2.8 Rated on 12-31-2009 (Bottle) This beer forms a small white head with a short retention, transparent pale yellow body. The Aroma is wheat, citrus hops, and fruity. The Taste is malty, wheat and hint of citrus hops. The Palate is lightly bubbly and this beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, I did not care for the flavor of this beer as the flavors just did not join together very well. This beer lacks character and had no WOW factor for me. It is not a "bad" beer. I simply was not impressed with the flavor.
3.2 Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: 16-oz. glass From: Eddy’s Beverage Inc. in Saratoga, N.Y. Price: $15.99 for a variety 12-pack Purchased: Jan. 15, 2014 Consumed: Jan. 16, 2014 Misc.: DOB on Aug. 30, 2013 Poured a golden straw hazy color with 3-to-4 fingers of frothy white head. Minimal lacing on the sides. Minimal retention. Smelled corn, honey, grass, sour fruit, cereal and hay. Tasted similar to the nose. Honey, lemon grass, cereal, hay, citrus hops and floral hops. Light body. Thin texture. Average carbonation. Long, clean finish. Nothing too special about this beer. Had plenty of ones like this before.
No me convence.
2.9 Yellow pour, white head. Nose is bready and some citrus hop. Taste is crisp bread, wheat, mild bitter finish.
3.0 12oz bottle - nose is bread with grass clippings. Slight citrus presence. Easy to drink though there a slight cardboard aftertaste. Not a beer to have after shoveling yet more snow. Gets better as it warms. I would drink a Blue Moon over this.
2.7 5/14/2011. From bottle. Southern Tier makes a lot of excellent brews, but this is not one of them. Cloudy pale yellow with a white head. Wheat, light malt and spicy flavors.
2.7 average frothy, white head. fair lacing. mostly diminishing. clear sparkling light yellow thin body. aroma: honey, cereal. if: light bitter sweet. ff: moderate bitter light sweet; average duration. palate: medium body, thin feel, lively, metallic finish. quite ordinary, dull, reminded me of a pale lager, being a little more bodied. 6s
3.4 Light hazy colored. Malty smelling. Not much after taste and leaves palate slightly dry. Basic ale taste and not much of the wheat flavor.
2.5 i don’t get much more than an overwhelming, heavy wheat flavor - hay, slight malt. Not well composed in my opinon. Far better wheat ales out there.
3.3 Bottle. Nose a lightly sour, mildly hoppy mess, some sweetness with vanilla and wheat. Pours hazy pale yellow with a rocky bright white head and lace. Light medium body is very soft with lots of wheat and a nice wheat resolution, there’s strong and filling carbonation with a low-light of light grain. Fresh with some fruitiness from the hops, would probably be a very good beer for the height of summer, still works well even now as a refreshing American Wheat, a terribly conceived style that nonetheless occasionally produces good beers (like this one).
2.7 Bottle, 33 cl. Light hazy yellow with a small, but lively, bubbly white head. Aroma is kinda subdued with light grain, hay, light citrus, dough, fragant yeasty notes. Watery and light, rather sweet, very light bitter. Not very interesting
3.0 Bottle. Poured clean, with a golden yellow color and a small, lacing off-white foam. Corn and honey in the nose. Fairly simple aroma, mostly malty, with hints of honey, bread, and perhaps a bit of lime. Smooth on the palate, with medium dense body and lively carbonation. Simple, basic, but refreshing, very summerish. If that’s what it is meant to be, then great, but otherwise a basic ale. Nothing is really wrong here, but seriously lacking character.
2.4 Bottle. Golden colour with a white head with short duration. Aroma is light malty with citrus notes. Flavor is light malty, slightly bittery with citrus hints. Short final.
2.5 Pours yellow. Aroma is spicy yeast and some malted wheat. Flavor is mild wheat ale with a very tame hop presence. Good but too light all around for my taste. Still not bad.
2.8 Biscuity nose with a hint of lemon. Pours a pale straw gold with a quickly thinning pure white head. Flavour is a bit nothingy in a lot of ways - slight wheaty tang and a slight sharpish, back of the throat finish, more cereal and citrus notes throughout but all told a little bit of a lame duck this.
2.4 Cloudy yellow.....thick white head. Wheat, orange aroma. Taste is grainy...citrus, slightly bitter lemon....moderate herbal bitter. No sweetness at all.... Very plain and generic...
2.7 35.5cl bottle. Appearance is quite simple: golden with small white frothy head, there’s not much to say. Aroma is wheat, cereals, and caramel, more complex than expected. The flavour is mostly banana, toffee and hops. Palate: sweet and dry. Light body, soft carbonation. Drinkable, would be better with less sweetness though.
2.9 Bottle. Pours a foggy golden color with a thin head. Strong wheat presence with a slight sense of hops. Tastes like a hoppy wheat but not really that great of a combo. Probably the most disappointing Southern Tier beer I have had.
3.0 Nice summer beer. Pours hazy pale yellow with a thin head. The aroma is bread with a bit of lemon. The lemon is more evident in the taste. Refreshing and light, finishes dry and crisp.
2.5 Bottle. Clear light yellow pour with a small soapy head. Nose is grain husk and lemon zest. Palate is a bit thin. Taste is mild grassy hops, with light citrus notes.
3.4 Bottle. Golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is lightly dry and yeasty, and the flavour has good bitter and dryness with yeasty notes. Overall a fairly average beer, quite strongly flavoured.
2.9 Laaaaaaaaaaaame. Just lightly malty with some bitterness, its kinda lame, doesn’t reall do it and not refreshing
3.4 From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. The pour is an unfiltered, hazy pale yellow with a tremendous puffy white head that slowly dissolves. The aroma has wheat as promised along with breaded malts, butter, and some citrus. The body is light to just about medium. The taste has a decent dose of pale malts, breaded malts, wheat, and a clean mellow hop finish. Very likable.
3.3 From a bottle. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Tastes like soft, mellow, creamy citrus, wheat, and malt. Light body and medium carbonation. Smells like malt, citrus, and fermentation.
3.2 Bottle. Pours lightly hazy golden amber with thin, creamy white head. Aroma is biscuit and cereal malts, grassy notes, fresh herbs, and light citrus. Flavor is dry malts, grassy hop bitterness, and light fruit esters; dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
2.6 Poured a hazy orange/yellow with a frothy white head. Aroma of zesty citrus. Medium body, flavour is an average wheat beer.
2.5 Date tasted: July 5, 2013... Glassware: weizen glass... Occasion: tasting Orioles late-game defeat--blown save #6 for JJ....Appearance: golden, hazy pilsner-type body with a pleasant white head that clouds slightly along the glass... Aroma: tart pungent, skunkish doughy malts/yeasts--too old? no light wheat is present... Palate: flattened, smooth base that is drinkable but not vivid or appealing... Taste: a tart acidity claws at the beer’s flavor; high suspicion it is too old to be an accurate rating--or is it just too malty?... Overall: a malty, yeasty ale that has surprisingly audacious backbone--and understandably, in need of some flavoring (a lemon?) to create a more balanced, more engaging beer....
2.7 Bottle. Color orange with medium white head. Aroma malt, hop, orange, pine, wheat. Taste sweet, orange, peach, citrus.
2.9 Pours a straw yellow with anice small fainting white head. Barnyard, straw, mown grass, on the nose, similar on the palate. Not an interesting beer.
2.8 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy straw yellow color with small white head. Aroma is mellow, wheat, and a bit spicy. Taste is slightly fruity, wheat and yeast notes, and not much else.
