2.6 Can @ Hansen/Zita tasting. Courtesy of adnielsen. Thanks for sending me this! Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 281212
2.5 Can, 5.5%. Clear amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel and hop. Flavour is malt, caramel, vegetable, medium sweet, hop and a little bitter.
2.8 Can. Creamy off-white good mostly deminishing head. Dark amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter nice flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. Nice.
2.8 Can. Small head with short duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, sweet malt and hops.
3.2 Pours golden amber with nose of caramel malts. A little sweet and tad bitter, but balanced. A little bit of ice tea flavor with caramel. Seems like a bit of nutmeg on the finish. Really good!
2.9 Can @ home. Dark red orange appearance with a big, cream colored head. A bit fruity, earthy, herbal, somewhat toasty, grassy aroma. Light caramel, toasty malty, somewhat grassy, earthy flavor. Not bad but it is boring.
2.8 Canned from Beers of Europe. Light brown colour, off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, toffee. Flavour of caramel malts, toffee, little fruity. Fairly dry and sweet.
2.9 Pours hazy brownish black with thin off white head. Aroma has notes of some chocolate, touch of roast, and some dark fruit. Taste is some thin chocolate and roast, some weird almost vinegar in the middle, finishing slightly dry and bitter. Good, but a bit off.
3.2 26th March 2009 Clear darkish amber beer. Smooth and soft. Quite malty with soft fruit coming through fairly quickly. Not hoppy fruit but a slightly tart orange that turns sweet in the finish. Not a traditional lager and all the better for it!
3.2 can. Pours dark copper color with small gray head. Aroma is caramel, slight metallic, slight molasses. Flavor is alot of caramel, with some soft hops toward the finish, but a lasting caramel aspect. Smooth, creamy, almost chewy mouth feel. Very sessionable, its really not too bad. Nothing complex or noteworthy, but entirely inoffensive, and pleasing to drink.
3.1 A: The pour is amber in color with a decent sized off-white head. S: Not an overly impressive nose, but not bad. Mostly bready with some yeast and maybe a bit of earthy hops. At least it’s not buttery... T: A pretty basic flavor profile here. Some toasted and bready malts with a decent enough earthy hop flavor. Not really much bitterness and maybe a bit of toffee. M: The body is light to medium with a moderate carbonation. D: I had very low expectations for this tick. Surprisingly not bad. Don’t know if I’d really want it again, though.
2.0 12oz can pours hazy copper with small off-white head. Aroma is yeast, caramel, toffee, and malts. Taste has a weird sour sweet acidity, lip pucking. Thinking this is a bad can, will have to try again.
3.0 Year old can: Dried grass clippings on the nose. Hazy copper, fine floaties, thin yellow head. Metallic sweet barley malt flavor. Nutty cashew finish. This was not all that bad and quite enjoyable even in its advanced age, particularly for the style. Is the tinniness from the liquid or the can? It’s probably the liquid, but I’m dying to have a fresh sample to decide. Definitely should re-rate.
2.7 Worty, but flavorful, this lager is flawed, but still above its ilk. It’s a bit hard to drink in terms of aftertaste and defects, but overall it is best when mixed with bourbon.
3.0 Sampled on 9/19/2010. This amber pours a medium amber color from a 12oz can. Small to medium sized white foamy head, decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is fruity, caramel and sweet. A medium to light bodied amber. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are herbal. A little sweet and somewhat nutty with some hop bitterness. Decent carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
3.6 12oz can, sampled on 6/7/10: Pours a transparent dark copper amber with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a semi-sweet toasty caramel malty nose with some grassy hop notes. Starts with pretty good fullness and sweet chewy caramel maltiness well-balanced with some grassy hop bitterness before a smooth lightly doughy finish. A good dark lager.
3.4 [355ml can from Beers of Europe] Pours amber-brown with a thick cream head. Slight fizz, but a smooth mouthfeel. Smells malty. Taste is initially metallic, but that soon fades to leave sweet malts with the taste (but not the bitterness) of American hops - lemon and pine. A little oaky vanilla in the background develops into a sweet (but very short) honey finish. A very pleasant, easy drinking beer that tastes great - I could happily chug a few of these!
2.9 From a can poured an amber color with a small amount of head. Light sweet malty flavor with a quick finish.
2.6 Can from Beers of Europe. Apple aroma. Medium brown colour. This is a new concept in beer for me. It is not like a lager or a bitter. Sweet malty flavour Aftertaste not great. Good artwork on the tin. Overall this one is interesting rather than good.
2.6 Ho hum. Another amber lager. Amber color. White head. Malty, lightly hoppy. Yada yada. Tick tock.
2.7 Can. [thank you, papsoe] Pours a nice clear amber with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has some resiny hops, grapefruit and wet caramel sweetness. High carbonation, light watery palate. Flavour is sweet, caramel. Nowhere near as hoppy or bitter as the aroma would have lead me to believe.
3.2 Can 35,5 cl. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma. Medium body, sweet roasted malts, toffee and caramel and dusty American aroma hops leaving a discreet bitterness. Basically like an Amber Ale. 020210
3.1 12 fl oz can, courtesy of Papsoe. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and hoppy. Light fruity and crisp hoppy. Lingering fruity and light malty finish.
3.2 From a can. Good, but not great; the color was a gorgeous amber shading almost to burnt orange, but the flavor and palate failed to follow up on that promise. Light head, no lace, easy drinking, mostly unobtrusive and unremarkable. It’ll be nice in a can this summer.
3.0 ( 12oz can) pours deep amber with nice oily head and good lacing. Nose of caramel, toasted grains, metal and corn. Taste of wet corn husks, light hops, toasted grains with an undercarbonated finish that’s toasty and creamy. Not horrible for a lager!
2.8 Pours a orangish-copper into a pint glass. Smell is lightly fruity and some malt and yeast. The taste is nothing like the smell, with heavy on the fruit with a little malt and no detectable hops. Not sure what the fruit flavor is, maybe some kind of berry. There really isn’t much here for this beer. Nothing bad about the beer, but nothing too good about it either. I easily finished the beer but not sure if I would drink another.
3.4 (Sample Date: 7/24/2009 Source:Other) Malty caramel aroma with a hint of spicy hops. Clear amber golden with a small white head. Malty caramel flavor with tea like sweetness. Light spicy hop flavor and lightly bready. Finish is dry and lightly bitter. Vienna style lager. Not bad.
2.8 Can, that I picked up at Bellingers, Jet Garage, Grove, Nr Wantage, Oxon consumed 31-12-09 Pours brown with off-white head. Soft in the mouth, a little malt shows and its got a clean but slightly metallic edge to it. Bit thin in flavour department, with hardly any hops noted. A5 A4 F5 P3 Ov11 2.8
3.1 Tap. Pours to a darker amber body with a lasting creamy off-white head. The aroma is pretty sweet and bready. Flavors are brown ale w/o the nuttiness. So, a sweet bready amber malt with subtle hops. The palate was medium bodied and pretty carbonated. A decent beer, but not worth the high price.
4.0 Pours a beautiful reddish copper with a long lasting creamy light tan head, mostly lasting, with cascading bubbles. Nose is mostly malt with a hint of carmel. Nice and creamy on the palate, full bodied. Taste is malty with a nice clean dry finish. An excellent lager that puts the mass brewed lagers to shame. This beer can be a great accompaniment to many types of snacks or sandwiches, especially ham on rye.
