3.7 Bottle picked up from denn's, Dachau and consumed at home Attenkirchen, Bavaria, Thursday 4th April 2019 listening to The Shacks and having cooked Chicken and Chorizo Lasagne. Pours very dark brown with a light beige foam. Mostly chocolate on the nose with a little caramel and coffee in the background. Chocolate also comes to the fore in the mouth, however again a touch of caramel, roasty with a little liquorice also. Good.
3.4 50 cl. bottle. A dark black beer with a small beige head. Aroma and flavour of caramel, malt, smoke, chocolate, coffee and with a roasted finish.
3.7 Rubinowe lekko brunatne piwo, pod światło klarowne i przezroczyste. Obfita piana która dość powoli opada. Aromat czekolady, suszonych owoców, chleba i trochę żelaza. W smaku karmel, śliwki i trochę czekolady. Całkiem solidny porter, trochę więcej ciała i byłby bdb
3.4 This is a nice and tasty beer, tastes typically German with some added hops, but I suppose German hops. But a nice flavour to it.
3.3 Bottle from Denn's Biomarkt - dark broen color, small diminishing beige head. sweet, liquorlike. dark malts, rum fruits. dry finish. a porter! who would have thought by looking at that label? nice surprise.
3.7 Pours a pitch black coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smell is dominated by roasted, caramel malt and chocolate, with a hint of coffee and a certain herbal/grassy note as well. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by roasted, caramel malt, roasted coffee beans and bittersweet chocolate, with hints of licorice, tobacco and dark fruit: fig, plum. There is a light, herbal hoppiness in the background as well. Finishes with a medium/strong bitterness and some more licorice coming through in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. With its strong roasted notes and bitterness, this really reminds me more of a Baltic Porter than a Doppelbock. Good balance of chocolate and coffee, sweetness and bitterness, but body/mouthfeel could be richer. Still a nice brew, especially at the very low price.
CONCLUSION : bière sublime …
3.7 Nice strong caramel fruit plum taste. Bold flavours that fill the mouth. Nice beer, but not perfect. Rewe
4.0 (torréfié-fumé, ~épaisse (intéressant), fumé-sucré honneur malts, fin choco-µ-acide, 100% nat (et bio), pas baltic)
3.4 From the bottle. A foamy, beige head exits completely. Aroma full of toffee, coffee, dark bread. Taste is sweet, full of caramel. Body is medium, carbonation is soft. Somewhat more reminiscent of a dark bock than a porter. Not a huge amount of depth but still not bad.
3.6 Heavy caramely aroma. Sour to sweet taste. Lively carbonation. Bready with coffee notes. Great complex bitterness.
3.8 Hotel bier in Wandlitz Brandenburg. Dark clear brown color small tan head. Aroma has espresso, licorice, toffee. Taste has dark chocolate, toasted coconut, burnt licorice. Very tasty.
3.7 Fles 50cl thuis. Caramel, gebrande mout, zoeten, koffie, chocolade, toffee, hop (Smaragd). (12-2015).
3.4 W aromacie owocowe, jest trochę śliwek. Nie pachnie zbyt intensywnie i nie zapowiada zbyt wielkiego ekstraktu. Jest lekko żelaziste w aromacie. W smaku wytrawne, śliwkowe. Nie jest zbyt intensywne. Jak na portera bałtyckiego brakuje mu ciała. W porównaniu do naszych słaby.
3.6 (draught) deep brown colour with a creamy dark beige head. aroma of fudge and milk chocolate, with a light touch of brown sugar, some burnt malts, raisins and yeast. flavour is mostly sugar icing and earth, with lots of toasted malts, some more raisins, dark chocolate and a slightly ethanolic semi-dry finish. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.
4.0 A nice dark beer, pity for the foam, that doesn’t add up. Smells like a normal beer. Taste is very nice and warm
3.4 Bottle - 330ml. Pours a dark brown body with a thin, slowly fading, off-white foamy head. Robust malty aroma with hoppy, chocolate, oaky, and plummy hints. Its well balanced taste is very similar to the aroma. Ends with a moderately warming, sweet/woody finish. Enjoyable.
2.5 brown, black, frothy, white foam, tan foam, brown foam, minimal head, heavy cloying sweetness, lightly bitter, medium bitterness, lightly sour, light body, medium body, astringent, bitter, average carbonation, soft carbonation,
2.6 31.12.2017, 0,5l bottle @ home: Big fizzy-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, roasted grain, hay, minerals, yeast, grass, paper, dried grain, old wash cloth, sawdust, toast, hints of licorice. Taste is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, roasted grain, grass, hay, minerals, dried grain, dark sugar, paper, toast, licorice, sour coffee. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough, boring.
3.9 Kalea Advent Calendar. Low key coffee and tar aroma. Dark and glossy. initially frothy beige head soon retreated. Light bitter. Liqourice. Tar. Coffee. Berries. Some liqourice sweetness into the finish. Thick. Oily. Average carb. Relatively abrupt finish. Goes really wel with the turkey and ham pie and roasties I'm currently scoffing. Lovely rich beer.
3.8 Deep brown pour with a thin tan head. The aroma has a little bit of toasted malt, cocoa, soft fruit and a touch of coconut. Has a soft sweetness and a lingering malty finish. There's a soft milk chocolate flavour and a full mouthfeel. Pretty solid beer. Nice and clean maltiness. A touch of stickiness on the finish.
4.0 Dark brown pour, with reddish hues coming through, and a large beige head. Aroma is fruit, and quite roasty, coffee notes abound with burnt brown sugar and overly ripe figs. Silky mouth feel, an a soft carb. Finish is lightly bitter, slightly sweet, roasty, hints of cocoa and some light fruit. Excellent.
3.5 Bouteille. Couleur brune-noire, mousse mince meige.
3.9 Bottle 17 from Advent Calender, I did not have high hopes based on so many indifferent selections! But Stark Bier in this case means a Baltic Porter - particularly a LAGER yeast Baltic! Open the chilled bottle - uh-oh, no 'pop' of pressure released at all, but all is good, this brew pours far more like a cask ale than some commercial 'Stout' from Dublin. And there the ancient beer brilliance begins.,.. glass-coating tawny-brown goodness with fine bubbles. All manner of bready richness, light smoke and roast, and dry rooty licorice/kola herbals and hints chocolate and dark dried fruit - this baby has it all going on. Hides the alcohol as well as any finely-crafted ale can. This might just play out as one of the few truly interesting brews in the calendar, here so casually dispensed one week before the Holy Evening of Christ's birth which opportunity is squandered on that awful Weizen Bock I already drank (Aventinus would have been way more suitable for the 24th, although I assume they select them based somewhat on their cost concerns & to provide surprise and novelty every year which must also be a challenge.) Happy Birthday Lord Jesus.
