Stoudts American Pale Ale

Stoudts American Pale Ale

This uniquely American beer offers a crisp, medium-body with a light amber color. It is assertively hopped with Pacific Northwest Cascades for a firm bitterness and delightfully floral aroma.

3.6 Transfer from BA review from 6-18-12 - Poured from bottle into mug pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a lighter golden color with a medium white head. The head faded relativly fast leaving a lighter amount of lacing. Smell – The smell is of barley malt as well as hints of caramel. Mixed with these are some floral and citrus hop aromas. They are lighter overall, but blend well. Taste – The taste begins a little sweeter with a bready base. Toward the middle some of the sweetness fades as a light citrus hop flavor comes to the tongue. At the end a lighter bready flavor mixed with the citrus linger on the tongue and leave a refreshing, crisp, flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is light to average in nature with the carbonation being on the higher side. The thinner body and higher carbonation both create and enhance the easy drinking style of the brew. Overall – Good easy drinking brew with a good set of flavors. While the flavors and aromas are lighter in nature (one of the reasons it is so easy drinking) they all meld well and create a nice brew.
3.3 Poured from 12 oz. bottle at Chanticleer Garden in Wayne, PA near Philadelphia. Clear, medium amber-orange with a pale khaki head and good lacing. Aroma of caramel floral hops and pine. Taste of caramel, floral hops, pine and earthy herbal hops. Full/medium body and low/medium carbonization.
2.8 At a tasting, thanks zvikar, s,allish head, hazy and a little light orange colour, citrusy herbal aroma, fruity honey candy flavour, medium bitternes, pronouncable sweetness that is a bit of a bother. Drinkable but nothing out of the ordinary.
3.9 Pours hazy golden, two finger head with moderate lacing. Aroma of pine, grapefruit. Taste is nicely bitter well balanced with the malt sweetness. Medium body, highly carbonated, slightly creamy. Finishes crisp with lots of citrus and a hint herbal. Good American Pale Ale.
3.2 Bottle shared at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Pours an hazy orange to yellow with a nice head, aroma of orange, lemon and marmalade, flavor is bitter, pretty dry, bread, grapefruit, malt acidity, medium bodied.
2.9 Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks zvikar. Hazy deep golden,. Aroma of citric hops, rather stale, and some malt. Flavort has light sweetish maltiness, citric hops, a bit stale and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Not fresh enough.
3.4 bottle. Pale amber with small head. Pretty standard hoppy pale ale. Slightly above average. Medium body with big crisp hops.
4.9 This beer is more impressive than I expected. Very good bitter, pale, and hoppy with the right amount of alcohol. Great beer!
3.4 Draft at JBs. Pours a fairly clean golden orange with 1 finger of white head and some decent lace. Nose of grass, caramel, pine, orange, grapefruit. Medium body, decent hop flavor, sessionable.

3.5 Clear amber/gold color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of floral hops, malt, & some citrus; Flavor of malt, pine hops, caramel, citrus, and some grain; Finish is slightly bitter; Nicely balanced; Solid APA.
3.3 Pale Amber with thin rimming offwhite head; aroma is sweet hops; Flava is slightly hoppy and malt graininess; feels fizzy and abut light; finishes dry and bitter
3.3 Laces the entire glass, nice grapefruit aroma. Solid hop presence. Pretty standard, enjoyable but nothing crazy that sticks out. Overall character leaves a pretty boring impression, safe but good. Not much citrus in the flavor profile, fairly dry.
1.9 Yellow with a white head. The aroma is not bad. I get some biscuit and pine notes. The flavor on the other hand is not good at all. I get some grass notes, but the beer also tastes old and has a horrible aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
2.7 bottled, thanks to mora2000, clear golden pour with a citrus malt aroma, thin papery hops flavor , thin finish
3.3 Nice head and nose. Taste and palate is a little underwhelming, but with decent malt structure and modest floral hop notes.
2.0 Appearance: clear golden color, small off white head Aroma: hoppy and grassy Taste: hoppy, grassy, bitter Palate: light, bitter aftertaste Overall: a typical IPA to me, not overly bitter, not my favorite beer style but I will finish this one
1.5 Tasted from a bottle. It had a foul smelling aroma that mellowed out to ok at best. Cloudy amber color with a bitter taste.
2.0 Pours fine with good head. Very strong sour aroma, not pleasant, Although it didn’t last long! It has a very bitter and bad hoppy taste. Not a good experience.
3.2 Picked this up from Brews Brothers to try while moving. A solid pale. Grass hop to caramel scent. Older bottle? Slightly cloudy copper pour with a big foamy head. Medium bodied, slight sticky feel. Grassy hop, bitter touch of caramel to fruity orange taste.
3.4 Orange amber body, moderate sized off white head. Solid lacing. Light grapefruit, pine, and grass notes. Subtle pale malts. Flavor loses some depth from the nose as the hop notes get washed out by the pale malts. Medium bodied, appropriate carbonation, light bitterness in the finish.
3.3 Draft. Light amber with good white head. Quite hoppy, with some citrus and malt. Very drinkable and refreshing.
3.8 Refreshing. Nice crisp bite when it hits the back of the tongue. Underwhelming overall flavor.
3.2 Pours a clear honey color with a medium off white head. Aroma has some citrus and earthy hops...some straw. Flavor has some tea and earthy bitterness...a bit of orange and spice. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is dry and earthy/bitter.
3.5 Not much coming out of the bottle aroma-wise, but it pours nice. Decent white head that faded into about half a centimeter that stuck around. Taste is slightly hoppy but not overly bitter, good smooth following and nice rich palate. Decent simple ale.
3.3 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy orange/gold with thin, creamy white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma cereal and biscuit malt, orange peel, lemon, grassy hops, and herbs. Flavor is balanced sweet malts and floral hops with good citrus esters and light grassy notes; dry, semi-sweet finish. Medium body and low carbonation.
3.3 Bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, and resin hops with biscuit and cracker malt with apple and pear fruity esters. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, light malt and fruity esters with a dry finish. Medium-light body and medium carbonation.
3.5 Pours clear deep gold color with huge white head and lacing.  Aroma of spruce and pine, some yeast.  Tastes of pine and floral hops with touch of sweetness.
3.5 Bottle. Crisp and refreshing like a good apa. Very hoppy but not overdone with a little fruity sweetness.
3.6 Pours yellow with a faint view of amber, off white head that accompanys you for the session aromas are of hops of course the IBUs are low on this one its not bad for a rating just not at the top of the list for a style that I try to stay away from
