2.9 12oz Bottle - Poured a golden yellow with a very thin white head. Nice aroma that tapered off. In the nose... I get a mash up of flowers, like honeysuckle and hibiscus maybe...with some citrus peel. The flavors are of grass, lemon, pine, and a bit of cereal grain. It’s okay. Also, I’m drinking this in March.... and this is a summer brew. Not sure how fresh this one is. Hmmm.
5.0 Nice yellow/amber color with a good head. Lemon, citrus aromas; not very strong. Very crisp, refreshing taste with floral, citrus accents and a dry, slightly bitter finish. Very nice beer for a summer day.
2.7 Appearance is clear light amber with medium white head. Aroma is citrusy. Taste is light and mainly wheat and fruit. Overall not what I expected.
3.5 Golden pale appearance. Very wheat smell. But had a bit of the mouthful of an ale.
3.5 Golden color; medium-sized head. Citrus , malt and hint of grain in aroma. Simple , refreshing taste with gently hoppy bitterness and light , malty sweetness. Decent summer beer.
3.1 サマーウイートビール 飲みやすい白
3.5 Pours a beatiful golden with a subtle aroma. Nice taste and seems different than most wheats.
3.6 Bottle. Seems like it’s been forever since I had a Hop Sun. Moderately dark for the style, full-bodied. A little bit of hops but fades quickly into a nice sweetness. Not too heavy.
4.3 BOD 2/23/15. Pours a clear gold with a touch of amber. Normal head volume, lacing and retention. Nice nose of citric hops (lemon), hints of banana and a base of biscuit. Medium bodied with a very smooth texture that approaches slick. Perfectly carbonated with a rich prickly effervescence from the middle on. The flavor profile is world class - intense, complex and perfectly balanced. It begins with a clean and crisp wave of mild hop flavor (lemon, light orange and a bit of pine). The middle brings a light bitterness with a hint of zest. Wheat and biscuit make their appearance between the middle and finish. It finishes clean and crisp with a wonderful effervescent burst that leaves you with a slow blended fade of all the previous flavors and a hint of phenolic clove.
3.7 Pleasantly hoppy, strong on the lemon on the nose. Pale yellow color not very hazy for a wheat. The lemon is stronger than the wheat it the taste also and I start in the back end. Easy to drink.
2.9 Draught @ Albion. Clear goldwn yellow with almost no head, faint doughy aroma, low carbonation, slight honey taste, abrupt finish. Quite a bland brew.
3.4 bottle at the DUB, with hakes, and norris...gold pour with white head. aroma is grapefruit and lemon. Not too wheat. decent llittle session al
3.6 A bright lightly hoppy American wheat with the associated minor sweetness and a hint of lemon. Easy drinking and tasty. The total opposite of 70% of ST’s lineup.
2.7 This wheat poured a light amber colour with next to no head at all. no lacing. Scents include apple juice, dough and hay. First swig was slightly watery with flavours of bread and very light hops. Very thin mouthfeel.
2.9 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear gold with light head. Aromas of lemon wax, soap, and white pepper. Light watery floral flavor with some additional wheat/grain, and citrus notes. Not very inspiring.
3.5 Bottle. Cloudy, gold color. Aroma and taste is a nice wheat ale smell and taste. Like the description says it’s zesty and lemony.
2.9 Pours a clear golden with a frothy head. Aromas of lemon and grass. Refreshing taste, fairly light with some spice. Nice wheat beer.
3.6 Transfer from BA review on 8-1-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a small half finger white head. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a spotty foam on the surface of the brew and some decent lacing on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is rather light overall consisting mostly of a wheat and bready smell mixed with an orange sweetness. Along with these aromas as some hints of spice with a little bit of clove and lemongrass as well as some more grassy hop smells. Taste – The taste begins with a citrus sweet taste of lemon and lots of orange mixed with a smooth bready taste with some light hints of wheat. As the taste moves on the orange and smooth bready flavors lose strength while the wheaty taste gain more potency and get more grainy in nature. The lemon that was present upfront, all the while gets slightly stronger and is joined by a decent showing of a grassy hop taste coming to the tongue later on. In the end, with the transitions of flavors that occur during the taste, a slightly grainy and grassy lemon citrus taste that is on the slightly drier side is left to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the lighter to medium side in its thickness, and chewiness with a carbonation level that is on the slightly above average side. The higher carbonation and lower body thickness are rather nice for both the lemon and grassy flavors of the brew and make for a more refreshing taste when mixed with the grainy wheat tastes of the brew. Overall – A rather easy drinking and not too sweet wheat brew. A decent grainy and grassy American wheat.
3.5 Light golden orange appearance. Grainy, grassy hop aroma. Taste of grains, lemon, floral hops and wheat. Nicely done summer brew.
3.3 Summery American wheat ale with light yellowish, sticky head and pale ’old gold’ colour with calm sparkling. Very flowery aroma, like a meadow in early summer, with hints of green apple, white grape, peach, banana, lots of artisanal honey, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, grass. Mineral-like taste, pretty strong carbo, unripe fruits, mild citrussy freshness, apple, soap, pale malts, quickly overwhelmed by an ’American’ hop bitterness, peppery, grassy and long; rather thin body, even somewhat watery, and alcohol noticeable - which I find unacceptable in a beer of only 5,1% ABV. Otherwise an interesting tasting, though.
3.1 Bottle at home. Pours light yellow, nose is lemon, toffee, taste is sweet caramel, light fruit.
3.2 Poured a golden color from the tap with aromas of light wheat, some citrus, light lemon and a touch of yeast. Flavors are wheat and citrus, light on palate, decent for the heat of summer.
3.4 Golden, frothy white head, and nice heavy lacing. Citrus, light wheat, and mild grain aroma. Light bodied, citrus-lemon, and light wheat notes. Medium bitterness, dry finish, and medium zest. Good beer.
3.3 Poured from bottle to glass. Straw hue with fizzy white head that dissipated to a ring. Aroma is lime, grassy, grapefruit, straw, slight cereal. Mouthfeel is refreshing with a medium body and sharp carbonation. Taste is sweet initially with a bitter following that lingers through the finish. Overall this is a decent seasonal shelf IPA.
3.2 Beer has a hazy golden yellow color. Not a strong aroma. Very clean crisp taste with citrus hints. Great summer beer, very refreshing.
3.4 Bottle - Nice light yellow color with an average head. Lemon and wheat aroma and taste. A little hoppy. Thin mouthfeel and medium bitter. A decent summer beer.
3.7 Hazy gold lasting lacy white head; aroma is a blend of grain citrus and hops; Flava is grainy then tart not sour with sweet rosy notes like Turkish delight; feels light to medium little fizz; finishes mild and grainy predominantly
3.2 Pours a clear golden color. Aroma and taste are citrus, tropical fruits, and has a hoppy finish.
3.2 Golden, frothy white head, and nice heavy lacing. Citrus, lite wheat, and mild grain aroma. Lite bodied, citrus-lemon, and lite wheat notes. Medium bitterness, dry finish, and medium zest.
3.4 12 oz bottle pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of wheat, citrus and grass. Taste is wheat and citrus.
