330ml bottle delivered from Sophie's Beer Store and drunk at home. Very dark brown, opaque with a thin ring of beige head. Bourbon in a standout in the Aroma, but it doesn't overpower, with chocolate malt, coffee grounds, ash. Sweet, mellow taste with a lovely bourbon tang. An earthy bitterness in the finish, with more bourbon, molasses and a touch of Marmite. One of those rare barrel aged beers that's powerful but certainly not unsubtle.
I have had Black Albert previously so the bar is set high. Barrel aged Cuvee Delphine is highly anticipated. I'm informed by the label of a 2018 vintage, all right with that. I lift the cap on the 33 cl bottle and pour into my Straffe Hendrik glass, a mighty dark, glorious-brown body with a smattering of dark tan foam. There are scents and then there are scents. This one is quite fine, bakers chocolate, raisins and alcohol. But the drink is the payoff. Chocolate, dark fruit, bread, berries and a touch of bourbon. Not a big body to the taste as I expected but still good.
Vintage 2013. Embouteillée en 2017. Surprenante, malgré les années la carbonation était encore vive même si elle s'est estompée rapidement. On retrouve l'intensité de la Black Albert mais avec en prime un bel apport de la barrique de Bourbon. Elle m'a fait un effet moins sucré également.
Fles 33cl thuis. Vintage 2018. Laurier, roasted malts, stevige koffie, bitters, pruim, ergens een wijnzuurtje, zoeten, caramel, bourbontonen, hout, boozy, bittere chocolade, vanilletonen, hoptonen. (6-2-2021).
Black colored, moderate dark tan creamy head, good lasting and nice lacing. Aroma is of chocolate, strong roasted malt and burnt sugar, coffee, some oaky vanilla notes.
Taste follows the nose, plenty of chocolate, coffee and roasted notes, light caramel and toffee, medium+ sweet malt, some dark fruits, light+ oaky vanilla, moderate roasty bitterness, rather light alcohol with some warming sensation.
Full bodied, soft carbonation, creamy. Excellent
Aromat potężny, kakao, czekolada, czerwone owoce, wanilia, burbon, kojarzy się z takim oldschoolowym amerykańskim risem. Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzyste, piana szybko opada. W smaku pełne, półgęste, bardzo gładkie, półsłodkie, mega intensywne. Mleczna czekolada, kawa. Tu beczka mniej wyczuwalna. Na finiszu popiołowe, czerwone owoce, nieco ściągające. Goryczka średnia do wysokiej, palona, wysycenie niskie, alkohol lekko wyczuwalny, jak na 13% bardzo dobrze ukryty. Bardzo fajny klasyk, miła odmiana od dzisiejszych pastry.
Bottle 2013/ABV 11%. Black, large tan rocky head. Coffee, liquorice. Dense, somewhat oily. Both sweetness and bitterness developing gradually into a long finish.
Kolor czarny, bez prześwitów. Piana brązowa, momentalnie - już w trakcie nalewania, redukuje się, nie pozostawiając po sobie nawet małego bąbelka.
Aromat: słody palone, kawa, mocna i intensywna, drewno, Bourbon, później pojawia się ciemna czekolada, a z czasem wanilia. Na początku wanilia jest delikatnie, by z każdą minutą nabierać na intensywności.
W smaku pierwszy jest Bourbon, rozgrzewający alkohol, nastepnie nuty palone, kawowe, są ciemne i czerwone owoce, które wnoszą delikatną kwaśność. Goryczka na finiszu o charakterze mokrego drewna.
Alkohol delikatnie rozgrzewa. Wysycenie niskie do średniego. Ciało nie tak wysokie jak bym oczekiwał. Tekstura jest gładka, miękka. Posmak długi, jest Bourbon i owocowa kwaśność.

Smell-medium strong, malt, medicine, dark chocolate, roast.
Foam-roast, sweetness, herbal, malt, alcohol, caramel, cough medicine. Head is tiny, dark brown color.
Appearance- generic tin color bottle cap, simple label. Black color, no carbonation. I will give bonus for pure blackness.

Taste - herbal, weak bitter notes , medicine, alcohol, sweetness, chocolate, caramel. Very interesting brew, feels very medicinal.. like cough medicine, but I dont mind that.
Thanks to SimonTomlinson. Black appearance. Aroma is coffee and boozy. Flavour is coffee, boozy, malt, roasted and smooth.
Frothy tan head left a spotty cover on dark brown still body.
Christmas cake, malt, raisin & boozy aroma.
Medium bodied, over carbonated over the palate with a smoother clean back.
Heavy malts, full on boozy whisky, demerara grape & whisky tastes.
Bouteille Vintage de 2013. Une bière avec du caractère, un goût complexe qui tire vers les notes de café, chocolat, barrique, réglisse, raisin.... L'équilibre est parfait et la douceur laisse place à une certaine amertume qui reste longtemps en fin de bouche. Un coup de coeur, même si je lui préfère la black Albert et la pannepot.

Bottle at home, from my cellar where i have forgotten many beers the past years. Bottling date is 2014, Black beer, small head. Aroma is malt, light roast, vanilla, some bourbon, coffee, milk chocolate. Taste is the same, sweet, bit molasses, light bitter with a long chocolate bourbon aftertaste. nice.
Butelka 0,33 l, Vintage 2013, rozlew 21.03.2017 r. Piwo czarne, nieprzejrzyste. Piana jasnobrązowa, bardzo obfita, gęsta, szybko pękająca, z ładnym lacingiem. W aromacie nuty drewna, alkoholu, palone, popiołowe, kawy, gorzkiej czekolady, zielonego jabłka. W smaku półwytrawne, kawa, paloność, popiół, gorzka czekolada, drewno, alkohol, nadziewane praliny, nugat, proszek kakaowy, może lekkie przyprawy, anyżek. Finisz czekoladowy, kakaowy. Pełnia wysoka, wysycenie średnie, goryczka średnia do średnio wysokiej, czekoladowo-palona, alkohol agresywny, zwłaszcza w aromacie. W tej formie nie jest to wybitne, zasługujące na tak wysokie oceny piwo, choć nie jest tak schrzanione jak Black Albert, który piłem. Aldehyd nie jest tak mocny jak we wspomnianym piwie, ale trochę go czuć i przeszkadza, tak jak ciut za wysokie wysycenie. Beczki po burbonie też nie czuć, chyba, że samo drewno. Szkoda.
Not as messed up as regular Black Albert, that I drunk previously, but ratings of this beer are way too high. Very slight influence of barrel. Quite boozy and acetaldehyde is here too, but not as strong as in Black Albert. Another disappointment.
Bottled, 330ml from The Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Black with tan head. This is quite a thick pour, heavy, glutinous in a way. Coffee grounds, bitter chocolate and liquorice flavours. Hints of vanilla, hints of stoned wine like fruits. Big and boozy throughout, heavy on the palate. Phew.
Аромат не сильный, немного с винный ноткой, есть кофе и его зерна, также черный и горький шоколад, немного дерева. Цвет очень темный, как смола, пенка ультра тонкая, кофейная, тело очень маслянистое. Вкус аналогичен органолептики, очень маслянистен. Есть много кофе в начале, затем очень много горького темного шоколада, от которго есть сильнейшая кислинка при глотке. Послевкусие горькое, и при этом горечь продолжительная. Есть нотки чернослива, дерева и изюма. Но за дикой горечью, особо ничего не балансирует и не дополняет. Тип имперца который я не люблю, очень крепкий, горький и с удовольствием его трудно пить, неважно у камина или нет.

Musta lasissa jättäen beigen vaahdon. Tuoksu on vahvan tumman hedelmäinen, ruskean sokerinen ja suklainen. Mausta löytyy edelleen tummaa kuivattua hedelmää, sokeria, suklaakakkua ja kahvia. Lopuksi tuntuu alkoholin vahva voima. Suutuntuma on täyteläinen.
The aroma is complex: coffee, dried fruits, a little bit of sugar. Black, impervious with a little brown foam. Dried fruits, dark chocolate, slight alcoholiness in the aftertaste. The body is medium to dense, carbonation is medium.

Aroma: Moderate sweet, chocolate, roasted malt and coffee
Appearance: Pitch black with a small brown short-lasting head
Taste: Moderate sweet and mild bitter, roasted malt, light alcohol ending in a moderate bitter coffee taste
Mouthfeel: Oily mouthfeel with soft-no carbonation
Overall: Good beer for the price :)
Great aroma: coffee, malt and black chocolate. Taste : coffee again, malty bitterness/bitter chocolate, not to sweet as some of the stouts and some dark fruit in the background. Aftertaste: coffee with cane sugar/ soft malt, lasts long. Not to sweet as some of this stouts tend to be. Little to no foam. The whisky-caskets used make a nice difference with the Black Albert-beer used. It's still very much the , very good, original beer but u can taste the extra liquor-like touch, and notice it slightly in the aroma.

Wygląd: Na szyjce i pod kapslem brązowy osad (drożdże o ciemnej barwie od słodów palonych). Po przelaniu do szkła spory osad, barwa ciemno brunatna z początkowo wysoką, zbudowaną z różnych oczek beżowo - brązową pianą, która opada do małego pierścienia, a następnie całkowicie znika nie pozostawiając lacingu.
Aromat: Na pierwszym planie beczka po bourbonie, mokra dębina, bourbon, wanilia, marcepan, kokos wsparta średnimi nutami słodowymi czekolady deserowej, kakao, melasy, kawy mochy, kawy z mlekiem, biszkoptu, skórki chleba, tostów, ciastek. W tle akcent daktyli i wiśni. Całość uzupełnia średnio - niski szlachetny alkohol bourbonu/whisky.
Smak: Intensywniejszy, składowe podobne jak w aromacie, ale z większą palonością (gorzka czekolada, kawa) i całkiem sporym szlachetnym alkoholem. W ustach półsłodkie, półpełne z znacznie większym szlachetnym alkoholem bourbonu. Treściwość średnia, wysycenie średnie. Goryczka niska, alkoholowa z paloną nutą, krótka. Finisz półsłodki z półszlachetnym alkoholem (już nie nawiązującym w tak bezpośredni sposób do bourbonu) i nutami gorzkiej czekolady.
Ogólnie w aromacie dominuje beczka po bourbonie, reszta w tle. W smaku z kolei alkohol jest mocniejszy, wybijający się na tle składowych, choć pojawia się również więcej nut palonych. Na finiszu półszlachetny i już nie tak przyjemny alkohol.

Bottle, vintage 2013, courtesy of SinH4, thanks! Pours black. Aroma is caramel and vanilla, strong dark fruit, coffee and chocolate, cinnamon. Body is heavy and strong, good ash and tar, coffee and chocolate. A bit boozy, but not disturbing. Great!

Impressions of fondant pralines, melting fudge, marzipan, liqueur, vanilla custard, candied date, prune, moist black pepper, tobacco, sweetened espresso, bourbon. Taste has sweet date, plum & raisin, bit sticky, in a thick dark-chocolatey, dark fudge-like, almost treacle-like malt body surrounded by spicy notes (vague liquorice, allspice) and bitter espresso. Peppery hoppy finish, not too bitter and mainly sweet, touch of vanilla, more dark chocolate, slight roasted coffee, spicy tobacco and warming bourbon alcohol. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. As rich, flavourful, simply impressive as ever; so deserves a score increase. For me personally, it's interesting to see how the bourbon barrel does not cause the feared (heavy) acetaldehyde impression here.
Original rating: 10/06/2019. 8/4/9/5/18=4.4. Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker. Vintage 2013. Pours hazy black with a lasting, small, foamy, dark beige head. Complex aroma of bourbon, apple peel (vague acetaldehyde but clearly eroded over the years), vanilla, wood, prune, raisin, liqueur-filled chocolate, candied dates, sweet tobacco, faint coffee. Taste is medium malty sweet, very fruity, prune, raisin & dates on a subtle chocolatey & caramelly base, treacle- & dark honey-like accents, sourish brambleberry underneath, bitter notes of wood, toast, coffee, alcohol already warming up the mouth. Dryish, malty, slightly peppery hoppy finish, lingering dried dark fruits, vanilla, and a heating dash of bourbon-like alcohol but in a satisfactory way. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Definitely a world-class brew and perhaps an epitome of Belgian beer culture... But I still prefer the regular Black Albert.
