Albert. Able. Gordo. Miss Baker. Bonny. Goliath. Between 1948 and 1961 these primate pioneers and others bravely went where no man had ever gone before, paving the way for manned U.S. spaceflight. This hoppy little monkey of a beer is a tribute to those Simian heroes of yesteryear. It has a citrusy, floral hop aroma, a strong malt body and a crisp finish.

3.2How on earth did a keg of this end up in Scotland? Alabama barely ever makes it to Florida but alas it did and I grabbed a can. Orange pour. Nose is sugary malt and some pine. Tastes of caramel, orange, malt, pine. Bitter and fruity. Straightforward
3.2Malt and some pine. Run of the mill. Orange pour with ok head. Light bitter finish. Can.
3.6Keg at brewdog Edinburgh. Pours orange, nose is malty, lemon zest, hints of cake, taste is zesty citrus, pine, sweet
3.4Keg at brewdog Edinburgh... Deep amber.. Thin white lacing... Soft sweet crystal caramel toffee fruit nose.. Light caramel...
3.7Copper with a white head. Sweet, tropical fruit, grapefruit, peach. Caramel malts. Medium bodied. Finish has a chuck of sweet malts and bitter hops. Nice.
3.1Can. Underwhelming. Expected better due to high rating. Somewhat metallic
3.0Gorgeous pour, coming out the can a rich orange-gold with a massive white top and layers upon layers of lace. Not so great of an aroma, mostly offering up caramel with hints of pine and citrus. Tastes pretty average for an IPA, skewing slightly English in its malt-centric sweetness, caramel and candy apple and tea backed by modest orange-citrus notes and a piney, floral finish. Good texture, creamy but bright. Pretty skippable overall, though.
3.612oz can at home. Hazy copper with a frothy off white head with good retention and lacing. Grapefruit, tangerine, peach, orange rind, pine, resin, caramel. Lingering bitter finish. Good IPA
3.5nothing great going on here. aroma and flavor is overly malty. they really need to work on their balance. kind of breaddy. had out of a 12oz can in myrtle beah. this brewery blows donkey dick.
3.3Light IPA smell with light flowery aroma, taste is the same...Light IPA with some floweryness....Smooth...Not too hoppy...decent
3.7Sticky caramel candy, sugar and bitter hos. Sweeter than expected but the hops evens this out.. On tap at some bar in Memphis.
3.1On tap at The J Clyde, Birmingham, AL, 2.5.16. Clear amber. Hoppy, fruit, mango and melon aroma, fruity and a little oxidized taste - mildly bitter and sweet. Medium body, alcoholic finish, soft fizz and alcoholic aftertaste.
3.5Can. Amber with minimal head. Dank, grassy, grapefruit hop aroma with a light floral honey note. Tastes like it smells with a mild sweetness but mostly bitter. Medium body with an oily feel.
3.5Draft at the source. Copper color with a white head. Fine-grained lacing. Aroma is citrus and malt with faint pine and floral elements. Taste has a little more pine and bitterness than the aroma indicates, but it also has a nice malty base. Good.
3.7Pours a nice deep amber color. Aromas of hops/hops/citrus and pine. Strong hop flavors with malts and a nice dry, crisp finish.
3.9Draught > Proud Larrys. Wow, what a surprise this is. I ordered it taking a flyer and was hooked from the first sip. Super flowery and hoppy crisp w/ a decent malty backbone. I’m guessing Centennial hops?? This is a great IPA! Nice job straight to ale.
3.9On tap at Edleys poured a clear golden amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of bread, earthiness, pine and citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, pine and light citrus with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.
4.5Poured from the tap into a pint glass at the brewery. The appearance is a cloudy orange amber with a large white head. The aroma is hops and citrus. The taste matches the aroma. An excellent beer.
3.5Pours light copper. Big white head that sticks around for awhile. Glass covered with nice lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, sweet caramel malts, and alcohol. Taste is the same with a huge sticky, malty backbone and citrusy, medicinal backend.
3.1(12oz can) Pours a clear copper body with a medium white head. Aroma of grass, citrus, caramel, and bread. Flavor of grapefruit, pine, herbs, peach, and grass.
3.412 oz can pours a light copper color with a nice white head. Aromas of. pine citrus, and some floral. Medium bodies, very nice.
3.7on tap @ Sassy Bass / Gulf Shores AL --- Clear medium/dark amber color, off-white head cover, sheets of lace. Taste is crisp, carbonated caramel malt that sweeps through the swallow to a finish that begins with light citrus; then the citrus gradually becomes more hoppy as it floats through a balanced citrus and malt finish. Full-bodied, but light in the stomach. A solid highly recommended brew.
3.8Had 10oz at mellow mushroom. Not much of an aroma. Good taste . nice and bitter. Well rounded.
3.5From a 12 oz can shared at home. ours a clear copper with a thick off white head. Aroma of grass. Flavors of pine and citrus. BItter finish.
3.5Pours a clear light coppery color with foamy white head. Pine, citrus, floral notes, and some grass on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with citrus, light pine, and floral tones.
3.4Can. Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate balanced aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of medium duration. Good brew.
3.8Pours a slightly hazy, dark copper color with burnt orange edges and a two finger frothy white head that slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Good retention with large streaks of soapy lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy floral hop aroma with grass and resinous pine followed by subtle citrus and a sweet malt backbone. Hints of grapefruit, orange peel, biscuit, caramel and toffee provide sweetness that counters the dank, sticky hops. Nice balance in the nose but the malt character is a bit stronger than I prefer.
Full bodied with a blast of dank, sticky hops providing a decent amount of dry bitterness that lingers over the citrus fruit and sweet malt notes into a dry finish. Fresh juicy hops with earthy grass, bitter pine needle and resinous oils followed by a prominent grapefruit presence before the caramel malt sweetness comes on in the back end. A little bit of bread, biscuit and caramel rounding things out in the finish. Very faint boozy sweetness but the high ABV is well masked. There’s a bit more malt flavor than I prefer, but this is an extremely drinkable beer with good hop flavor.
3.112 oz can from shrubber85 through phaleslu. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, some oxidation, fruity, hops seem faded, very light bitterness, I wonder how different it is fresh, interesting can.
4.0Fat @ Flying Saucer, Nashville. Klar orange med ett smutsvitt skum. Dofter av malt, grapefrukt, apelsin och blomster. Detsamma återkommer i smaken tillsammans med kåda och citrus. Stor beska väl underbyggd av sötma. Oljig munkänsla. Riktigt bra IPA.
3.9Can. Orange gold with a large white head. Strong hop flavor of pine and citrus. Very good.
