St. Louis Kriek

St. Louis Kriek

For 6 months the flesh of the fresh sour cherries slowly digests in the Lambic. The intense flavour of cherries and light nuances of almond from the pits determine the flavour of this fruity delicacy.

Note: ABV from 4.5% to 4% at some point.

2.8 Can labelled Vieux Bruxelles Kriek from Kasteel Brouwerij Vanhonsebrouck. Shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen 05.08.20. Clear red. White head and lacing. Arona and taste of sour cherries and marzipan. Almond bitterness in aftertaste. Medium sweet.
2.9 As Vieux Bruxelles, Tenerife, Feb 2020. Clear pink in plastic beaker with pale pinkish tuft. Cherry drop nose. And taste. High on boiled sweetness, low on complexity. Wheat biscuit crumbles. Against expectations it kind of works. Tasty refresher by the pool.
2.9 0,33 bottle. Nice cherry wine color, pink foam that unfortunately got there soon. Aroma: fantastic, real sour cherry, it also tastes better. Fortunately, I don't taste the sweetener(stevia). Good little basic fruity beer, spontaneously fermented fine :) Refreshing, but not a big number. It's overpriced. The score is so much because it is based on real beer, not a "soft drink". Otherwise it would be a little less. *** Szép meggybor szín, rózsaszín hab, ami sajnos hamar oda lett. Illata fantasztikus, igazi meggy, abból is a finomabb.
3.1 Color rojo burdeos, ligera turbidez. Aroma a cereza, chup a chup Kojak y polvo.
Aroma a cereza.
3.0 Nose. Cherry and sour lambic in the background. Taste. Sweet, cherry, felt notes of lambic, slightly dry.
2.8 # 1543. Sour cherries in aroma and taste as well. Nothing more. Quit good. 0,3l, draf, pub, Pilsen (Czech Republic).
2.6 Ruby body with no head. Aroma is fruity, sweet, lots of sugar. Taste is cherries syryp. Sweet finish. Medium body soft carbonation oily texture
3.2 Zoet fruitige licht zure amandel kersen smaak. Proefglas
1.5 13-07-19 // taster at Bierbärse Mainz. Clear red. Cheerry bonbon sweet in nose and taste. No.
3.0 Smell- medium strong, cherry, more of a sour sweet cherry smell. Foam- thin, soft, sour, sweet, cherry. Medium pink, brown head. Appearance- clear, medium dark, red brown ruby..ish color, no carbonation. Taste- sweet, cherry, candy ,some sourness in back, bot it is not disturbing me much. Generally ok, was expecting me not to like it, but I do, still nothing special.
2.6 250ml bottle. Clear, redd-ish brown colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, pink-ish head. Sugary sweet-ish, artificial fruity aroma, notes of cherry. Taste is sugary sweet and artificially fruity, notes of cherry, sour-ish counterpart with hints of citric acid.
3.1 Restrained aroma in a murky purple pour. Tart taste to start with a sweeter fruit body body and clean finish.
Szerintem veri a Bekesszentandrasi gyumolcsos izesitesu soreit.
2.9 Sweet, cherry thirst quencher, like it's been said, a tad artificial, no follow through.
3.1 250ml bottle. Pours clear dark ruby red, small pinkish head. Aroma is sweet, cherry, marmalade. Taste is soursweet, black cherries, jammy. Watery finish. Thin body, average carbonation. Drinkable, not that sweet than other mainstream krieks.
2.4 Bottle. Pours dark reddish brown. Sugary sweet cherries and sour apple aroma. Taste of super sugary artificial cherry. No thanks.
3.0 Kirpeähkö, sopiva genrelle.
3.8 From cervezas belgas, Almuñecar. In Teku glass. At lunch, with rice soup, then yellow merluza. Fine, but the lidemans extra kriek had a more delicious sweetness and here alcohol and sourness are a bit noticeable
2.6 0,25 l bottle. Pours clear deep red, slightly on purple side with light pink lasting head. Nice very light pinky lacing. Aroma is straightforward sweet sour cherries, unfortunately it's very artificial. Flavor quite closely follows aroma. Taste is way to sweet for me, bitterness very light and very light sour. Body is light to medium, texture slick and carbonation average. Finish is medium long, starts very sweet and fades to light refreshing sourness. Way too sweet and artificial for my taste.
3.5 Pours ruby with a thin pink head. The cherry aroma and flavour is quite naturally. Sugar added, but still not too sweet. It is a bit too close to a cherry lemonade for the real Kriek aficionado, but it is quite drinkable, though.
2.6 0.25 l bottle from Ambrosetti, Berlin. Shared with Vlasta and Slow Maja on the bus. Cherry candy or jam aroma, fruit juice with soft acidity. Herbs or grass, cherry leaves along with the fruit. Harsh tartness, although light. Light finish, moderately lasting. Watery, moderate carbonation, no real character to it.
3.0 Very appealing, if somewhat simple, kriek. Big sweet cherries kept in line but just a tingle of brown vinegar sharpness. Thin effervescent and a creamy head that lows quickly. Goes well with food and slakes the thirst on a warm spring day.
3.7 Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - a light cherry colour. Pink, lacy head. Nose - cherry and cherry lozenge. Taste - more cherry lozenge, marzipan and almond. Palate - close to medium bodied, sweet fruit but tangy and dry through the finish. Overall - so much flavour for the strength.
2.8 0.25 l bottle from 'Rudat', best before August 2019. Clear, ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, pinkish white head. Sweetish, quite fruity, slightly artificial aroma of cherry juice, raspberry and some sorbet powder. Fairly sweet, maybe minimally sourish, rather fruity and slightly artificial taste of lots of cherry juice, raspberry, sorbet powder and hints of redcurrant, followed by a short, sweetish, minimally tart and just a little dry finish. Thin body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Too sweet to be refreshing, the lambic is barely detectable, still easily drinkable and not bad.
