2.9 Pale yellow coloured beer with small white head and lots of carbonation. Citrys herby aroma. Medium sparkling palate. Finish is sweet herby ending a bit bitter.
0.5 bottle. light straw with big head. delicate flavor with citrus and spice. just about as nice as a white ale can be. very light and smooth.
3.0 Bottle. Slightly hazy light gold pour with a small white head. Aroma of lemon, orange, and wheat. Palate might be a touch thin, but it is crisp and clean. A touch drying on the finish. Not a bad wit.
2.2 Bottle. Hazy pale yellow body with a fizzy, white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of clove, toasted grain, soap. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Tart finish. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Strong soapy taste with a lingering bitterness. The combination of the two makes this almost undrinkable. Meh.
3.2 Aroma of oranges, lemon, spices. Opaque light orange colour. Taste is a little sweet and yeasty. Not bad.
3.4 (Bottled, "Brewed and bottled in Belgium by Sterkens Brewery Meer - Belgium", EAN 727482020578) Opaque pale yellow with a medium, firm and lacy head. Very strong ginger and coriander in the nose, with some citrusy-wheaty malt. Flavor is also loaded with ginger and coriander, leaving the wheaty tartness in the background. Light to medium body, medium CO2, quite refreshing. A refreshing witbier, but a bit watery, and quite straightforward in all its spiciness. I don’t mind the spices, though. 4243
3.4 Bottle (33 cl) from beerplanet.be. Clody milky white, rocky white head. Fresh and slightly pungent coriander and orange aroma, nice wheaty malt backbone. Light to medium body, firm carbonation, lacking the chewy mouthfeel of a really good Wit. Dry with low to medium bitterness, a slight acidic tang.
4.0 Pale is color, pours a thin white head. The aroma is one of orange and coriander, very pleasant. Taste of citrus. Taste is light and diminishes quickly with little to no aftertaste.
3.3 Strong coriander nose, light breadiness. Milky yellow, medium head. Crisp, super refreshing light body, a bit too spritzy. Coriander is dominant. Clean finish. Standard well made wit. The presence of coriander is stronger and more distinct than in most other wits, but beyond that it doesn’t stand out.
3.3 Very pale gold, rapidly diminishing white head.. Nice aroma, a little citrus, coriander, orange peel.. tasty, but lacking body & structure, finishes quickly.. fine sessionable white, good flavor but little complexity.
1.6 Bottle. Cloudy yellow color with no head , faint fruity and skunk aroma, flavor is not good, turpentine and bad pineapple juice
3.2 Serving: 12 oz. bottle from Total Wine Sterling. It pours a cloudy pale yellow with a small, lasting white head. The nose is coriander and a touch of dusty yeast. The flavor is light and lemony with a dry, yeasty finish. I would mind a touch more flavor, but it’s good summer fare.
4.6 "Lots of coriander upfront. Very unique." Says Jonathan. I agree with someone else who said its, "flavor is of white fruit with plenty of coriander, underripe banana and zest of orange. Well-balanced. Light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation." It’s light and refreshing.
3.9 Pours a very cloudy off white with tons of bits of sediment floating around, they way a witbier should. Citrus and coriander dominate the smell. Citrus flavors are up front and bready malts finish it off. Not breaking any boundaries with the taste but who cares this is a damn fine ale that is a true example of what a witbier should be. I’ll take it whenever I can get it.
3.2 Bottle. Cloudy gold with a tall, foamy white head. Aroma is strong citrus, spice, dusty yeast, banana, wheat and light bubblegum. Taste is big yeast notes, soft spice, citrus fruit, light banana, wheat, flowers and bubblegum. Body is light with a soft mouthfeel. Carbonation is spritzy and strong. Ends with more wheat and yeast up front with flowers, candied fruit, citrus notes and light spice rounding it out.
3.5 almost an exact replica of Hoegaarten. its amazing really. maybe a bit more spicy bite on the back of the tounge, but otherwise a perfect remake. im not complaining, mind you. its great. just eerie.
2.9 Poured from a bottle. Appearance is very pale gold with a huge white head of loose bubbles. Aroma is light and fruity.taste is light and somewhat grainy with a nice papery finish. Meh.
3.5 Spice and yeast aroma. Nice bottle. Coriander, yeast, sweet barley, then some slighty acidity in the finishing bite. Easy-drinking and at no point did the spices become too much. Well done witbier.
2.8 Taste is yeast, perfume, soap, candy and grass. Easy enough to drink, but not very interesting.
2.0 Light yellow coloured beer with a head that should hold a bit longer... Doesn’t look to good. Lots of yeast and wheat, citrus-fruits. Light spiced, but to much from the same... Nothing interesting. Good refreshing, but not my kind of beer. A bit watery, more soda. Seems to be brewed by Scheldebrouwerij ("Sterkens Brewery") and exported to the USA normally. totally diffirent label, but will be the same beer.
2.0 Brewed at... Ommegang? Available in Belgium in classic 33cl? Don’t think so... Scheldebrouwerij, probably;. Huge, very dense & fine white head over pale, lemonjuice-like, well-carbonated beer. Overwhelming, near-nauseating coriander smell, like an alternative bar of toilet soap. Likewise flavour, childrens’ softdrink-like, perfumed to the gills. Spritzy, soapy perfume keeps lingering on. Beer for the 13-yr. old fans of Gust’n Bibber.
2.2 Bottle at Trinity Hall. Label doesn’t mention Ommegang at all, but it’s listed under the same name. Pours a cloudy lemon yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma is big banana and clove spice. Belgian yeast is apparent. Also has a slight metallic smell. Not sure where that is coming from. I almost want to write lake water but I’m not convinced of that. Flavor is citrus sweet with a carbonation burn over the palate. Very tingly. Slightly watery finish however.
2.8 Sampled at Texas Beerfest. Pours a cloudy yellow with a large creamy white head that lasts awhile. The aroma is citrus and fruity tart. Thin mouthfeel with a flavor similar to the aroma tart and light finish. Easy to drink a decent Belgian wit.
3.2 bottle. Label says brewed in Belgium by Sterkens Brewery Meer, Belgium, imported by Noble Union Trading? Not sure why this is listed as Ommegang? Coriander and citrus on the nose with bread-like wheat. Pours a hazy yellow with a thin white head. Bready malts with coriander and hints of citrus, finishes wheaty with traces of spice. I think a little fresher this beer would be awesome.
3.0 33cl, no mention of ABV, exclusive brew, from De Hopduvel Gent, not complex brew, spicy and slightly sour, yet refreshing, balanced, cloudy, good head, nice Belgian White
3.4 Decent Witbier, middle of the road for the style, nice spice, nice citrus. It was cheap too.
3.1 Bottle. Pours a cloudy straw yellow with white fizzy head. Aroma is fairly light...notes of wheat, coriander and lemon. Flavor is much the same with a nice tang in the finish. Mouth feel is light, soft and a bit watery. Overall, a nice drinking, tasty, refreshing brew.....
3.4 Very good and extremely drinkable. Light bodied, yeasty, and lightly spicy. Well carbonated. Yeast in the finish with some lemon.
3.6 Bottle. Pours a hazed gold with a big white head. Nice soft wheat with some light spice and banana on the nose, a bit spicy and estery. Medium bodied, good amount of estery yeast coming through both flavor wise and visually with big ol’ chunks of it floating around in the drink. Dry finish with more esters. Nicely done.
2.8 (bottle - 330 ml) Clear pale yellow with a thin but fizzy white head. Mild spice and coriander in the nose with some wheat hints. Not much wheat though. Sweet and spicy at the start. Lots of orange and coriander flavors coming through immediately. Fades away to a dry and grainy middle with a very dry and flavorless finish.
