Stronzo Swagger Juze

Stronzo Swagger Juze

Danish: Espresso Rye Stout.

3.6 Bottle. Pours pitch black, with a thick hazelnutty head. Nose is dry stable, roasted malts and some vanilla. Very full-bodied, thick beer! Quite herbal bitternes, dry wood, roasted malts, slight pumpernikkel and rye, with ending notes of dark, bitter chocolate!
3.5 Bottle. Pours pitch black with nut-brown dense one finger head. Aroma is toasty, malt, some peat but not very smoky? Dark chocolate and some burnt sugar. Taste is robust and hard roasted. Bitter dark malts, tastes of lot more than aroma. The body is quite smooth due the rye and does balance out the hard roast. Dark chocolate and dry cocoa powder. Some spicy liquorice too. Some herbal fainted hops in finish. A shame with the fainted aroma.
4.6 I’ve had rye IPAs before but never a rye stout (I think) and this works very well. The rye gives the malt a cherry/whiskey-aged sweetness that is perfect for an imperial stout. Aside from that there is chocolate and of course plenty of coffee. This is really very good.
3.8 Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks zvsn. Black with tan head. Cherry and a little vanilla aroma, rich, deep, a little woodsy and sweet undertones. No carbonation, full body, cherry heering finish.

3.8 Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks zvsn. Black with a brown head. Great big aroma with dark chocolate and coffee beans. Bittersweet flavor, roasty, with dark chocolate, coffee and a burnt bitter finish. Quite full-bodied and rounded. Really good.
4.3 (Stronzo Swagger Juze) Bottle 330 ml, from a trade with humlelala, thanks Kristopher! Served into a snifter, ABV 8% Pours a totally black beer, with two fingers of thick dark brown head, creamy, with very good retention, leaving heavy lacing on the glass. Great aroma, very fruity, espresso is following, the rye too, chocolate, very inviting. Taste begins with lots of coffee, the fruits are coming in straight afterwards, followed by chocolate again and vanilla, more fruity notes combining there and finishing with light roasted malts. Quite sweet and oh so good! Medium thick body with good carbonation, stick on the palate. It’s only my second Stronzo beer but this one too is really, really good. A pity we won’t see more from them.

4.0 Pours a viscous, black body with a unusually large head for the style. The head is creamy, medium brown, long-lived and laces the glass excellently. Strong, malty, very dark roasted and sweet aroma of dark caramel, chocolate and coffee with ash in the back. Strong flavour of dark roasted malt, dark caramel and coffee beans with a herbal, vegetal and green sting. Full body, oily and creamy texture, soft to moderate carbonation. A superb beer, but I prefer the coffee to be a little less vegetal. [33 cl bottle, enjoyed 3 years before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo]
