Struise / Bridge Road Imperialist

Struise / Bridge Road Imperialist

This Intergalactical Imperial lager was brewed by Ben (Bridge Road Brewers, 50 Ford Street, Beechworth VIC 3747, Australia) & Urbain @ Struise, as a superb collaborative effort between both breweries and Simply Hops (Hop Pocket Lane, Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, Kent, TN12 6DQ, UK). While Ben shared his Australian Lager brewing techniques, Simply Hops procured us with Fresh Galaxy hop flowers.
Only 4 ingredients were used, Vleteren water, German pilsner malt, Australian Galaxy Hops and Weihenstephan yeast. This lager not only bottom fermented, but also matured on its own bed of C02 for six months.

3.6 Appearance: clear ocre, slightly oily, decent white head. Aroma: tropical fruits, yeast, no disturbing alcohol. Taste tropical fruity hops, some grainy bitterness, lingering aftertaste, slightly oily MF. Good one, crisp, well balanced, very pleasant, decent richness, remotely reminiscent of a saison. On the downside aroma and taste are maybe a bit too faint but it's a nice beer anyway.
3.5 On Tap @ Struise Brouwers , Oostvleteren 09/09/17. Color dorado corona de espuma beige, aromas a cereal con notas a malta, sabor maloso cuerpo medio.
3.7 Caña 8cl en De Struisse Brouwers. Kasteelstraat 50, 8640 Oostvleteren. Bélgica. 09..09..2017. (r264). (.... Eastwood, Fombe y ángel77 sesión....). Color amarillento dorado velado con espuma blanca fina. Lager intensa con sabores dominantes maltosos y cereales con toques levaduras. Cuerpo ligero a medio intenso. 9 vol. Buena. Para repetir sin duda.
3.6 Tomada con Fombe y Angel77. Rubia alcoholica.
Textura oleosa. Huele floral, a grano, caramelo, especias.
3.6 Appearance: Hazy pale orange, quite a bit of fizzy off-white head. Aroma: Light fruits, light hops. Honey sweetness. Taste: Light bitterness, light sweetness. Honey? Some spices. Decent. Bought: 2Be (Bruges), 330 ml, €4.80 Info: 9/7-2017, BB: 21/6-2018
3.4 Flinke witte schuimkraag, mistig goudgeel. Honing, mout, alcohol, hop. Zoet, licht bitter. Volle body.
3.4 Hazy yellow of color with a white head. An aroma of sweets, hops and yeast. And aroma Spice, yeast and Honey.
3.3 Not bad even though it’s a little bit heavy and sweet for a Pilsner. Notwithstanding it’s a an "Imperial".
3.6 330ml bottle. Pours hazy dark orange gold with a small head. Aroma is malty mango and minerals. Taste has sticky hop oils to start and a stony, minerally finish.
3.2 Bottle 330ml from www.smakpiwa.pl.
1.8 Bottle shared @Pułapka, Gdańsk Honey and wet cardboard aroma. Clean pilsner-like character though the cardboard and honey makes it unpleasant.
3.5 Hard to rate. This beer is situation when Dubbel meets Czech pilsener. The brew is sweet with quite strong hoppy/bitter notes. Aroma is connection between organic-sugary-like sweetness with not really nice, dirty malty profile. In other words nose is somehow like straight, regular lager from supermarket. All in all not that bad, as other describe here - drinkable, very pilsener like with strong hoppy accents and potent sweetness.
2.4 Generalnie totalna porażka, słodka, ulepkowata, miodowa szmata. Trochę wstyd dla Strusi.
3.1 Bottle at Ratebeer Best. Pours a hazy yellow with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is strong grass, citrus, bready malt. Medium body, toasted malt, citrus, grass, boozy finish, good.
2.4 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Nah.
2.2 Bottled. 15cl sample. The aroma has grain, some peach/citrus, light toasted biscuit. Bit hazy, yellow coloured beer with a slight off-white head. The taste is light-moderate bitter, sweetish, quite grainy, seems a little oxidized. BBF june 2018. Almost unreadable vintage indication (as the rest of the text on the label) 2015. If I would have seen this in store I would probably not have bought this. I mean lager aged for about 1,5 year. Anyway, bbf date suggests rating is fine.
3.2 Pours a clear amber body with a thin head. Warm and full nose with malty tones. Taste is nice and well balanced with malty tones.
3.9 F: white, huge, collapsing. C: gold, hazy. A: malt, peach, grassy, light orange, flower, herbal. T: malt, orange peels, spicy, grassy, light white wine, flower, hint of coriander, medium full body, good carbonation, hint of alcohol warming, very good balanced and tasty, 0,33l bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout.
3.0 Aroma: herbal, some citrus, peach, some malty grain notes Taste: grain, alcohol, herbal, peach
3.7 Bottle. Honey-yellow color, a bit weak foam. Aroma: malt, wine, plum wine, sun-dried yellow plums and raisins, a little alcohol. Taste: malt, white port wine and plum wine, pear, good hop bitterness, warming. Good.
3.7 Bottle at home. Aroma is pale malt, sweetish fruits and hops, ripe citrus, touch of pine resin, soft yeasty and floral notes, mild stone fruits. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter. Body is medium with lively carbonation. Pleasantly surprised by this one, quite a tasty ’Imperial Lager’.
3.4 330ml bottle. Clear golden colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Minimally grainy and strawy, pale malty aroma, a touch of malt spiciness, minimally dusty, yeasty spicy as well as floral-fruity, hoppy overtones, slightly waxy hints of honey. Taste is bitter hoppy, minimally sweet fruity, hints of melon, pear, some honey; lively to fizzy (over-)carbonation.
3.5 Hazy gold with a good foam top. Peach and orange, hay, white sugar. Bit more citrus in the finish. Pleasant but not special
4.2 [backlog] 19-08-15 // small bottle at home. Bought in Belgium. Nice cloudy orange, solid white head. Hoppy nose. Really good pils. Nice herbal, flower hop aroma. Medium bitter finish.
3.4 From bottle at Camping Ratebeer ’15. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is a bit yeasty with some flowers, spices and sweetness. Taste is quite sweet with some spices, flowers and a medium bitter finish. Medium body and carbo.
3.4 Pours a thin white head with round hops aromas. Hazy and clear gold colored body. Rich and round in mouth. Warm alcohol and light malts.
3.0 bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Aroma of malt and fresh hay. Hazy light / medium amber, ivory head that sticks at 1", sheets of lace. Taste is bitter malt that is immediately forced through strong carbonation, becoming a little sweeter, only to give the sweet up to more bittering. Alcohol lingers noticeably in the background. Overall, I’m put off by a sense of a brick hitting the bottom of my stomach about halfway through the bottle. Not quite good enough for a repeat.
