Spaten Pils

Spaten Pils

Bottom fermented pilsner style beer. Very elegant, pale in color, dry and hoppy. Its crisp clean taste is due to the extra fine Bavarian hops.

3.6 2" rocky head drops leaving sheets of lace.. polished straw colored brew. Grainy aroma is sorta husky ... floral/spicy hop nose. Good bitter backbone transitions into malty background flavors and a distinctive spicy hoppiness. Body is on the light side of medium with fairly high carbonation.... very drinkable any time of the year. I always seem to have access to the Spaten Pils, and actually buy it quite often.. a pretty good deal for a well made German pilsner.
Geruch hopfig, grasig. Geschmack herb, grasig, minimal würzig.
3.0 0,5 l bottle BB 03/14 golden, clear, frothy, white foam, bread, hay, cereal, citrus, herbs, light sweetness, medium bitterness, medium body, oily feel, slick feel, average carbonation,
3.9 This is a nice Bavarian pilsner that is slightly dry and hoppy rather than sweet like any in this category. This would not appeal to me on a regular basis, but it is a nice summer change of pace.
2.6 Clear golden color, small white head. Malty taste and some hops. Basic pils
3.3 Clear yellow with good white foam head, lacing. Aroma is like a good Germany pilsener, taste is likelwise, nice hoppy. Aftertaste is dry, longer lasting. (Yaroslavl 201304)
2.7 Good and tasty with hippy taste. From tap it is less bitter which a good thing. Enjoy!
3.0 Tastes like cold stream water running over rocks. Crisp & refreshing. Would be a great breakfast cereal. One or two to get the day started.
2.0 Pours golden.. white head..skunky aroma..taste is not my favorire..just ok...sort of like a fart in a bottle
3.5 Tap. Wanted something lighter and enjoyed this. Looks like beer should look. Smells lightly of cereal plus honey plus maybe lemon. Nice light balanced flavor ending on the hoppy side. Light, fairly carbonated, light hop finish.
3.3 Incredibly crisp lager. Pours a clean and clear light gold with a frosty, fizzy head. Tastes of "beer"...
3.3 Gold, crystal clear, large white head; standard malty lager aroma, perhaps a little bit of the barnyard about it; clean, refreshing, very dry - everything you’d want and expect from a pils is present and correct; bitter finish, and a developing lemony fruitiness as the beer warms; a textbook pils.
3.6 Clear gold, frothy head. Aroma is grainy and mildly hoppy. Taste is nice, crisp and clean. A nice bitter bite on the finish.
3.9 Really enjoyed this pils, clean and crisp, aroma is negligible but the body and flavour is great.
3.1 Beautiful deep yellow color, with little foaming. The smell is hoppy. The beer starts hoppy fresh and slightly grainy, with a subtle sweetness in the background.
2.5 Tap @ Kodu. Pale yellow color. Small white head, lasts forever. Malty, grassy aroma. Malty, grassy, mint in flavor. Smooth to drink.
3.0 Bottle by 11.2012. Very grassy nose, lightly dusty. Pours clear yellow with a sudsy off-white head. Taste is very juicy, good noble hop presence with low and lightly metallic bitterness, no citrus but the pale malt makes up for it (this is like a highly hoppy Helles). Sweetish start but dries out, light body is soft.
3.5 (bottle) pours a clear pale yellow colour with a frothy white head. aroma of floral hops and citrus fruits, very fragrant, with a hint of pale malts, straw and white chocolate. flavour is mostly the same, floral hops and a hint of lime, slightly barnyardy, with notes of straw and an assertive bitter finish. light to medium-bodied with average carbonation. surprisingly good.
3.8 Tap. Clear, pale yellow color. Thin foamy white head, but stuck around for a while in the glass. Floral nose with hints of grain. Bitter crisp palate. Flavors are balanced in herby and citrus hops. Clean bitter finish. Nice clean carbonation.
3.3 Tap - average size thick head, pale straw color, crisp balanced aroma and flavor
2.5 The regular 500ml bottle, best before Jan 2012, poured into two Veltins badged stemmed tulip glasses during Oct 2011. The review was also taken with a Spaten Munchner Hell (a blind tasting, not knowing until afterwards which was which). Lighter than the Hell and slightly more bitter, it is a typical German Pilsner and has nothing to put it above most of them: it’s clean, crisp and clear just like all the rest. Mr average in every aspect when compared to its rivals.
2.9 Bottle. Poured clear pale color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting and good lacing. Moderate grass balanced aroma. Medium body with a smooth dry texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft brew.
3.4 On tap at the dutch A: straw yellow, small head with impressive retention S: malt, grass T: malt sweet followed by light grass and skunk. Not an overly clean pilsner M: light, crisp O: not a bad beer, wish it didn’t have skunk. I doubt das germans would be happy. Serving type: on-tap
3.3 Bottle. Yellow colour with a white head. Medium malty nose. Classic pilsner flavor, crisp and clean hops and malts.
3.5 Draft at Laschet’s. Pours a pale gold with a fluffy white head. Remarkably clear. Nose is full of pils malt, distinct herbal noble hopping. Really clean and crisp nose. On tasting, sharp bitterness that is well balanced by bread pils malt. Quite clean and refreshing, though not a ton going on in there. Still, good beer.
3.1 era una de mis pils preferidas cuando vivia en Italia,un olor a malta y lupuloy al paladar bien agradable con lupulo bien balanceado. Un buen sabor una buena pils
3.0 33cl bottle. Golden colour with white head, persistent and frothy. Aroma is fresh malty with sweet notes. The flavour has notes of hops and malts, with a final moderate bittery, resultanting a good balanced beer. Carbonation is medium, body is medium-high and texture is oily.
4.3 (Bottled) Excellent Pils; bready malts, grassy hops, unassuming sweetness meshing with dryness. good’un. re8 I like this and must give props with a point more for its easy to sink effervescence ...its refreshing reminder as to why I like Pilseners.
