This Bavarian-style unfiltered wheat beer is brewed with 50% malted barley and 50% malted wheat. Our signature blend of German yeast strain imparts a flavor and aroma reminiscent of bananas, cloves and bubblegum.

2.8Bottle. Pours a mostly clear golden color with absolutely no head. Nose is very yeasty, with some of the banana and clove that the description mentions. Taste is just slightly sweet. Somewhat heavy feeling for the style.
3.1Pours a bright gold with a small head. Strong citrus and banana notes. Slightly sweet, with some tanginess as well. A decent hefeweizen.
3.2Sampled at GABF on Saturday October 13, second session
Cloudy yellow color, white head. Sweet, banana scent. Sweet, banana taste. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.
3.3Yeast orange and wheat on nose. Slightly creamy mouth feel with moderate carbonation. Finishes with yeast, wheat, citrus, slight vanilla, and clove. One of the better American attempts at a hefeweizen. I was surprised at the likeness to a German hefe.
3.2Strong aroma is yeasty and wheaty with an undertone of orange. Pours a clear, rather wan yellow with a frothy white head - let us hope that appearance is the one weak spot. Flavor, fortunately, is better - yeasty and wheaty, a hint of citrus, not outstanding but still refreshing. In the body and fizz departments, mouthfeel is about average. OK if not the best - give it a try if you like this style.
3.5Cloudy, golden pour with a nose of banana and cloves. Taste is mildly sweet with a distinctive banana presence. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. Very nice.
3.7Draft at The Pour House in Westmont, NJ.
Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow color with a one finger, frothy white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks of lace left behind.
Zesty spice aroma with some pepper, coriander and clove along with bready yeast, light fruit and citrus. There’s also a subtle banana character but the citrus/lemon and spice notes are most prominent.
Medium bodied but fuller than expected with a really nice balance of zesty spice, bready yeast, light fruit and crisp citrus. Heavily spiced with strong clove and pepper flavor that’s nicely complimented by citrus juice and lemon zest. Slightly tart with some banana and bread notes toward the finish. Well balanced, really refreshing and easy to drink.
3.4bottle. golden with small head. big clove with subtle banana. pretty darn good for an American hefe.
3.1Cloudy yellow color. Toasty grain and light wheat. Crisp grassiness. Banana and a little grassy finish. Slight bitterness but a yeast bitter not hop bitter. Decent but nothing I would die to try again.
3.6On tap at PH, pours a murky gold straw color, thin loosely bubbled head, no lacing. Aromas of spice, lemons, german yeast, and grains. The commercial description is dead on with regards to flavor, tons of clove spice, orange peel, bubblegum, coriander, underripe bannana, and yeast. Aftertaste is spiced, with a little peppermint vanilla. Very refreshing.
3.512 ounce bottle - $2.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Illegible, smudged dating on the neck of the bottle, unfortunately.
Appearance: Pours a lightly clouded, pale gold body with a small-sized, short-lived, white head.
Smell: Very gently toasted golden wheat nose with smooth banana notes and spicy clove accents. A little lemon showing moments later.
Taste: Malty wheat with some crunchy toastiness to it, perhaps a low touch of grain. Lightly honeyish quality and not overtly sweet. Faint, faded lemon fruitiness, then, the near-ripe bananas followed by spicy notes from the clove phenols and German hops. Drying finish pointed by the crispish carbonation.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Passably refreshing and sufficiently representative for an American-born hefe.
3.7my only real complaint is this was a little too filtered to be a german hefe. it looked more like an american wheat or wit. but otherwise, probably in my top 2 or 3 of american made hefes. i hope they make this a regular part of their lineup.
2.9On tap at Rattle N Hum, July 2012. Hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma and taste of spices, bubble gum, pepper and glove. Drinkable but not that interesting.
3.2Bottle. Hazy pale golden pour with a medium-sized, fluffy white head. Aroma was lots of clove, bubblegum, creamy banana. Flavor was that plus some light malt. Fairly sweet. Creamy, slightly thick mouthfeel. Solid hefe.
3.77/16/12. 12oz bottle from Grassroots. Hazy golden pour with a nice off-white head that cuts in half but lasts and laces in foamy rings. Creamy banana aroma with light spice and a definite creamed corn aspect. Very nice flavor though with cream, banana, marshmallow, light spice, esters, and more. Surprisingly good based on some of their other offerings.
3.7Bottle: Pours a hazy golden color with a thin off-white head. Yeasty aroma has hints of bananas, lemon peel, wheat, and cloves. Flavor is banana and wheat with a spicy tingly mouthfeel that finish with a mild dryness. A refreshing and well-done Hefe.
2.7Pours a pale yellow with no head. Aroma of wheat with banana. Taste follows, really watered down. Banana and wheat are there but faded. Not great
3.0Cloudy yellow with a heavy wispy head. Mild aroma with a hint of citrus. It has a modest sweet taste with a very long and smooth finish. It is definitely a summer quaff for long afternoons.
3.0Hazy straw yellow with a vanishing white crown. Aroma is bready with grains, lemon, nuts and mild banana. Taste of banana, clove, wheat and light caramel wrapped up in an overly fizzy body. Finishes dry and yeasty.
2.9Musty hefe aroma, a bit of wet dog and wet cardboard in there. Bad label, standard US longneck bottle, somewhat foggy gold beer, thin filmy white head. A pleasant bitterness, pretty dry, biscuity. Some light floral notes on the backend. Sturdy mouthfeel - the palate of this beer was its best feature. New Leaf Market - try it with the textured soy vienna sausages.
4.1Pours a hazy golden color with a medium foamy white head...nice lacing and retention! Aroma has greag clovey spice notes with just a hint of banana. Flavor follows suit...nice and spicy...mild on the fruit but still yeasty. Mouthfeel is medium/full with a dry, clovey finish. Great hefe.
3.2Draft sample at Rattle with Andrew after the Tallest Man on Earth show @ Town Hall. Pours a deep, hazy orange yellow body with thick white lacing. Aroma is wheat, banana, and yeast. Mouthfeel is carbonated, creamy with notes of spice, yeast, clove, banana, and wheat.
3.8Aroma is bananas, lemons and cloves/spices. The flavor is bananas, bubble gum, a mild fruit undertone and a mixture of sweetness and tartness in the finish.
3.2Pours cloudy straw with slice notes. Textural palate drives fruit hints with a lingering spice and clove finish
3.312oz bottle in a weizen glass. Pours dark golden with a white head. Aroma of caramel malts, a little wheat, and some floral hops. Flavor about the same, but there could be more wheat. Average texture. A decent beer.
0.6Bottle. Actually tastes a bit sour. Brighter than expected yellow pour with very little head. Not refreshing. Not a fan.
3.5bottle poured into a cheater pint
a: cloudy yellow, small head with ok retention
s: clove, dull earthyness, hint of sweetness
t: clove provides the balance with wheat, light notes of flowery hops, a nice hefe
m: light and refreshing, slick
o: good example of the style.
2.7Refrigerated bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours slightly hazy golden with small white head that dissapates extremely fast. No lacing, carbonation leaves fast, and medium body. Taste is slighty sour wheat, some banana, and a hint of clove. Below average for a hefeweizen.
3.812oz bottle. Unfiltered, so the sediment is on bottom, and this should be poured all in one glass. Really hazy soft yellow color, no head, barely any lace. Nice clove, banana, spice vanilla wheat aroma. Mild sweet taste. Barely carbonated, which I like, very drinkable. Nice aftertaste, great texture. M: "Juice-refreshing feel. Some citrus."
3.3Pours hazy yellow with quick dissipating white head. Aroma is yeast, citrus, clove and banana. Taste is sweet with a hint if citrus tartness. Smooth and easy to drink.
