Stoudts Karnival Kölsch

Stoudts Karnival Kölsch

Our new spring seasonal beer, Karnival Kolsch is arriving just in time for our Fasching Karneval . We are very excited about the release of this beer. For the first time in Stoudt’s history, we are releasing a brand new beer that has already received a medal at the Great American Beer Festival. This refreshing German-style ale was brewed using 2-row malt, a small amount of red wheat malt, and all German hops for bittering and aroma. This straw colored ale is smooth like a lager due to the colder fermentation temperature and extended cellaring time. It is dry and crisp with a slight fruitiness which compliments the mild hop bitterness and aroma. This light ale is a fresh complement to most foods, but in particular fish, chicken, and salads. Karneval Kolsch will be available at your local distributor soon.

3.3 12 oz. bottle. Pale yellow color with a white head. Malt, fruit and hops aromas. Easy to drink and not overly complex.
1.9 Bottle. Smells like a lager and tastes like almost nothing. Which is great on a hot day when you’ve just been fired. So there’s that.
3.8 Draft at Blackback. Pours pale yellow, brilliant with sticky white head. Nose is grainy with moderate fruity notes. Subtle hopping and clean. Faint sulfur. On tasting, low fruity and malt notes, imminently drinkable and clean. Really nice Kolsch.
3.2 Clear golden color with bright white foam. Good looking beer. Aroma is light malt and hops. Very mild. Say malt taste up front with some hops in the middle and a slightly bitter finish. Decent easy drinking Kolsch.
3.0 From tap at Ginger Man. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light grassy. Grassy, bitter, light herbal and dry. Lasting dry, herbal and grassy finish.
3.5 Yellow with little but lacy white head; not much aroma; Flava is soft and slightly sweet graininess and slight saltiness; feels fizzy light and crisp; finishes with distinct grain/wheat notes
3.3 bottle. Golden with one finger head. A bit floral. this style is definitely growing on me. crisp and tasty.
3.0 Hazy light yellow pour, fat then thin cream head, with a crisp floral grain flavor to it. Leaves you with a slight mouth feel of soap. Not a typical style for my palate. However, these disjointed flavors come together for a refreshing session German beer.
4.0 a great version of a hard to brew style. this one had a beautiful pale golden straw color and gorgeous thick bright white head. nice flowery hop aroma, crisp, light body -- though a bit heavier than most kölsch beers i’ve had. slightly grainy note, but finishes clean, with good hop bitterness -- a little more bitter than most other versions i’ve had. great light warm weather beer!
3.6 Pale straw yellopw body, medium sized white head, soapy lacing. Grassy with lick crackers grain lemon zest. Light bodied, lively carbonation, refreshing crisp finish with just a little kick of bitterness.
3.8 Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 5/23/13, 200th Rater of this one Aroma: This one has a fresh cut grass aroma, with plenty of bread and grain malts Appearance: It pours a clearish orange-golden color with a small white head and some sticky lace Flavor: Tastes grassy, grainy, a lightly fruity, with a nice, light sweetness and light-medium bitterness Palate: The body is fairly light, it has a lively carbonation, a clean feel, and a lightly dry finish Overall Impression: This one is actually a really nice, clean, easy to drink beer. I could see this being a perfect beach beer, as it is light and easy to drink without sacrificing flavor (a tough tightrope to walk). Well done.
3.6 12 oz bottle. The pour is a pretty standard yellow-gold color with a fluffy white head on top. The aroma is mostly grassy and biscuity, but with some lemon and herbal undertones as well. This is clean, refreshing, and easy going down, albeit a bit unexciting. The flavors consist of cereal grains, crisp grassy hops, bready malt, and light citrus. A pretty solid warm weather brew I’d have no problems having again.
3.2 Jacksonville, Fl - Grassroots Natural Market - 12 oz bottle. Pours a bright sparkling medium golden with a thin snow white head, some lacing. Aroma has some fresh lake water accents, a hint of grain, saaz hoppines akin to some German lagers. Flavor has some underlying buttery notes, some grainy notes, a touch of nuttiness. Mouthfeel has a nice texture to it. Refreshing - would make a good lawnmower beer.
3.2 Yellow with a white head. Aroma of wheat with some lemon thrown in. Flavor is wheat and biscuit malt with some grass. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
3.1 Draft at Proof. Clear light golden pour with soapy white head. Faint grassy and pale malt aroma with grass and bread. Sweet bready malts up front fading into pale grains with a floral and grassy hop finish. Light bodied and very drinkable. Not too bad.
3.4 Pours a clear golden yellow with thick bubbly white head and good lacing. Aroma of bready grains, sweet fruity esters, and bananas. Taste is mostly just the grainy malts, but light and easy to drink. Meh.
3.2 bottle, thanks to mora2000, clear yellow color with roound fruity flavors of green jolly ranchers, slick finish
2.6 Fresh bottle. Yellow, white head that disappears. Nose is straw, grass, not much else. Taste is straw, grass, lemon, very light hops. Very thin and watery.
3.6 3/2/13. 12oz bottle. Slightly hazed golden pour with a nice big white head that is thick, frothy, sticks, and laces a ton. Quite nice, actually. Lovely doughy and biscuity malty aroma with a touch of sweetness, hay, and grass. Lightly sweet, malty flavor with a hint of fruitiness, grass, hay, and plenty of doughy malts. This is actually quite nice for what it is. I dig it!
3.3 Draft at Frankford Hall with Dallas, Ann, Andrew and Jen. Pours a clear amber golden body with average white head and some lacing. Aroma is plain lager - nothing offensive though. Mouthfeel is clean, crisp and refreshing. Overall a nice sessionable kolsch.
3.5 Draft at Frankford Hall. Clear yellow pour with a thin head. Crisp aroma, not aggressive. Taste is like classic beer. Super sessionable. Had this with bratwurst and sauerkraut. great combo.
3.7 Pleasantly surprised. Fruity, light, soft with creamy head. Very light hops that mix in just nice with the structure of the beer. Refreshing and tasty. Grassy and fresh. Would definitely enjoy getting a case of this in a few months. Could see many beer types and non liking this one.
3.4 I don’t drink many Kolsch style beers. This one is satisfying. Draft. Light yellow with think head. Medium lacing. Aroma of fruit, flowers and bread. Mild flavor with light hoppiness and very wheat bread taste. Slight bitterness on the tongue. Very refreshing.
3.2 Tap. Pours clear yellow with thin, fizzy white head; short retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is cereal and cracker malts, oranges, pears, light floral hops, and light sugar. Flavor is dry, bready malts, light fruit esters, light floral hops, and light grassy notes; crisp, dry finish. Light body and low carbonation.
3.2 Tap. Pours clear light gold with a medium, fizzy white head, short retention with good lacing. Aroma is light Pils malt with spicy hops and faint corn notes. Flavor is malt dominant with medium hops and bitterness and a clean lager character with a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.
3.4 Draught at Beer Authority NYC sept 2012. Clear golden beeer with a small white head. Hoppy and bready aroma. Malty, grassy, hoppy and fruity flavour.
