Struise Pannepøt - Old Monk's Ale - Pannepeut
Pannepøt (read Pannepeut) is a beer specially brewed and named as a wink to the Danish market presented at the Danish beer festival ’Københavnske Øldage 2006’ exclusively at Ølbutikkens stand.
It is produced to express the brewers gratitude to all the Danish beer amateurs that drink their products daily.
Pannepøt has later been available on draught and bottles at bars and shops in Belgium & Denmark. Since winter 2006, this beer’s popularity kept growing in Belgium at such a level that the production today equals Pannepot.

Vintage 2020. Pours blackish brown with tiny beige head. Very little carbonation. Sweet candied malt on the nose, with spices. On the palate, thesame with licorice, brown sugar, dark chocolate, a tiny bitter and sweet. Complex.

The beer is dark brown colored with a stable creamy foam. Carbonation is good.
The aroma is malts, caramel, dried fruits like prunes and raisins, candy sugar, light chocolate and spices.
The taste is full bodied and sweet malty with wheat, malts, caramel and dried fruits. It goes to light bitterness with yeast, spices and light chocolate.
The finish is light bitter, sweet caramelish and leaves some warming alcohol.
Couleur grenat au versage virant sur le brun dans le verre, grosses bulles.
Nez frais, malté, caramel, fruits confits (comme framboise, pourquoi pas), réglisse, fleurs.
Bouche un peu surette avec fruits confits, raisin, d'autres choses ... pas du tout agressif au palais.
Equilibre parfait entre le fruité, le sucré-candi, le confit.
Un modèle du genre; : douceur, équilibre, saveurs...encore une fois chez les Struise Brouwers !!!
Bottle. Opaque very dark brown with very little head. Nose is sweet, plums, prune, lots of candy sugar, ripe fruit. Taste is slightly muted compared to the amazing nose… plum, sugar, prune, bit dry
Bottle, 2020. Chestnut color, with no head. Aroma is earthy, chocolate, licorice, almost no acidity compared to the regular Pannepot. Taste is chocolate, coffee, licorice, roasted malts, alcohol is there but you don't really feel it while drinking it. Low carbonation.
Definitely not the same as Pannepot, but yet another great beer.
Nalewa się ciemno rubinowe, beżowa piana dosyć szybko znika.
W zapachu rodzynki, karmelki, przedojrzałe jabłko, dojrzały banan, brązowy cukier, ładnie pachnie.
Niskie nasycenie, dosyć mało ciała.
W smaku sporo brązowego cukru, goździki, dojrzały banan, trochę dojrzałego jabłka, dosyć lekko.
Finisz lekko goryczkowy, średnio przyjemny.
Pachnie bardzo ładnie, w smaku już gorzej ale i tak solidny quad, chociaż ciut za słodki.
Dark brown with a limited head. Aroma of dried dark fruit, some spice, alcohol. Taste is initially sweet, dried figs, prunes, some oaky vanilla notes. Low carbonation, a winner.

and boozy. Tastes of dark cherries, whole wheat bread, prunes, dates, Oak, bannana with a boozy sherry flavour. I think this is great but a little bit too boozy tasting for me!
33 cl bottle. Dark brown with a small brown, good lacing head. Sweet, yeasty, fruity aroma. Taste of dried fruit and oak, with tones of banana.

Flaska från hopt.se. Klar bärnstensfärgad med ett medelstort beige skum. Dofter av karamell, trä, plommon, fruktkaka. Smakinslag av karamell, fruktkaka, plommon, russin och trä. Oljig munkänsla, värmande alkohol.
Panda 🐼 at home thanks to Wingman. Aclear deep rich amber brown coloured pour with a fine beige head. Aroma is nice rich rum and raisin, fruit cake, raw oak, figgy, some light vinous notes. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, rich fruit cake, figgy pudding, musty wood, oak tannin, brown leaves. Palate is semi sweet, light tang, oak, mellow carbonation. Good.

The underlying beer i can tell is fantastic, but this bottle is oxidized to hell, great cold, can hardly be drunk warm. The taste is good, but the retronasal is god awful. I’ll rate in between. Only a year old and should last 5 years. Online saveurbier
Donker kastanjebruin bier, nauwelijks een schuimkraag. Kenmerkend Belgische quad: mout, karamel, kandijsuiker, alcohol. Iets of wat chemisch op de nasmaak, maar niet heel vervelend. Zoet, licht bitter. Fijne film, medium tot volle body. Gewoon lekker!
Brune reflet caramel, très légère mousse. Nez caramel, fruits noirs caramélisés, caramel cuit, alcool, malt doux, notes fruits rouges et macérés. Gout fruits murs caramélisés, alcool, fruits noirs, caramel cuit, bien intense, coprs onctueux superbe!
Versione di 012021, purtroppo sembra troppo giovane, non al livello delle sorelle. Una quad in stile ma gli manca qualcosa per spiccare.

T: full malty base, mellow fruity, bit toast, banana, pears, raisins, bit spicy, light oily mouthfeel, velvety warming alcohol, soft to medium carbonation, very good balanced, fully enjoyed.

Vintage 2020 it says also, I cannot wait on any aging. Quads are a favorite and De Struise hovers at the top. I have the 33 cl bottle open and pouring into the preferred and sizeable New Belgium snifter. Rich mahogany in color and the barest of a tan ring around the rim. A heavy and delightful nose, ripe dark fruit, malt, black cherries and biscuit. I pause for the drink and then go ahead. Ah yes. Dark cherries, grain, syrup, whole wheat bread, prunes and dates. A step away from the usual quadrupel. Similar but different, rather good.
Версия 2020 года. Аромат сдержанный и не резкий. Винные нотки сначала, прямо виноград, немного сливы и вообще сухофруктов на втором плане, немного специй, бочка есть и алкоголь. Цвет темный, но не черный, что удивительно вообще нету пены. Вкус тоже стабильный и ровный, но не хватает глубины. Снова сухофрукты, слива и виноград на первом плане. При глотке крепость ощущается, немного алкоголя, но прям очень водянисто. Уже больше бочки, дерево. Даже немного в ликер моментами уходит. В целом неплохо, но далеко не лучший квадрик что я пробовал.

De Labirratorium. Etiquetada como Pannepeut. En boca promete, con un perfil a frutas oscuras que apunta manera. No obstante, en boca la cosa decae mucho, siendo bastante plana, con las notas a frutas oscuras muy reducidas, notándose demasiado el alcohol y notándose bastante un punto metalico

Flaska från Etre, vintage 2020. Mörk kastanjebrun med beige krona. Katrinplommon, kandisocker och marsipan. I bakgrunden kakao och lite jordiga toner. Smakar ungt och kanske en gnutta spretigt, med en del hetta från alkoholen.
Bottle, 330 ml at Kulminator, Antwerp. 2013 Vintage. Dark brown with beige head. Caramel, dark malts, dark fruits, plums, sweetish, light tart note. Smooth texture, low carbonation. Just a bit thin finish. Medium bodied. Nice.
backlog, bottle, pours a muddy brown with a medium tan head. Notes are dark fruit, toffee, dates, pepper, sugar plum, and earth. Syrupy mouthfeel and a boozy warming finish. Enjoyable but I like La Trappe, Rochefort, and Westy better.

Many thanks for this bottle to tderoeck. Vintage 2010. Spora piana, ale opada szybko niczym lecace samoloty w filmie Top Gun. Barwa ciemno-brazowa, o zalegajacej mazi na dnie butelki. Aromat 10 letniego porto, rum produkowany w systemie solera, Smakowo bardzo bogato alkoholowe cieplo, rodzynki, daktyle, figi lukrecja orzechy wloskie i przede wszystkim pecan. Spora oleistosc i tlustosc sprawia ze piwo jest bardzo syte i ciezkie. Do degustacji salami i serow dobre polaczenie na sobotni wieczor
