4.3 Edizione Vintage 2014 Imbottigliata 9.11.16 Ordine Cantina della Birra fine '19
3.8 Tastes more like a barleywine to me. It’s a big boozy, mildly spiced beer. Well made sipper. Light body. Online etre bier
3.7 Bottle @ Friends/Dr Yeast. Appearance: pours muddy brown with low off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, bread, brown sugar, light spices, bourbon, dried fruit, alcohol, oak, light chocolate and grassy notes. palette: strong yeasty and malty aroma, light to medium carbonation, full body, notable sweetness, somewhat balanced by a medium bitterness, average to long duration and an oily texture. Overall: nice boozy bourbon Belgian
4.0 Reserva 2015. Cerveja marrom claro acobreado. Retrogosto sutil e doce
4.1 Clear deep tawny amber with a thin foamy ivory head. Rich plummy aroma with notes of honey and woody bourbon. Rich malty flavor that’s amber malty with honey and cabinet spice and bourbon and a lingering oak-y depth. Gently herbal and sharp but honey malty.
4.1 Vintage 2013.
3.9 Bottle from Beergium shared, 2016 vintage. Aroma of dark fruits, yeast, oak, tartness, malts, sugar, syrup. More tart in the taste, otherwise sweet. Slightly confused feeling overall, surprisingly tart with this combination, but quite nice tart Belgian ale.
4.3 I obtained this 2014 vintage, 33 cl bottle from belgiuminabox some months ago. The weather gets cool, I break out the dark beers. A Belgian strong dark ale, one of my favorite styles. And it has had the benefit of time in a bourbon barrel, only better I suspect. I pour into my Great Heights snifter and determine a cola brown body with a head of eggshell brown foam that slims down but does not go away. The smell is a good intro, I find caramel, fruit cake and chocolate perhaps. The taste now, ooh, that is good. Dates, raisins, candy, vanilla, grain and alcohol. There's some heat with this, just a touch. Really nice, I think De Struise does some great things.
3.9 Bottle shared with my dad, 2014 vintage. Pours a reddish brown with a nice fine head. Aroma is very Belgian, lots of caramel, brown sugar, figs, plums, licorice, yeast. Bourbon gives it an extra richness. Big body. Flavour is syrupy-sweet, with lots of caramel and brown sugar. Very sweet, even for a Belgian. A tad of bitterness, some fruity and berry-like notes (again figs and plums mostly). Some spices, wood and actually some hops! Bourbon is nice, not too intense. Really nice!
3.8 Copenhagen 26/9 2019. 33 cl bottle from Voldby Købmandsgaard (web-shop). 2013 edition. Cool Christmas Elf with Sun-glasses on the label. Pours murky amber with medium-sized off-white head. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. No Lacing. Aroma is potent, rich, very sweet, woody and boozy. Dark fermented fruit soaked in alcohol. Woody, sweet alcohol. Molasses and brown sugar. Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, smooth, soft texture. Flavor has a strong, heavy sweetness followed by light sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish and with a strong presence of alcohol. Lingering woody barrels. Quite Powerful and boozy Belgian.
Geiles Zeug!
3.7 2013 bottle. The aroma is malt, figs/dates, coriander. Pours a cloudy copper/brown with an off white head, mostly lasting, very good lacing. The taste is umami. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation average. Very Good, probably aged a little too long.

Alcoholwarmte. M: Volmondig met medium carbonatie.
4.0 Murky brown pour. Raisin and brown sugar on the nose. Taste is light boozy raisina dn brown sugar.
3.7 330ml bottle [2011 vintage]. Hazy, dark brown colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, fruity and malty aroma, notes of dried fruit, müsli, raisin, sultanine, Goji berry, some caramel, dried banana. Taste is sweet malty, fruity, notes of plum butter, dried fruit, caramel; cautious BA Support; creamy texture, smooth and soft palate.
3.4 0,33l bottle at home. Bottled 09/11/2016. brown hazy color, small yellowish head. smells marzipan, nutty, ripe fruits, raisins, some molasses, bit glueish. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, spices, peppery, citric, bit acidic, lightly lactic, some ripe fruits, marzipan. finishes dry and ligthly sour with notes of ripe fruits, marzipan and citrus. decent one, actually rather on the sour side, expected this to be more sweet, not bad but also not that great.
3.9 Nutty brown, transparent, no head. Aroma blows away. Quince / plum jam, intense. Taste is a bit lighter than it seems to be. Some burberry notes. More ripe fruit in the finish. Great.
4.1 Mahonkisen ruskea lasissa. Tuoksu on vahvan viskitynnyrimäinen, luumuinen ja hieman alkoholinen. Mukana myös rusinaa ja hiivaa. Makuelämys on vahva, johon tynnyröinti tuo oman selkeän mausteensa. Vahva lämmittäjä talvella.
4.1 Riserva 2014.
4.0 0.33 l bottle from 'Hopt', 2014 vintage, bottled in November 2016, cellared for almost a year. Clear, ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity, a little yeasty-spicy aroma of lots of bourbon, vanilla, raisins, prunes candied cherries and a touch of caramel. Fairly sweet, malty, gently fruity and a bit yeasty-spicy taste of massive bourbon, vanilla, raisins, prunes, some dark honey and a touch of caramel, followed by a long, moderately bitter, fairly warming, gently but pleasantly boozy finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Lovely sipper, quite heavy on the bourbon but the base beer can handle it.
