1.6[as St. George Beer, ABV 4.7%] Bottiglia.
2.3Thanks to Snegurochka for sharing a 330ml bottle, 4.7 % abv. Clear golden body under a covering white head, spotty lacing. Vague pale malty aroma, hints of oily hops. Has got a discreet malt-fruity taste followed by a mid-sweet grainy ending. Rounded mouth feel. Accepted. (Session with TheCellarer, Finn and Snegurochka at Finns in Tromsø 21.09.2018).
2.4Flaske spandert av Snegurochka. Delt med henne, Rune og TheCellarer på Nerstranda. Veldig lys gylden. Filmskum. Lett maltaroma. Smaken søt malt. Uvariert.
2.1(bottle) clear golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of pale malts and manure, quite cobwebby though still rather nondescript. flavour is mostly cardboard and sugar icing, with a touch of pale malts and a slightly ethanolic finish. light- to medium-bodied with average carbonation. when in rome ....
2.1Clear golden. Aroma is grainy old hops, grandmas rug, wet shower mat. Taste is sweet maize, malty. Quite drinkable. Not that bad.
2.4Bottle 4.7%. Pale golden, offwhite grey ring. Light flowery grassy hops on a grainy base. Medium light, a bit grain and grass, medium light to no flavor, inoffensive like water.
2.1Bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is starch, light cardboard, sugar icing. Taste is the same, light cereals. Oily mouthfeel, natural carbonation. Pretty standard pale lager.
1.803-09-18 // bottle bought in a small ethopian shop in Haifa. Clear pale golden. Light bodied and mild sweetish grainy.
2.0From notes: Bottle from an Eritrean restaurant Canal St Manchester. Nose was light cereal and herbal. Taste was thin light cereal. A bit watery. Fine for what it was.
1.7Clear, yellow-golden colored, medium white head. Aroma is very bland, some malt, some light grains. Taste is light+ sweet malt, again very bland flavor, light grain, light straw, light corn. Medium-light bodied, soft carbonation, watery. Almost flavorless.
(bottle, Debre Birhan, Ethiopia)
2.7Sampled at Queen of Sheeba restaurant. Drunk over kitfo. What an experience. Decent beer a little bit of malt in the finish.
3.5"The beer is light golden in colour with a small foam head that quickly disapears. It tastes fresh with a very nice malty feel. It finishes of with a hint of sweetness and some grainy notes. One of the better African lagers I’ve had so far." - beersoftheworldproject.wordpress.com

2.0Shared with wombat23 and darbeer75. From the bottle. Gold with a white head that turns thin and whispy. Metallic aroma, bit of grass and garden weed. 'Herbal' might be more polite. Mildly bitter with some sweet tones that feel almost artificial. It is Rheinheitsgebot but the hops leave something to desire. Body lightish, touch watery. Not my thing.
2.2Aroma: grassy and a little skunky; Appearance: clear golden pour with thin white head; Taste: watery and bland; nonoffensive; Palate: very light bodied; Overall: forgettable but drinkable.
2.3While travelling in Ethiopia, having one of the surprisingly well-crafted Lagers was like entering heaven after a hot and dusty day exploring. That being said, St. George is the leader of the pack, though objectively compared to real good beer on a global format it can be no more than average.
1.8Le Négus / Paris. Que dire sur cette bière ? Une des seules qualités vient de son origine exotique, sinon , pour le reste , on est très proche d’une Heineken. Ni plus ni moins.
2.9Bottle in Ethopian Restaurant - golden color, white head. taste is biscuits, floral hops, I was nicely surprised. drinkable. watery body though. okay.
1.5Review: 33cl bottle of St. George Beer: ABV: 4.7%
The beer has an interesting cover on its bottle. We get to see a medieval type knight slaying a dragon. Plus there is funny looking writing on the label which I’m led to believe is the Amharic language, the ancient language of Ethiopia. Overall it is a nice stand out distinct design and in a lovely looking brown bottle.
On appearance we get a nice golden colour and a nice big head on the pour. A lot of nice carbonation going on. Overall it looks a good beer, very clear and a decent head but colour and head both fade a little and there is no lacing.
Aroma is faint but I got a sweet malty smell and some barely, bit tinty and lagery as well.
Taste: Has an off taste, initial taste of cardboard? Not nice at all, like unprocessed straw. Not nice at all. Very sweet grain flavours and sweet malted barely tastes.
Second pint, slightly better but still not great to be honest, very sweet, too much so, and very corny. Not a session beer for sure, or for anything to be fair.
I so wanted this to be a good beer. but I guess its a long way to Ethiopia, and I’m sure it tastes better under an African sun……………
2.1Bottle - pours gold white head - nose and taste of corn, metal, little liquid soap - not offensive though - medium body
1.9Clear golden. Aroma is sweet malt and some banana leaf. Hysterically sweet and sticky.
3.1I bought this bottle at the drink of the world in Geneva. I drank it in Paris, in the hotel room. In my point of view, it is a honest lager, nothing to fall in love with ten women but it makes the job to be refresh and relax. The taste is standard like so many lagers in this planet: malty, bready, some hop and a bit watery, a bit metalic at the final but the taste is relatively standard during all the time. The body is yellow and gold, normal carbonation, thin and white head.
2.633 cl bottle. 4.7% appearance golden yellow with white disappearing head.
Slightly bitter and medium sweet. Average carbonation.
2.433cl bottle at the Beer Garden Inn, Addis Ababa. Immaculate condition, beautifully presented largely pointless, could-be-from-anywhere little blond job from the style that will tell young aspiring Africans across the continent what to drink. They do not have to list the ingredients so I am guessing 30% adjuncts. Tasting notes: nothing offensive.
1.4Not as bad a some would suggest, but is slightly bitter but otherwise not spectacular.
2.9Clear golden liquid with white head. Aroma of hay, caramel, flowers. Taste has straw and caramel, copper, medium sweet, medium bitter. Light body, light feel, average carb, astringent, long fin
2.7Appearance: golden, fast disappearing white foam, clear. Aroma: hay, bread. Taste: light sweetness, lightly bitter. Palate: medium body, thin feel, average carbonation, light bitter, astringent finish.
2.2Aroma is honey, tart, caramel and light straw. Taste is basic light sweet malts , honey and saome sweet grain flavors. Pretty basic overall but crisp and fairly smooth. Appearance is a clear gold with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.
2.5Clear yellow, white little lacing foam head. Sweet barley aroma - sugar added? Pale ale taste, nothing special. (Velp 201609)
