Stone Ghost Hammer IPA

Stone Ghost Hammer IPA

A fermenting beer never slumbers. Consequently, there is always scattered activity tending our precious beers throughout the dark hours. In these late nights and wee hours that hallowed responsibility falls to the shoulders of the overnight Brew Crew. These brewing soloists brave the long nights, often alone, to do what needs to be done. Most areas of the brewery are dark or in shadows. Throughout the night the cellars resonate with the occasional knocking of expanding and contracting pipes. It can be a bit spooky to hear the brewery creak and groan as if possessed by a spirit randomly knocking about with a mallet. This IPA, liberally hopped with Loral, honors our intrepid overnight team by naming it after their mischievous poltergeist companion – the Ghost Hammer.

3.6 Draft. A hazy golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of straw, citrus fruits, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus fruits, hops, straw, spices, and malt, leading to a bitter finish.
3.7 Pale yellow color with a thin white head and light lacing. Floral aroma with tropical citrus notes. It is light bodied with a typical west coast IPA bitterness. Nice.

3.9 A stone IPA named for the graveyard shift? Way to bribe my vote. But anywho, it is a Stone IPA, it's just a matter of if it is great or amazing. Points came up a bit shy of amazing, but I've yet to go wrong with an IPA from these Dudes.
3.9 12 ounce can - $2.49 at Total Wine & More in Alpharetta, Georgia. EJBY: 01/21/20. Appearance: Pours a light yellow-hued body with a light haziness about it. Slim, scant, white head. Smell: Lemon citrus fruitiness with a robust earthiness. Slim sliver of pith, a little pine gets going (as it warms). Taste: Brightly lemony overlaying dry crackery, white loaf bread maltiness. Lightly sweet. Remains lemony, touching on a bit of fresh zest, tangy juices and oils which are essential. Scantly floral, this Loral, as well as a bit earthy and pine-tasting. Well-integrated bitterness, though it recedes, leaving that light sweetness to swing back in. Finishes out as lemony as it began. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Lemony!
3.4 12 oz can from Brewers Haven. Deep golden pour with a small, tight creamy head. Aroma brings caramel malts ith a light astringent edge. Taste starts with more caramel malts before turning to resinous, piney, juniper hops. All around solid IPA.
3.9 Van 't vat. Wazig blond bier met wit schuim. Geur: voornamelijk veel citrus. Smaak: zoete aanzet, hopbitter, citrus, pompelmoes. Medium koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: droog, hopbitter. Lekker.
3.7 12-ounce can pours clear gold with a 1" foamy white head that dissipates within a few minutes, leaving behind a trace of head and lots of lacing. Aroma: some tropical fruits with honey. Flavor: honey, caramel, bread, cantaloupe, orange, guava, pine. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied, slick finish.
3.5 Can from Jungle Jim's pour clear avg gold with moderate white head. Nose citrus and light bread. Taste moderate bitter, citrus peel, and large grainy malt early.
3.8 Pours a near clear golden with a medium white head which disappears quickly.....aroma of citrus, sweet maltiness, hints of bread.....taste is slight dank up front, big malt in the middle finishing off with spicy bitterness. Nice.
3.5 Light gold pour, white head, touches of lace. Nose is fruity and peppery. Middle is papaya, pepper, medium kilned malt, a floral imprint. Finish is flowery, and a touch sweet.
3.8 14-OCT-2019, draft @Stone Brewing Escondido. Clear golden with a low, white head. Citrus, pine, dank. Full, sweet, very bitter. Fine.
3.8 Draught. Heavy resin, pine, and floral hops, moderate hop bitterness, medium white cracker malt, and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
3.4 On tap in a plastic cup in the San Diego zoo. Pours amber with a white head. Aroma of bitter and lightly citrusy hops, pale and caramel malts, dough. Flavor the same. Not the best stone ipa.
3.3 A little more hops with pine than I expected but still decent. Appearance is opaque bright yellow. Aroma is hoppy, more pine, not as tropical or fruity as hoped. Not bad, not great, drinkable. Palate was thicker than expected based on taste and aroma. Tap
4.5 From a can to a glass. Pours a clear amber color with a huge frothy creamy head. Aroma is piney hops upfront then some tropical, floral notes coming in. Taste follows the aroma with some earthy spices hops and some lemon zest aswel. Nice sweet malt backbone to balance it all out. Medium mouthfeel. Excellent west coast style ipa!
3.6 Bakgaarde Både & 070819.Golden color with a white head. Aroma is grapefruit, caramel. Flavor is berries, pine, grapefruit, caramel, malt, grass, brwad, herbs. Nice beer.
2.7 Tap@ Bakgården. Hazy golden body with a fine white head. Aroma has malt, ripe fruit and some toffee. Flavor is relativity smooth malt, caramel, ripe fruit, medium bitterness and butterscotch. OK body and too much butterscotch in aftertaste is ruin the experience for me.
3.6 On tap at Både&. It pours a hazy golden colored body under a two-finger white head. The aroma is piney and grassy, with a herbal licorice touch and some citrus zest. Pleasant maltyness in the back. The flavor is pretty much the same, with a nice bitterness. Pine cones, resins, grapefruit, herbal notes, some licorice, bread and a little malty sweetness. Full body and a nice carbonation level. Lasting hop driven finish with an underlying maltyness. Sort of old fashioned or unusual, but nice. 190807

3.6 Tap at Port Street Beer House. Peach, little bit of caramel, spices, candy, seems it's on the way toward getting old, but not just completely there. Hazy amber color with medium sized white head. Sweet fruit taste, caramel, peach and apricot, resin, floral, bitter, interesting. Thin to medium body, average carbonation.
3.9 Sampled at Helsinki craft beer festival. Aroma was very citrusy. Yellow and clear in color. A very west coast ipa, bitter, dry, and citrus. Dry bitter finish. A solid west coast ipa.
