3.5Flight #3 at the brewery with ebone1988. The pour is a darker golden yellow with a thin head and a lot of soapy lace left behind. The aroma is sweaty hops. There is a nice crispness there that I like and the maltiness hides well. No real bitterness which is a drag. The flavor is dank and hoppy. It definitely doesn’t carry like a pale ale. This is more like an IPA. It’s holly and bitter with no alcohol at all. The mouthy feel is light and thin with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly bitter hop. I like it.
3.5Sample at Hattiesburg fest. Clear deep amber color, off white head. Huge orange aroma. Taste is light bittersweet citrus. Nice.
3.1Hazed amber appearance with an average size, cream colored head and modest lacing. Muted, unremarkable aroma. Lackluster hop intensity overshadowed by pale malts. Another APA that is good but does not succeed in rising above the fray.
4.3Pours a beautiful hazy gold and orange, aromas are citrus and hops delicious pale ale!!
3.4on tap at Dog & Bull in Croydon - pale golden color. Decent hop flavor and aroma. Ok but not great.
3.3355ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is piney, tropical fruits and flowers (marygold). Taste is flowery and piney bitterness. Flower bitterness aftertaste. Not bad.
3.3Translucent golden orange with dense white head. Medium body with high carbonation.
Aroma: resinous citrus tropical hops, lightly bready malt.
Taste: resinous tropical hops, toasty malt, odd grainy finish, balanced bitterness.
3.5Golden with a thin, foamy head. Faint floral aroma. Taste is grass and orange zest. Nice PA.
3.1Tap at Lucky Well. Gold with dense white head. Crisp hop bite, a bit musty, some malt profile. A bit astringent in the finish.
3.5Great floral hoppy aroma. Decent appearance. Taste is light hops, fruit, not bad.
3.6Citrus aroma in a golden amber pour. Impressively balanced beer that matches a light fruity body with a crisp clean bitter finish.
3.212oz bottle - Nice golden hazy orange color with thin white head. Citrusy nose. Lemon, grapefruit, refrigerated flowers, light roasted grain malt, and something more biscuit-like than nutty in the flavor. Just enough balance to make it drinkable and enjoyable.
3.6Bottle from Perfect Pour. Nice golden orange body with medium head. Nose is hoppy and citrus. Taste is hoppy and citrus. Good stuff. Nice malty notes in there. Prickly texture. Warming finish. Well done.
3.9A citrus resiny pine aroma. Golden body with a faint haze. An mild earthy malt bitterness. Has a hint of sweet citrus in the back end.
3.6On draught at Winking Lizard. The beer pours a clear golden color with a medium thick white head that dissipates gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.
3.6From the bottle. Clear amber. Fine bubbled head. Thin and clingy. Nose is faint. Mild malty start across to a resin counter and a hint of orange in the long dry finish.
3.4Bottle Light golden with a spritzy off-white head. No real lacing. Light grassy with some citrus hop aroma. Light bodied and crisp. Decent flavors and clean pale malt
3.3DATE TASTED: December 3, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: Barley Creek pint... OCCASION: prepping for a good Friday a bit early on Thursday... APPEARANCE: hazy, busy, lively body that offers a mountain of cloud--puffy, white, with crags and nooks like a rock face...its resilience is noticeable...excellent half-finger head laces admirably into camo-like patterns....AROMA: bright punch of citrus--grapefruit and orange peel; the breadiness--as promised by the label--is appreciable... PALATE: a rather rounded, easy-drinking pale ale, with a smooth, undistinguished finish; a bit dry for a pale...light to medium-bodied... TASTE: a strange, lemony flavor pervades the citrus profile, with the malts wrestling for control over the experience... enough dough to mistake the drink for a something more British...worth noting the orange one more time... OVERALL: tough to say for a Southern Tier, but not an improvement over their original pale... applaud them for trying something new or different, but the hops are blanketed by malts and the hops are one-dimensional and soft.... not really what was hoped for...
3.8Wunderbar fruchtige Nase, vollmundig, Ananas und Zitrusfrüchte, angenehme Süsse und Bittere. Orangefarben mit perfektem Schaum.
3.0Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a half finger white foam head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Floral, earth hop aroma with grass and pine notes countered by bread, biscuity malt and light fruit. Slightly resinous with soily hops followed by bread, apple, pear and pale malt notes.
Medium bodied with a dank, crisp hop bite that provides a strong bitterness that lingers over the sweeter notes and pale malt into a bone dry finish. Very earthy with soil like flavor along with grass and pine needle followed by bready yeast, light fruit and biscuit malt. Sweet hints of apple, pear and subtle alcohol provide a decent counter to the strong hop flavors. Pale malt backbone with bread, biscuit and cracker. Light and well balanced and while its nothing out of the ordinary, it’s a decent, sessionable beer.
3.4Pours golden and clear. Aromas of pine , and a bit of floral. Flavors of pine, floral and a bit of malt. Moderately bitter on the palate.
3.2On tap at Local Cantina Clintonville, OH. Southern Tier Live is a rich golden mostly clear brew with a thin head of tiny white bubbles. Nose is a lot of citrus hops and perhaps a bit of tropical fruit as well. Body was a bit lively and thinner. Taste was a nice balance bite of hops with more of the citrus at the fore. A nice pale ale for sure.
2.9Lots of lemon and orange on the nose, some pineapple and grapefruit, no malt to speak of. VERY hazy dark straw color thin white head, nice lacing for such a thin head. Surprisingly clean, sharp grain flavors. Somewhat understated hop character though it is nice. Citra hop type character, very citrusy character. Palate is a bit thin but drinkable and pairs well with the muted nature of the brew. Overall please don’t call a 5.5% abv a ’session’ beer. Obviously a very well made beer, maybe age has diminished the hop character yet it is also simplistic. VERY clean character, drinkable. It is well crafted, very balanced but lacks hop or malt punch, sort of lingers in the middle where it fails to be special in any particular way.
3.8Bottle bbe 05/2016. Hazy yellow color with a huge head that doesn’t last long. Aroma of citrus, pine and some sweetness. Taste is mild bitterness and some citrus notes, well balanced with the light malty sweetness. Could be more intensive tastewise, smell is great.
2.9Gold, SRM 5, clear at the start, stable white head.
Yeasty nose.
Light body, smooth mouthfeel, good heat and carbonation, moderate flavor, long aftertaste.
Bitter, dry, sharp but balanced acidity.
Hoppy, fruity, yeasty.
Not my style but nice length.
3.9pours a semi murky rich gold with a smallish white head. aroma is strong citrus and pine. Taste is bright and hoppy then moderately bitter. notes of tangerine. Pleasant bittersweet finish. Really good APA!
3.4Poured into a perfect pint.
3.75 A: Moderately hazed orange brown color. Two fingers of frothy/creamy off-white head. Retention is very good and lots of lacing is left. A few small floaties in there.
4.5 S: Lots of citrusy hoppiness in here. HUGE orange aroma with peach and mango underneath. Mild doughy yeastiness. Sweet neutral maltiness. This smells wonderful.
3.5 T: Unlike the nose, the taste isn’t nearly as impressive. Just a mild citrusy hop flavor. Mild bitterness. Light neutral malts with light yeasty breadiness.
3.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Light creaminess with just a touch of chewiness. Not bad.
3.5 D: This started out so strong, but failed to pull it off with the taste.

4.16-pack from Supermarket in upstate NY. Great aroma of tropical and citrus fruits. Taste is bitter and resiny with citrus notes. Long bitter finish. Very enjoyable.
3.6Draft at Klobys. Pale orange gold with thin head. Classic hop forward citrus and pine on both nose and palate... Solid pale ale, drifting into IPA territory...
