While the size of the boot might be a bit small, the intensity of the hop flavor and aroma in Size 7 more than makes up for it. We take prodigious amounts of hops and add them any chance we get to this Northwest style IPA. If you ever call Size 7 balanced we’ll kick you where it hurts (in the hop sack).

3.6Can shared at the JK Tasting - Craft Beer Co., Islington. Many thanks to JK! Pours clear orange-gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds zesty orange, light rind and pale bread. Medium sweet flavour with notes of pine and ripening citrus fruits. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish, a bit boozy, with more rindy orange. Not bad.

4.0Minnesota Trip Beer #46. Keg at the brewery, 5/8/16. Clear copper, large creamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, pale malt. The taste is grapefruit, pine, lemon, pale malt. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. This is a very worthy 1000th IPA!!!
3.4Can from Greg (gregwilsonstl) -- cheers! This is as straightforward and traditional as American IPAs get. It’s a semi-sweet combination of malt and a good amount of piney hops. It tastes like an old familiar from a state I’ve never visited.
3.3Citrus fruits, bitter orange, grapefruit, pale grain malts. Clear gold, small, creamy, white head. Light bitter. Bittersweet citrus fruits, orange, grapefruit, pine, bitterness intensifies, dry finish, medium bodied, lively carbonation. OK IPA, could do with a more intense aroma. Keg at Republic, Minneapolis.
3.0Pours light amber, minimal head that dissipates quickly, nice lacing. Balanced malt and hop, clean finish, adequate, but not exceptional.
3.6Draft @ Hola Arepa (Minneapolis, MN). Poured clear, copper in color, off white head and nice lacing. Aroma of citrus fruit, pine and some malts. Taste is consistent; very well balanced, tropical fruits, hops and malts... Very enjoyable, very drinkable, certainly very good.
3.6Clear deep bronze color with a single finger, slightly tan head. Aroma of grapefruit and a little lemon. Has a very dish soap like aroma. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Lace present. Hints of caramel and bread along with some grapefruit. Lots of resinous hop notes. Lots of flavor.
3.4Aroma is floral, taste is floral, some fruit, hoppy, not very bitter, good IPA starter for a non-IPA drinker.
3.8Deep amber color out of the bomber with a lasting, sticky off white head. Dusty grain and citrus hop nose. This is a very solid straight up IPA. Firm malty backbone, grapefruit, pine and stone fruit hops with a pleasant grapefruit zest bitterness in the finish.
3.5Aroma: Crackers, Bready Malts, Bittering Hops...
Appearance: Amber Hue, Passes Some Light, White Head Ring, Some Lacing...
Taste: Bittering Hops, Bready Malts...
Mouthfeel: Decent Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Semi Drying, Mildly Bitter
3.7Tap at the Republic, Minneapolis. Pours honey color, sudsy white head. Aroma is orange, lemon, citrus. Flavor is sweet orange, lemon, grapefruit, fairly bitter finish. Yea, decently bitter for sure.
3.7Tap - good size foamy head, light copper color, big citrus and pine hop aroma and flavor, fair biscuity malt backbone, resiny finish, pretty good overall
3.9Draft at the source. Clear golden yellow color, white head with solid lacing. Light fruit aroma. Taste has earthy fruit and scallions. Nice.
3.5650 mL bottle. Copper body. Smells of grapefruit and some caramel malt. Tastes similar. Grapefruit. Sweet malt. A little nutty. Hefty grassy bitterness. Aggressive. Medium body. Classic IPA. Doesn’t have the excitement of newer, juicier IPAs, but it’s pretty good.
3.3Large, lasting, rocky off white head that lasts with a hefty, sticky lace. Lightly hazy copper clad color. Bold citrus and caramel malt aroma. Med/full body, bit chewy with a soft carbonation. Lightly sweet caramel malts and earthy, citrusy hop notes, hint of melons and orange juice. Lightly sweet finish that needs more bite. Still a nice quaffed. Thanks to footbalm, I think?
3.8Bottle from secret Santa. Poured light Amber with decent sized white head and some lacing. Nose of citrus and floral hops. Taste is very hoppy with little malt. Hops are very bitter citrus, maybe a little metallic. Finish is very bitter. Mouth is heavily carbonated. Overall, a nice IPA that could use a bit more malt balance.
3.7On tap at Republic in Minneapolis. This was a pleasant surprise - really nice bright hoppy aroma, juicy citrus, tropical fruits, a little grassy. Taste is well balanced and medium-bodied. Really solid IPA.
3.3Served on tap at Ward 6. Light Amber color with an off white head. Citrus and hops aroma. Medium body. Hoppy flavor throughout with a bitter finish. Little bit of pine and grass flavor. Easy drinking but could use some more citrus.
3.4Bottle: pours golden amber with a froamy white head, aroma is hoppy, taste is the same, fairly bitter finish.
3.8Klassisches ipa, wie ich es mag. Frisch und vollmundig, dabei angenehm hopfig und mit ein paar zitrusfrüchten gesegnet. Top.
3.8Many thanks to Erzengel for this sample! The beer has got a clear deep golden-light amber colour with a small head and mild carbonation. Medium body. Aroma of hops, flowers and pine. Taste of hops, pine, herbs, flowers, orange zest, citrus and needles. Hoppy finish.
3.8Vielen Dank an Erzengel! Klare dunkel goldgelbe Farbe, fingerbreite weiße Schaumkrone. Der Geruch ist angenehm hopfig, grasig, frisch, Citrusfrüchte. Der Geschmack ist sehr malzig, kräftig hopfig, sehr bitter, Citrusfrüchte.
4.2Many thanks to Jeremy for bringing it over! Nice floral nose, smooth and mild beginning. Nice intense pine, round and smooth-sweetish body. Very smooth. The bitterness appears only in the far end with a rough but still fitting aroma. Fruits, oranges, pine. Nice summer-flavours in the fruits. Long and intense fruity-piney aftertaste with not too much sweetness, but highly drinkable. Round and great intense brew! For 7% this beer is great - not too sweet, easy to drink and full of aroma!

Poured a honey, orange, hazy color with three fingers of khaki tan, frothy head. Just a few bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. Very good circular, layered, spiderweb lacing on the sides. Average-to-above average retention on the top. (Sight - 4.13)
Great first whiff of orange blossom, followed by peach, apricot, nectarine, Citra, floral, tangerine, orange zest, Cascade, Mosaic and caramel. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose, but very solid and reminding me almost more of a pale ale initially. Then got some heavy bitterness, going back to an IPA. Got bitter orange blossom, pine, Citra, red grapefruit rind and floral.
(Taste - 3.75)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, bitter finish. (Feel - 4.00)
Overall this was a really good IPA. I feel like I could have changed a few ratings here and there, but I’d love to have it again. (Overall - 3.88)

3.5On tap at The Happy Gnome. Good complex bitterness. Good drinkability. Let it room warm. Fuller mouthfeel.
3.4Draft at the brewery in Minneapolis. Dark gold color with off-white head and substantial lacing. Grain and grass aroma with some orange-citrus notes.
3.8From a 22 oz bottle.
Aroma is very hop forward with a ton of grapefruit and some lighter pine. Light caramel malt and medium light pale malt. Some other citrus notes and a bit of dank resin.
Pours a very clear copper orange with a good sized, fairly thick head that exhibits really nice retention and lacing as it slowly recedes. This might be the most clear IPA I have ever had. Medium small legs.
Flavor is assertively hoppy with a nice grapefruit and pine character and quite a high bitterness. Some light pale malt notes with medium light caramel. I don’t normally like caramel malt in my IPAs, but it works when the hop character is so grapefruit and pine forward. Hints of alcohol in the finish. Some lingering bitterness, pine and grapefruit with hints of caramel.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a nice IPA in the more classic West Coast style, but not like the more modern, dry, fruity versions. Easy drinking and well made.
3.7On tap at brewery into pint glass. St. Louis park
Pours golden hazy with white head. Aroma is citrus and pine, toasted malts. Pretty nice. Bitter taste, not too much though. Body is medium. Finish is bitter and clean.
