St Bernardus Wit is a traditional Belgian white beer developed and brewed in collaboration with the legendary Master Brewer Pierre Celis. This ale is very pale (whitish-yellow colour) and quite hazy. The head is white and dense. In aroma, it has a wheaty, apple-like, tartness; herbal-spicy notes with coriander and orangey fruitness and honeyish sweetness. Very refreshing: perfect thirst quencher !

Standard of Belgian White.
One of my all time favourites. Hints of coriander and lemony fruity smells enter the nose, also evident when enjoying this beer. Light, although perhaps slightly more bitter than other witbiers, this is one of the all time greats of the style. Enjoyed from a bottle, served in the classic St. Bernardus glass of course.

11.2 oz can. Perfection for a Belgian White Ale - crisp, light, zesty - perfect crushing beer. Love it!
Robe blonde , belle mousse blanche épaisse et dense. Arôme et goût d orange, citrode levure, de coriandre.
12 oz can. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a dense white head. Nice sour yeasty smells. Dry wheat flavors with above average carbonation and very little yeast tastes. Kind of a nice looking dog that doesn’t bite.

330ml can. Pours a cloudy gold with a bright white head. Mild scents of yeast and barnyard. Nice sour wit tastes with banana and malt and mild yeast flavors. L:Ishtar carbonation and a very short finish. Well balanced and good.

It pours a lemonade colour with a huge billowy head of foam. Good lacing.
Smells of coriander, light cloves, some pepper, mild sweetness, no bitterness.
Coriander, cloves, pepper, pleasant fruitiness...orange, banana, sweetish, no bitterness. Yummy.
Good mouthfeel, very easy drinking. Excellent.

Light wit and some banana bread. Florals. Golden pour with decent head. Light tang in the finish, a little lime. Breezy beach beer. Can from a Total Wine.

Quite a good wheat beer. Smells of coriander that follow through on the initial taste. Then a medium citrus sourness takes over that last just long enough. Gotta love the Buddy-Jesus monk on the label. Had a bottle at Castro’s.

33cl bottle pours a translucent orange with a ring of white head. Nose has orange and yeast, some esters, floral, some candle. Flavor has a lot of orange and some clove, some bubblegum here, some melon too. Finishes off dry, estery.

Gran decepción, esperaba mucho más. Cerveza blanca, muy poco cuerpo sin espuma y sabor a la típica cerveza con limón, casi parece una Shandy...
Très belle blanche, fines bulles et mousse persistante. Nez portant principalement sur le citron avec quelques notes d’orange et de fruits blancs confits. Complexe en bouche, on retrouve les mêmes fruits, froment et une touche subtile de coriandre, tout en douceur. Très légère amertume, le tout est bien équilibré mais manque un peu d’intensité. Bonne longueur en bouche malgré un final un peu plat. La perfection n’est pas loin pour cette bière d’abbaye belge.
33cl blik. Troebel bleek kleur, fijne romige witte. De geur is banaan en tarwe. Smaak is zoet, banaan, tarwe en koriander. Medium body en veel koolzuur.

this one pours typically like a white beer. Nice hazy yellow body with white head. Head stays longer than similar beers.
The taste is very dry and spicy, not at all sweet. Really nice white beer. Rather complex citruc taste. Interesting drink for in summer.
Bonne complexité aromatique sur cette St Bernadus Blanche, véritable point fort de cette bière et que l'on retrouve peu aisément sur les bières du genre. Il ne lui manque qu'un peu de vivacité et de présence pour être au top, mais en reste très appréciable néanmoins. En verre, le blond très pâle voilé et quasiment sans mousse n'est pas des plus glamour, mais passons. Joli nez sur le froment, le zest d'orange, fruits blancs et pointe citron. En bouche, nous retrouvons le même cocktail, assis sur une bonne complexité et sur une fraicheur provenant notamment d'une acidité que personnellement j'aurais apprécié un peu moins présente afin de permettre à l'ensemble de se poser quelque peu. L'utilisation de froment confère de l'astringence mais également de la personnalité. Mais ce qui est appréciable, c'est de se rendre compte, que l'on peut faire une excellente blanche sans rajouter d'ingrédients devant booster la bière, mais la rendant souvent très stéréotypée. L'ensemble de la dégustation est relativement homogène, avec une intensité que l'on aurait apprécié un peu plus importante mais avec des contrastes sympathiques, notamment avec de la douceur en retro, et une arrière bouche vive et complexe. Petit bémol sur le final, d'une longueur appréciable mais plus plate. Belle blanche.

Textura seni-oleosa, cuerpo ligero y carbonatación medio-alta. Una Witbier elegante y delicada, bien equilibrada y con los sabores típicos del estilo bien entrelazados. Una de las mejores Wit que he probado.

Wheaty, spicy, and zesty, citrusy fruity aroma, notes of coriander, orange peel, whiffs of banana. Taste is sweet-ish, wheaty malty, mildly peppery spicy, and zesty, citrusy fruity, hints of banana, notes of coriander, orange peel, mandarine.
Watery texture, minimally dry and minimally astringent palate, medium, prickly to lively carbonation.
Classic composition, well balanced, not overspiced, refreshing, maybe already a tad overcarbonated - nice.
Think about your Weihenstephaner or Schneider Weisse but way more intense, subtle dryness, def Belgian yeast. Way better than Hoegarden. Must try if a fan of wheat and/or white beers.
