4.3 It pours dark brown, almost black, with a moderately brown head that does have a bit of lacing. It has aromas of chocolate, dark fruits, coffee, and citrus. There are sweet flavors from the beginning from the chocolate. There are also flavors of coffee, citrus, plums, and toast. It has a moderate feel that is smooth and creamy. It finishes moderately bitter. Overall this is a chocolate ale from the initial flavors that turns into a complex blend of malts and hops that is easy to drink.

4.0 Bottle. Pours a pitch black beer with a nice, dense creamy tanned head on top. Aroma has loads and loads of coffee, roasted characters and a hint that light typical porter tartness. Flavor returns the coffee in a massively good way, really amping the oomph on this beer. A bit one-sided, but still well balanced and full flavored. Roasty malts, coffee and slight sweet aftertaste. Softly carbonated, silky mouthfeel. Great stuff.
