Stone Scorpion Bowl IPA

Stone Scorpion Bowl IPA

To create a recipe so tropical and fruity without the addition of fruit was no feat our team of brewers would leave up to the gods. They took floral and citrus notes from Mosaic, Loral and Mandarina Bavaria hops to dish up a mouthwatering fruit punch to the palate. Get deserted on your own island or share with others. One thing is for sure: there is no need to light this one. It is already on fire.

3.7 Clear golden color with medium off-white head. Aroma has caramel, citrus, pine and resin. Taste is malty sweet with long bitter and dry aftertaste. Flavors of grapefruit, resin, needles and pine.
3.7 Can. Pours a clear golden yellow with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and grass. Flavor of orange, citrus, tropical fruit, pine and grapefruit.
3.7 sehr gelungenes IPA! Fruchtig ohne ende, schön rund gebittert, Maracuja und Citrus.
3.2 0.355 l can from Goblet Beer Store, Zagreb. Shared with little Dina. Hazy orange with a golden glow, medium frothy off-white head. Maybe not perfectly fresh. Aromas are indeed fruity, but with a strong earthy undertone, leaves and herbs. Chewing gum, stone fruit marmalade, such as apricot or peach. A sugary and slightly perfumy touch. Flavour is fruity candy, leaves, earth, malts, even light cardboard. Light to moderate bitterness, lasting throughout. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Strong, although alcohol is hidden. Slightly sticky.
3.6 Iz Mas Plenuma Rijeka. Sladno-voćno-hmeljna aroma. Tijelo je nešto konkretnije , i umjereno gazirano. Okus je sladno-voćan i nešto malo gorčiji od prosjeka.. Uglavnom , jedna klasična IPA ..
3.2 Bottle @ Home. Clear golden beer with a finger of white foam. This is really kind of bland, actually. Floral and herbal hops up front. Fair amount of oily citrus as well as some pine. The flavor is mostly just resinous pine and oily citrus bitterness. Not really even much in the way of malt. I guess there’s a bit of acidic tropical fruit and a slight spiciness. Meh.
3.6 Look: Pours applejuice yellow almost clear. Faint yellow medium head. Nose: Applejuice, malts, faint hops. Taste: Apple, Spices, malts, crisp, some bitterness in the after. Overall: Nice IPA with great bitterness - not juice-fruity but still interresting.
3.7 Very old backlog, on tap at Stone in Berlin. Light yellow gold, clear, white foam. Big fruity hop flavour and a smooth bitterness, nice.

3.6 Can, 0.355l. Cloudy copper pour, half finger frothy off-white head. Good retention, lasting head. Solid lacing on the glass. Nose is a bit on the malty side, caramel, herbs and grass. Questionable freshness, hoping the taste is ok. Medium body, average carbonation. Good mouthfeel and texture, chewy, nice thickness to it. Herbal bittersweet taste and aroma. Herbs and grass, caramel malt. Mild spiciness. Floral and fruity notes in the background. Tropical fruits, citruses, orange peel. Long lasting finish, dry, lingering bitterness. Mild alcohol burn on the tongue. Good.
3.8 Clear golden color with low white head. Aroma: hard candy, pine, ripe papaya. Taste: hard candy, caramel, resin, grapefruit, cantalouope. Medium body, moderate carbonation, high and long lasting bitterness. Quite a classic American IPA with loads of hops and pleasing high bitterness.
3.7 Pours clear gold, big white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, citrus, grass, flowers. Taste is a touch of sweet malt, plenty of grass, hay, and soft fruitiness, hint of bitterness. A nice juicy IPA.
3.8 Aroma is citrus, clove, lemon grass and dankness. Taste has relatively low malt character. The earthy and dank hops have a subtle soapy and oily finish. Refreshing overall but not quite so sessionable.
3.2 Tropical fruits that are way too sweet. Bitter finish. It is just too sweet for my taste. I do like sweet beers but this is too much. Still I have had worse.
3.5 Aroma afrutado. Buena retención.
4.2 Terrific tropical IPA. Bursting w fruit & citrus flavor, quality hops
3.7 355ml can bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. A bright warm golden body under a firm, pearl white head, clingy lacing down the glassware. Inviting aromas of citrus and leafy hops. Succulent hoppy taste character, moments of orange, pineapple, and dried fruits. Rounded resinous bitterness to the aftertaste. Fine bodied. Pleasing ipa version. (Tromsø 05.08.2020).
4.3 12 oz can. Pours deep golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head and soda like carbonation. Aroma is of citrusy hops, bready malt and tropical fruit. Body is full and crisp. Herbal hops dominate the palate with bready malt and tropical fruit in the background. Finish is long and very hoppy. Excellent brew.
3.0 Can. Golden color. Dried citrus and floral notes in the aroma and flavor, sweetish. Floral hopbitter, perfumed finish.
4.0 Gyllen farge med lavt hvitt skum. Aroma av furu, sitrus og malt. Smaken er samme. God bitterhet. Medium konsistens.
3.9 Can. Golden pour. Aroma of crispy grapefruit, pine, citrus, orange and bready malt. Taste has bitter resinous hop, grapefruit, pine, bready malt, subtle caramel, bitter orange and citrus. This is what I miss nowadays, a bitter fruity ipa with a nice crisp to it. Very nice.
2.8 Pours clear pale peach gold with a soapy white head that hangs awhile. Aroma is tropical citrus. Taste follows but it’s a pale citrus and grapefruit bitter. Dry. Not a fan.
3.4 Drukket på Bergstua. Gyldenbrun. Lavt tett skum som blir film. Spotlacing. Klementinaroma. Smaken tropisk frukt. Tørr avslutning.
4.2 Very nice Ipa , Smell passion fruit , Hoppy , Orange Pale , Heavy body with high Alc. I Love it : Everything nice.

3.9 Found out or bottle from a variety pack at BP in Sylva, North Carolina. Pours a clear gold with a lasting layer of white foam. Enjoyable blend of hops. Sits a bit heavy but the taste more than makes up for it.
1.0 acquired in a Variety 12-pack of bottles purchased from my local Stater Brothers. A bad pour on my part results in a massive Whitehead on top of a clear golden body. It smells profoundly of citrus hops almost like oranges. Honestly it tastes burnt, or skunk. I'm not feeling this at all. On tasting this is everything I don't like in an IPA made manifest.
4.1 12oz bottle. Guess I never rated this one or it is deep in the backlog. Filtered orange-tan body. Big, steady, white head. Awesome, world class hop tone. Big, fruity Mandarina Bavaria tone, candied orange awesomeness. Has a classic malt backdrop, providing some depth that is woefully absent from most well hopped IPAs of 2020. Filtration keeps it really clean. Great beer.
3.8 Can from Mr. Hop. Aroma is piney hop with citrus, orange, grapefruit, pine resin, malt, touch of caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet with a bitter finish. Body is medium. Piney and bitter, very good IPA in the Stone tradition. I strangely miss the days of hunting for Stone, Alesmith and Port Brewing beers...
