3.4 On tap at Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours a clear orangy amber with a small white head. Aroma is not super intense. Malty, light caramel, grassy hops, light peach and maybe some mango or orange. Taste is medium sweet, light, but finishes off pretty bitter. High carbonation and an average oily texture.
3.1 Pours golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is citrus, bread, caramel and floral. Taste is light bitters with a clean crisp finish. Medium bodied and overall a nice APA.
3.3 Draught@Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, some caramelly and mild grassy notes. Flavour is wooden, grassy, herbal and mild toffeeish notes.
3.2 Draught @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours golden orange with an offwhite head. Aroma of malt, little grain, grass, little citrus. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, malty, caramel, light citrusly hops. Medium body, average carbonation. 250516
3.4 Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are hops, flowers, caramel, fruits and malt. Nice bitter finish.
3.4 Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Hazy amber with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate hoppy - citrus. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 250516
2.8 Tap at mikkeller and friends, copenhagen. Clear amber color, white head. Aroma has hops, balanced malts, citrus notes. Balanced malty taste, hops. Little bit watery.
3.1 Tap@mikkellerfriends. Reddish amber clear. Bit dull nose. Some caramels, fine herby, light citrus. Med bodied, bit grainy malty. Caramels, bitters. Ok... but really a dissapointment from what could be expected from a stone pale ale. Feels sorta ordinary, ammost bulk pale aley. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
3.1 Tap@ Mikkeller and friends. Amber color, thin white head. Gooseberries, old fruits in aroma. Flavor has citrus , grapefruit, grassy notes. Dark fruity notes.
3.4 12 oz. bottle. Poured a clear amber pour with a small white head. Sweet malt flavor with a nice hop flavor. Nothing mind shattering, a touch more juicy than the 1.0 version, but nothing too over the top. Easy drinking.
3.6 Pours a cloudy golden yellow. Aromas of citrus and a little of the tropics. Smooth easy drinking with flavors of citrus, grass, and yeast.
3.1 Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly lasting. Body is medium to dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, graham cracker), lightly hoppy (grapefruit, apricot, orange), with notes of moss and black tea. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Kinda has that mossy "stale hop" odor of British ales. Not much hop aroma, surprising for Stone. Bit too sour for my tastes, but otherwise balanced ok. Nice appearance. Drinkable even if not all the way to enjoyable.
3.7 6%ABV. American Pale Ale. Tapped out light Amber. 15ºSRM. Nose has the sour hint of woodsmoke suggesting roasted malts. The is a Munich beery nose to this. Mouthfeel is sudsy. Palate has some nice roasted malty sweetness with nuts and honey and graham crackers. Hops are bitter, like good English bitters or a bitter of noble hop variety. Finish is sweet and bitter. A good solid drinking ale, reminds me most of German beer.
3.3 Cask gravity @ GBBF 2015. Pours a golden pale amber color with a small white head. Has a fruity citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty citrus hoppy flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy finish.
2.8 Let's start by saying asking why in the world they changed the original one for this one? Aroma is malt, caramel and slight hops. Taste is nothing of a pale ale, it resembles more to an amber style. Disappointed!
2.0 Bottle, 355ml. Clear amber/orange with a frothy/creamy to minimal tan head. Faint fruity and hoppy resin aromas, can barely make anything out. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Lightly bittersweet, with little character and into a weak fizzy finish. Disappointing from Stone, I don’t think I’d ever tried one that was brewed for cheapness. Also quite a step down from the classic Stone Pale Ale. Not good beer.
2.5 Bottle, 355ml. A clear amber beer with a small white head. Aroma is very mild, with malt, some hops and a hint of mandarine. Taste is slightly bitter, but not much going on. Flat and somewhat watery. The first Stone I didn’t like. Maybe for other breweries its ok to have something like this, but not for the bold and arrogant bastards of Stone.
3.1 Aroma a Malta y terroso Buen aspecto aunque un poco turbia Muy equilibrada de amargor y maltosidad Muy bebible
3.3 Pours a murky orange color. Descent flavor but they definitely do ipa better than apas.
3.6 Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 18B). Bottle 35 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: medium-low hop forward aroma with herbal / earthy notes. background of a mild sweet malty presence, with a toffee character. slight diacetyl perceived. APPEARANCE: ambar to dark color and slightly hazy. medium-low ivory head, creamy, with meidum-low retention. TASTE: as with aroma, medium hop forward flavor with floral/earthy and slight pine notes. background of a medium-low to low malty malt with a slight sweet toffee. medium-high bitterness that lasts into an almost dry and bitter finish and endures. balance towards floral/herbal hops. PALATE: medium-low body with a slight creamy texture. medium carbonation. no hop astringency. OVERALL:an APA with a more traditional hop, showing earthy and herbaceous notes, with just a bit of toffee-sweet like malt background.
3.3 Pours deep gold into a snifter. Tan micro head with excellent retention recedes to coat surface. Sour caramel aromas. Soft with sour caramel and resin front to back.
2.3 Farbe: umbra Schaum: fein, immer was da Nase: bitter, sauer, getreide aber aehr zurückhaltend. Geschmack: feinperlig, schaumig, aber verdammt sauer und bitter, das bittere bleibt dann auch im Nachgeschmack. Mir zu derb.
3.9 A nice alternative to the standard. This is citrusy and hoppy. Certainly an aggressive version of a pale. But it's stone, so no surprise there.
4.0 Well balance with appropriate amount of bitterness, not too sweet. I Like It.
3.0 kran w jabeer. bardzo spokojne, nieintensywne, z dosc wyrazna goryczka, bardziej w strone cytryny niz mandarynki w odbiorze, rzeskie, lekkie, pijalne. Ocena potraktowana skryptem do przeliczania ocen (uzgodnienie UT/RB).
3.1 amber red body with a very good whit head.smells of caramel, fruits, banana, pear,.it smells yeast too.the taste is bitter with some caramel and not so balanced malty sweetness, yeast, .it is low carbonated and the body is medium.
3.1 This is very unexceptional. It is clean and well brewed w/ a nice hop fruity hop character. It is a bit on the bland side though and even though it is fairly full bodied it comes off as a bit watery due to only very mild bitterness in the finish. There is really nothing wrong w/ this but it’s just not terribly flavorful and given that there’s tons of six percent alcohol beers that are, I don’t see myself wanting to drink this again.
3.4 Bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Clear golden orange color with off white head. Malty and light hoppy aroma, grainy, light caramel, light grassy. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma with some citrus notes. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
