitter finish with a nice hop balance.
3.6 16oz Can. Pours a hazy copper color with a fluffy head that fades to good lacing. Aroma of pine, little citrus and fruit with a bit of malt sweetness. Taste of pine with fruit and easy malt sweetness. Nice bitterness and a bit of malt in the finish. Medium body smooth and well balanced. Nie Pale Ale that goes down easy. worth checking out.
3.7 Canned: unk Hazy copper with a persistent sheet of white. Smells plenty malty, sweet with crystal malts, a little pine hop character. Flavor is nicely bitter, but well balanced with the malts. Full bodied with subdued carb and a wet finsh. Very drinkable beer. Best I’ve had in this Texas gift pack my sister gave me.
3.9 Hazy and amber-brown in color with a nice head that lasted and left good lacing. Smells of piney grapefruit, hops, slightly fruity, and a little earthy. Tastes of caramel malts, pine, grapefruit, citrus, a bit of sweetness, and an earthy bitterness. Lingering slightly sweet bitterness helps define this nice, medium bodied beer. I’d certainly like to have it again, very smooth and flavorful, easy to drink, and comes in cans. Nice job on this one.
3.4 Pours a murky golden-copper color with a sudsy, off white head. Grassy, piny, grapefruity nose. Full body with a powdery texture and some mild scrubbing peppers the surface of the tongue. A roasted malt provides structure to a more subdued--given the bouquet--grass and citrus hops.
3.4 Poured an amber color from a can at the Brass Tap, had aromas of pine, grapefruit, and some malt. Flavors were light grapefruit, and tons of pine, decent beer overall.
4.3 Can poured a hazy orange hue w/ large frothy head and nice lacing. Big piney and citrusy aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a bold bitter finish of lasting duration. Tastes are pine, grapefruit, lemon, and straw. Big bodied, creamy mouthfeel, crisp finish.
4.3 Hands down one of my favorites. I’m a huge fan of almost everything Southern Star puts out, but once I found Pine Belt, I fell in love. Crisp, a little sweet with an IBU almost as high as an IPA. Nothing beats tossing back one or two of these right at the brewery on Saturdays.
3.7 Hazy dark orange body under an average sized off-white head. Juicy malt and citrus hop aroma. The flavor starts sweet with the bitterness kicking in immediately as it heads to a dry finish. Almost IPA territory here.
3.4 Can Appearance: Cloudy amber with nice foamy white head Aroma: dark bread Taste: Bready malts, Palate: Fairly bitter up front, but finishes smooth with a good malt backbone. Fairly lively mouthfeel Overall: A bit heavy, good drinking. Good taste
3.5 Bob picked this up in Charleston, it was a very nice find! Light orange, very very hazy. (clarity is overrated, see above) Thick off white head. Grapefruit and pine nose. Slight hop bite up front, nice.
3.2 Chattanooga. Tn. - Riverside Wine & Spirits - 16 oz can. Pours a murky dark orange with a soft white head that clings to the edges. Aroma has some candied fruit sweetness, a touch of pine. Flavor has some caramel accents, some underlying light citrus bitterness, a touch of white grapes. Mouthfeel has a decent stickiness to it. Decent.
3.3 hazy amber, white head that settles fairly quickly with some lacing. caramel, tangerine, pine, pineapple, bread. medium bitter, light sweet. light body, thin feel. aroma would do better with a little more malt backbone, but it’s otherwise enjoyable.
3.9 A pretty nice pale ale. Hops define this beer. Not too astringent and very piney. Kind of a one trick pony. Bought this in Houston in 2013.
3.5 Can from whole foods Chattanooga - pours hazy orange with a white head. Aroma is big piney hops. Taste is bitter with a watery palate that reads very thin. Overall, solid, flavorful brew.
3.8 Can from whole foods Chattanooga. Pours apricot with an inch of white foam. Massive pine on the nose. The Pine is pretty forward on the tongue and it lingers a bit. It’s got some stank to it. I like it.
3.7 Hazy Dark Orange, Huge Foamy Head, Lots Of Lacing. Pine Aroma. Tastes Pine, Hops, Citrus, sweet watery finish. Decent Bitter Aftertaste. Thin Body. Tasty, Refreshing. Nice.
3.4 Big can. Looks pale/amber. Aroma of a good amount of floral and lightly citrusy hops plus a little bit of pale malts. Flavor the same with a good amount of hops for a pale ale. Average texture. A decent beer.
3.9 Heyyy, a little bit of Texas made available in Chicago! Can’t complain. Has a great, piney aroma true to the name, with some good zesty citrus and bitter hops to seal the deal. Solid!
3.5 Now this is a sweet pale ale hat satisfies. The lack of filtering helps to prevent the lack of flavor so common in other pales that try to balance their hoppy bitterness with malty sweet. This achieves well with a beautiful pour into the glass and a thick malty head. Definitely floral forward, the hops are pleasantly present and song of spring
3.4 Hazy orange copper pour. Medium off white head with mild lacing. Aroma is pretty heavy on pine aroma. Malt sweetness is fairly noticeable in the aroma as well. Flavors aren't quite as pronounced. Still on the piney side with reasonable malt backbone. ---Rated via iPhone
3.2 Draught. Pours an amber color with a moderate white head. Nose is just a little bit hoppy (as is the taste), and ends up being an OK beer. Nothing special, but decent.
3.8 Can: Pours very cloudy orange-brown with a craggy, tan head. Scent is very bright pine....spicy citrus... maybe a little sharp coconut/pineapple? Nice, creamy soft, buttery bitter. Very smooth.... Quite tasty.
3.5 Sweet pine and citrus aroma, brownish gold pour. Toasty crystal flavor with citrusy to pine hop that gets a bit sharp at the end but is not rough. Very drinkable. Relatively simple palate on first glance but hop and toasted malt characters give this some intrigue. Would buy again. Up near some of the better IPAs.
3.9 16oz can poured into a shaker. Pours a clear, dark burnt orange with a half finger of thick white head. Aroma of sweet citrus and pine with a good dose of caramel. Taste is light bitter. Dank pine and citrus hops with some grapefruit and caramel. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin texture. Lively carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, pretty good. I would gladly drink this again.
3.6 The aroma is a strong pine fragrance. Pours a hazzy amber with a frothy dissapating white head and nice lacing. The taste is citrusy/piney/hoppy flavor initially followed by a bready finish and grainy aftertaste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, I liked this beer. A good summer time brew.
4.1 had at the yagas chilli beer fest. also remember when this first came out. extremely nice aggressive pale
