Deep amber in color, Stone Pale Ale is robust and full flavored. A delicate hop aroma is complemented by a rich maltiness.

3.5Light amber with nice head and smells of biscuits and orange. Taste is citrus hops with some malty hits following it up. Pretty good pale ale.
3.612oz bottle 1/12/16 (Old Notes)-Pours amber with a nice head. Aroma of hops and malt along with the taste. This light bodied brew is well balanced and is a great Pale Ale.
3.2Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Cigarette City, Seabrook, NH. Aroma is weak and fairly nondeScript--light fruit/mild bread? Appearance is clear orange/amber with nice sparkle, finger-width off-white head with good persistence and fair lacing. Taste is light malty sweetness with late mild bitter. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thick, frothy texture/carbonation and mild bitter finish. Overall, gorgeous appearance but the rest is pretty pedestrian/forgettable.
3.9Amber with an average white beige head. Sweet malt and enough evergreen hops to give it just the right kick.
3.1Bottle at Yosemite. Deep amber colour, beige foamy head. Bavarian malts dominate the ale, caramel and grainy/bread, dry and bitter finish, a bit metallic. Medium carbonation and body.
3.812oz bottle. Hazy dark orange with thick frothy white head. Resin hop nose. Fairly one note strong hop taste. Pretty classic pale ale. Some herbal notes. Pretty good.
4.3Rating the non 2.0 one. The 1.0 version was orange pour and white fluffy head. Hops of pine and lemongrass. Flavor light malts and bitter pine hops. Finishes almost session like and very quench able.
3.2Bottle pour. Cloudy copper with a soapy off white head. Aroma is brown sugar, bread, and caramel. Medium to full body. Bitter with a little salty finish.
3.1(bottle) slightly hazy deep copper-amber colour with a frothy light-beige head. aroma of caramel, brown sugar and straciatella yoghurt, with a very light hint of green tea and floral hops. flavour is mostly earth, toasted malts and treebark, slightly alcoholic, with some more caramel, rosehip and a medium-bitter herbal-hoppy finish. light- to medium-bodied with average carbonation.
3.2Bottle. Amber in color with a nice head. Malty sweet upfront with a bitter finish.
3.2Tap. Pours clear pale Amber, small white head, some lacing. Aroma is pine, some Bready malt. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, bland. Medium body
4.0Stone shows versatility with a nice crisp, balanced pale ale. A dark orange hue, orange/tan head and soft nose of bready malt and citrus hops. The taste profile is nicely punched up for a pale ale (surprise, surprise) but definitely within style boundaries. Juicy citrus hops with a touch of orange are fresh and crisp on a medium sweet malt body. Clean and refreshing.
3.0Poured dark orange amber with a dense tan head. Aroma of lightly boiled cabbage. Medium body, flavour is medium sweet, lightly bitter. Bland.
3.1Deep copper amber, medium head and draped lacing.
Orange, citrus, no metal, no rust, clean up front followed by a little bitterness.
Quite pleasant with Thai food.

3.9I had this at Global Brew. Pours amber with a off white head. Taste bitter, citrus, malt. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.
3.7Very complex and balanced beer. Looks great in the glass, deep golden color long lasting thin white head with nice lacing. Balanced sweet and bitter flavors delivered in a clean refreshing palate. Definitely more than just a pale ale.
3.7Tap at Redhot Munich, 30th July 15. Pours clean and clear, aroma is bitter grapefruit slight metallic. Taste is bitter, citrus, bitterness lingers, refreshing. Very nice
3.7Bottle. Orange malt and peel aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet orange-pineapple malt and moderately bitter lightly herbal grapefruit peel flavor. Nice body.
3.4Bottle @ Bishops Arms, Gustav Adolfs Torg. Hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate hoppy - fruity. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 110715
3.012FL OZ ($20 12pack) pretty smooth Pale Ale. Liked this one for its taste too. came off a tad IPA like which was not so great but it was hoppy. but overall its a great beer.
4.4I am going to miss this old friend. Pale 2.0 is bad. This one was great pine and subtle floral hop aroma. Taste of light malts and super fresh hops. Great dry finish, a superb pale ale. Sorry to see it go.
4.0Smells of sweet malts and pine. It was quite complex and actually more like Arrogant Bastard than Stone IPA. Dark fruits on the tongue with more pine and hints of citrus and cherry. Far more robust than the ABV would indicate.
3.6Amber, hazy, tall head.
Full body, moderate flavor, silky texture, good carbonation, low heat, long palate. Moderate bitterness, dry but somehow pleasantly balanced, low acidity.
Hoppy but also very malty, resiny and yeasty.
Very drinkable, deliciously malty.
3.4Tap at La Puerta in San Diego. Pint mug. Impressive near amber color. Golden tinge. White froth about a half finger. Taste represents the Stone name well...plenty of bitter hops reign supreme. Almost overpowers all else but grassy and floral notes try to come through. Lingering aftertaste that is committed to the cause. Good aggressive pale ale.
4.0One of my favorite American Pale Ales. Though I am new to hoppy beers, I have enjoyed the Stone offerings.
3.5This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy burnt caramel color with a decent transparency about it. A semi - thick white foamy head dissipates to a rocky messiness running all around the glass.
The smell had a sweet caramel malts up front with a light roasty nuttiness and a light biscuity / breadiness. Hops are slightly grassy with a light citrus underneath.
The taste combines all of the previously mentioned flavors to blend yet keep mainly sweet through the malts. A lingering sweet maltiness leads in the aftertaste and leaves a semi-wet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed good for the style and for me. Bitterness is fairly subdued as an APA still good for the most part.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good APA that I could have again.
3.635.5cl bottle at Oosters, Singapore on 13/05/15, poured into a tulip glass. Amber colour - although a little bit hazy. Aroma of citrus, pine and malt. Light body and medium carbonation. Flavour of hops, fruit, caramel with bread and grain. Orange and some grapefruit. Bittersweet. A nice balance and easy to drink.
3.8Dark golden copper color with off white head. Piney grapefruit malt aroma. Bitter up front. Caramel malty with lots of piney hop flavor. Smooth but still bitter finish. Such a great brew.
3.7Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – For a pale ale this is really not all that pale with the beer pouring hazed, deep amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades moderately quickly leaving a lighter level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is strongest of a caramel aroma mixed with a little bit of a bready smell. Along with these aromas are some lighter smells of grassy smells as well as a little bit of a light fruit of apple and pear.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather bready and slightly grainy flavor with a hint of a grassy hop right upfront. Some caramel flavors are also upfront, with these growing slightly stronger to the middle of the taste but only increasing to later fade a bit as the taste moves on further to the end. Some of the light fruit flavors work their way onto the tongue throughout the taste all while the hop get more potent in taste. In the end the grassy and some more herbal and earthy hop flavors become more pronounced, and leave one with a rather bready and lightly sweet, sort of dank hopped pale ale flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium side overall with a moderate thickness and a medium level of carbonation. For the more dank hop, mixed with sweet and bread, the feel is rather nice as it keeps with the easy drinkability of a pale of 5.4 % all while highlighting the hop nicely.
Overall – A good pale ale overall. Quite nice in hops and malt all while keeping an easy drinking feel. Rather tasty.
