4.2Bottle. Dark amber and bit hazy, small white head. Aroma of toffee, rye bread, brown sugar, some banana. In taste medium sweet, lots of dried fruits, nice caramel finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation, warming finish and dar less seet that I expected. Complex and very drinkable.
3.2Bottle.Hazy brown colour with no head.Aroma of toffee caramel and malt, sweet with flavor of dried fruits and syrup good full body and toasted mild finish.
3.2Hazy amber beer with off white head. Massive complex aroma of bubblegum, flowers, honey, notes of sweet hard cheese and alcohol etc. The taste is very sweet. Less complex than the aroma. Full body. Good beer but the taste is too sweet I think. I like the aroma.
3.9On tap at CBC 2012. Pours brown with a tiny off-white head and hints of lacings. Aromas of dates with notes of toffee and hints of grains and pear. Medium bodied with a creamy palate. Soft carbonation. Bitter finish.
4.2from la Mise en Bière - cloudy brown beer with no foam; aroma of ripe fruits, molasses, toasted; full-bodied, thick and very sweet, light grainy, long finish of figs, molasses, raisins and ripe fruits again - huge!
4.0Had it many times and forgot to rate it. I guess pleasure first. From memory impressions it’s a very complex aroma of toffee, spice cake, candied and dried darker fruits. Oily, medium thick with delicate carbonation but big head. Quite sweet but not cloying. Also lots of complexity there since this isn’t one dimensional sweetness. Some sour and delicate bitter orange finish. Really good stuff.
4.0Aroma of sweet malt, caramel and fruits with hints of banana and citrus. Semi-clear brown appearance with a long lasting white head. Medium-high sweetness and light-medium bitterness - perfectly balanced. Average lively carbonation, full body, creamy texture. Great quadrupel!
Medium karbonering.
3.9Bottle from Belgian Beer Factory. 2013. Pours murky copper. Nose is loads of sweet caramel and toffee, raisin, fruitcake, dates. Taste is caramel and toffee, fruitcake, hops, syrupy, raisins, very sweet but tasty.
3.9330ml bottle I’ve had in the cupboard a couple of years. Big gusher! Pours a very hazy, murky brown with thin film of off white bubbles. Aroma is caramel, toffee, nuts, fruit cake and dark fruits - dates etc. Very smooth texture, alcohol is completely covered. Rather sweet but that isnt an issue for me. Dark fruits and Christmas pudding.
3.8Tasting at my place. Bottle shared by Maakun. We have a gusher! Amber with medium head. Cognac, apfelkorn, barleywine/glue-ish and the sweetness of banana sugar candy. Very sweet with big alcoholic finish. Backlog from 2015/01/09.
4.1Brown colour, white head.
Malty sweetness, spices friits and nuts.
Warm alcohol notes.
4.0Bottle. Color hazy dark orange with small white head. Aroma yeast, spicy, fruits, caramel. Taste sweet, spicy, fruits, caramel, alcohol, herbal.
3.8Bottle, 12.0%. Mild bready aroma, hint of peppery alcohol. Hazy dark amber colour. Small stable tan head. The flavour starts off very sweet, even sugary. Has a little spicy malt notes and some alcohol. It has the same good breadiness as Westvleteren 12. A great beer but it is very sweet and, I must say, too sweet for me.
4.5Bottle. Pours hazy copper brown with airy but stable beige head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel, fruit and yeast, with subtle, hoppy touches. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, with notes of fruit, touches of raisins and yeast and hints of hops. Lingering, sweetish aftertaste with nutty notes. Warming alcohol presence. The closest to Westvleteren XII I have tasted, just sweeter. Yummy. Oh, how I wish I was in the beautiful nowhere of rural Flanders again...
4.115/07/2015 @home, 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck.
Copper colour with small head. Sweet, ripe fruits, caramel, dry, alcohol.
3.8Bottle from Kris Wines. Hazy copper, offwhite head. Sweet raisins and nutty aromas. On the sweet side, but with lots of fruity complexity. Nice.
4.0330ml bottle, pours red, small off white head. Aroma is golden apple tang, cherries, carrot cake, toffee, blackcurrant, medium malty, light hop bitterness, almond and nutty notes, resiny. Body is medium full, texture is oily and syrupy, sweet with little hop bitterness. The flavours carry this. Drinks very smoothly, alcohol is blended very well. A complex and tasty brew.
3.7Grandma fruit jam and sweet golden raisins. Too sweet, but could be more complex and with no "extra"
3.4(750ml bottle) Pours a clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma of dark fruit, strong alcohol, and minerals/earth. Flavor of yeast, fruity, earthiness, candi sugar, almonds, and caramel with a dry finish.
3.8Bottle (from beergium.com). Pours brown with beige head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is sweet, malt, dark fruits, apples and some alcohol. Flavor is sweet, malt, dark fruits, alcohol, raisins. Overall: very nice.
3.6330ml bottle @martjoobolut’s, thanks (2013 vintage). Hazy chestnut color. Small size, yellowish tan head, stays. White candy caramel, sweet, medicinal, anise in aroma. Metallic, wild strawberries, sweetish, caramel in taste. Sweet and fruity in aftertaste. Yeasty too (got first pour). Slightly boozy, but nice. Me like!
3.6Hazy dark brown, small to medium off-white head. Nose very boozy, apples, raisins, toasty notes. Flavor is apricots and caramel, some raisins and toasty caramel notes. Finish is lots of caramel and warm. Pretty nice
5.0This quadrupel has a moderate foam, which is rare for beer which is 12% alc. It smells very much of dried fruits, such as prunes, raisin and figs. The flavor is an elegant and very delicious composition of apricot, peach, raisin and prunes. Many times tastes quadrupels of dried fruits, but this XXXX tastes of fresh fruit, as aforementioned apricots and prunes. Hop bitterness is obviously reduced to the minimum, just like the type to be, but some spices, fresh herbs and a little taste of yeast together form the bitterness in this gem of a quadrupel. The alcohol gives a little tingling sensation in the mouth and it contributes to an abrupt awakening of all taste buds so all impressions allows full enjoyment. Definitely one quadrupel is top notch. It requires long-term enjoyment and great attention.
4.1Rating #1089, flaske fra Voldby Købmandsgård. Brungul, grumset, flot skum. Ren nektar. Tyk, blød og cremet . En rigtig vellykket quadrupel!

APPEARANCE: clear dark blond beer, unstable white head.
NOSE: caramel, fruity, alcohol.
TASTE: caramel, fruity, alcohol, dry, bit too much. Weird quadrupel :p
