2.6 Bottle shared. Rich gold-amber pour with few bubbles of white foam. Aroma is malty, cooked veggies, cardboard and caramel, the triple C English classic. Taste is dull and lifeless, dusty malt, tired hops, mild bitterness. Palate is light bodied, slightly watery with low carbonation. Boring.
3.6 1 Pint bottle. Big scents of malt and yeast. Pours a cloudy orange gold with a thin white head.Tastes of leather and a coppery short finish. Very nice low carbonation. Not to soapyness I expect from a bitter but still super drinkable.
3.3 Bottle from Whole Foods. Dark gold n, hazy, small foamy head. Sweet aroma, malts. More malts in the taste, honey. Sweet, with a small tingle of bitterness. Not too bad.
1.3 33cl Bottle. First, not a bitter, but a (cheap) lager with hops. Really no pleasure drinking that one,
3.1 I really like the look of St. Peters ales, the glass bottles almost look like medicines. This used to be a staple of my diet as on my way to weekly band practice I would pick up a bottle or two. Unfortunately, Sainsbury supermarket was the only place that I know of that stocked this stuff, so since they've dropped it from their range I've not come across it, which is a shame.
2.0 Back log rating so not much to add in terms of aroma , palate , appearance etc . rating from an old app
3.0 Bottle. Aroma is pale malt and grain. Light orange colour. Taste is earthy, malty and crisp.
3.4 Nice enough easy drinking pale ale. Porus light golden, floral aroma. Medium bitterness biscuits dry finish. Decent but a bit dull.
2.7 Bottle. Earthy aroma, malt, grain, mineral notes. Light orange color. Earthy hop flavor. Butter comes out as it warms. Minerally and malty.
2.2 Bottle. (Brief tasting notes and rating from old records) - Overwhelmingly bitter, sour, tart, hoppy ale with bitter dry finish. Didn’t like it. (Backlog)
2.9 Pours light copper color. Thin body. Malty with notes of burnt toast and pepper. Floral hops give a somewhat astringent bitter finish.
3.6 F: thin, white, quick gone. C: pale gold, clear. A: malt, caramel, toast, fruity, bit of smoke. T: malty, toast, caramel, fruity, floral, good bitterness, medium body, low to medium carbonation, nice one, 0,5l bottle from Sainsbury’s supermarket, Camden, London.
3.4 Amber colour, thick off-white head. Lush biscuity malts and fair floral hopping both on nose and tongue. Medium bitterness. Not bad. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.7 Bottle at home served cellar cool. A very nice, easy drinking bitter that ticked all of the boxes: malt, hops and a low carbonation. I was really surprised by this and I will return.
2.6 Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a thin, white head that disappears quickly. Nose is cherry, berry, toast, and smoke; quite light. On the tongue, it’s caramel, cherry, stone fruit, and smoke; there’s a faint ashy bitterness underneath, and a bit of wheat toast. Not much on the finish; it’s a little hollow. Good enough, but lacking in gravitas.
3.6 Pours a deep golden colour with a minimal head. Aromas of honey, bread, basement aromas and some floral notes. Taste has a malty backbone with a well balanced hoppy finish. Not bad but it’s not my cup tea.
3.2 Draught at the Jerusalem Tavern. An incredibly easy drinking cask ale that has superb palate. It could go the distance on any drinking occassion as it is quite watery which some may not lke. 4/5 Bottle at home, bought from Sainsburys. A decent, gluggable ale that tasted a lot more creamy than watery as it did last. Slight lager finish this time. 3.5/5./ Re-rated. This rating is for an ale called 'English Pale Ale' had at the Jerusalem Tavern which has redirected me to this beer. If that is not accurate, the previous rating was 3.4. This beer shuold have 3.
3.8 500 ml bottle into imperial pint glass, bottled on 11/24/2015. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a small dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, honey, cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of bready malt, earthy hops, and light-moderate fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lemon, pear, apple, honey, cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Moderate herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of honey, cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light nuttiness, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt, earthy hops, and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Touch of diacetyl, but otherwise quite clean and not overly yeasty. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Light carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a very good English bitter style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malt, earthy hops, and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, easy, and pretty refreshing to drink. Very flavorful for the ABV, and very well balanced. A very enjoyable offering.
3.2 Bue en bouteille de 33cl chez Charlie et Renaud Couleur blonde, peu de mousse et peu d’effervescence Nez sur le malt Attaque maltée pointe houblonnée avec une pointe amère
3.1 Pours dark yellow, slightly cloudy with beige foam that fades. Malt in the nose, with some grassy hops and maybe a little floral. The taste is mild with the grassy hops balancing the malt well. Slightly slick texture with a bitter finish.
3.0 500 ml bottle. Pours a near clear straw yellow with a moderate white head. Aromas are chalk, light crystal malt, and lemon biscuit? Tastes are dry, chalky malt, somewhat grainy and bitter. Light body, soft on the palate, short, mildly astringent and grainy finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy
2.7 500ml bottle. Clear pale golden colour with a very thin pathetic head. Aroma: grassy, malts, almost skunky. Taste: malts, caramel sweetness, grassy hops, fruit. Bitter finish and aftertaste, which is a bit unpleasant actually. Light body, moderate carbonation. Hmm... ok, not one of St Peter’s better beers that’s for sure.
2.9 500 ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a deep golden colour with almost no head. Aroma is yeast, grass, malts. Meh.
2.8 Pours clear copper color with small, but lasting white head. Smell of hops, malts, slight caramel, a bit honey. Medium body with soft carbonation and oily texture. Taste is bitter and slightly herbal. Aroma of malts, caramel, hops, herbs and spices. Grassy with a touch of honey. Long, bitter finish. Overall, nice one. Refreshing and tasty.
3.4 Poured from a 16.9 OZ flask shaped bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a cloudy golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is slightly skunky. The taste is a little buttery with some yeast and hops. A decent beer.
1.5 5/19/16. Bottle. Probably true to style but I clearly don't like the style. Slightly skunky nose. Thin body with minimal malt backbone. Really unpleasant bitter aftertaste. Over extracted hops?
3.2 Originally rated on 7/16/08. Poured a Hazy orange yellow hue. lots of carbonation, but a thin head. Aroma was a little skunky but not too bad. Aroma was ok a little citrus, flavor was similar, a light hint of citrus and a little malty. Not bad overall
2.8 Bottle at home as a gift clear deep golden ale with weak yeasty aroma flavour is grassy some pale malts flavour is weak lacking depth or complexity thin bodied and quite watery
3.2 Buttery. Never liked that. This beer is OK and I especially love the bottle, but I will never be a fan of this brewery. Bottle as a gift from user uckelman
3.3 Pours a thin head on a hazy straw body. The aroma is honey suckle and light grains. The taste is a mild play between honey sweet and pine bitterness. Nice. The texture is crisp. Really enjoyable.
