3.2 Sample at RateBeer Best. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is tart, red wine, vinous, malt, vinegar. Taste follows nose with oak and lots of alcohol.
3.0 @RBB dark red. Vinegar and plum and cherry nose and flavor. a little too sour/long in the barrel for me.
2.6 Botte sample at RB Best. 2012 vintage. Pours clear deep reddish brown, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is berries, acetone, lemons, more finger nail polish, some date. Flavor is medium sweet, medium tart, fairly funky and woody, loads of acetone and vinegar. Medium body. Huh. This was NOT the beer of the festival.
4.1 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Oj, znakomity Flanders. Mega aromat i smak beczki.
5.0 Bottle - 2009 - what a fantastic sour ale - abundant sour dark fruits perfectly balanced with sweet malt - Christmas cake flavours too - bloody lovely.
3.9 Bottle in café rose red in Brugge. Pours brown red with a beige head. Balsamic vinegar on the nose stewed fruit in alcohol on the nose. Taste is tart and vinegary sour. A good Fleming beer.
4.0 Bue en bouteille de 33cl. 2011. Couleur noir, épaisse, faible carbonation. Nez café puissant, alcool. Palais explosif, épais, gourmand, gras, liquoreux, corpulent. Arômes complexes, équilibre quasi parfait.
3.7 Pour from a bottle at the Shelton Brothers Festival. 2011 vintage. Pours a cloudy cola color with an off-white head. It has some tart and sour dark fruits like black cherries and plums, with soy, chocolate, earth, oak, and red grapes. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a tangy, sweet, tart mouthfeel. Showing its age, but not bad at all.
4.1 330 ml bottle. Pours a reddish brown with light head Aromas of wood, dark berries, wine vinegar and light sugar. Flavors of vinous wood, sharp dark berries, plum skins, and balsamic vinegar. Super sipper.
3.8 Bottle, 330 ml, shared with JFK10000. Pours dark brown with beige head. Malty, dried fruit, wood, caramel, acidic, vinous to vinegarish. Medium bodied. Not that easy to drink. Interesting.
3.7 Sort skum brun rødvin chokolade sur brændt korn tømmer. Bitter lidt sur lidt sød lidt Oile flad @home

3.8 2011 reserva in 2016. APPEARANCE- brown in color. No head remaining 5 yrs later. NOSE- very sweet, slightly fruity and a bit of alcohol. FLAVOR- slightly sour, not overbearing. Sweet, fruity finish.
3.8 Reserva 2011... Heavy aroma of aged balsamic and red wine; deep brown color, thin tan crown; slightly sour and acidic, aged balsamic throughout, fruity (cherry like), hint of soy sauce, dry finish; medium body, well carbonated, refreshing; intensely flavorful and complex, very enjoyable.
3.7 2011 bottle. Pours dark ruby brown with a small brown lacing. Aroma is strong, acidic rotten fruits, dark sour plummy fruits. It’s definitely sour and acetic but a backbone of dark malty fruits. My first sip shocks me with sourness because I haven’t had an acetic sour beer in a while. But once my taste buds get used to it I’m ok. Flavor is again rotting fruit with some black syrup sweetness, dark tart cherry juice. It’s definitely an amped up Belgian Oud bruin but maybe too amped up. I’m giving it a better score bc I haven’t had this type of sour in a while. But I could see myself going as low as 3.4 if I was in a different mood.
3.3 2011 bottle thanks to Eugene. Dark pour, short-lived head. Aroma: chocolate, balsamic, hint of acetone. Sweet with sharp balsamic tartness at the end. Slick texture, full body, soft carb.
3.9 Bottle. Bottled 09.2014. Black body with tan head. Aroma is wood fruits mostly plums vinegar also hints of malts. Taste is malty vinegar, wood dried fruits and malts. Aftertaste is nice sour.
3.5 Ainakin 2011 versio näyttää olevan 8% vahvuudeltaan, ei 7. Tummanruskea olut vaahtoaa kohtalaisesti, mutta vaahto katoaa pian kokonaan. Tuoksu nahkaisen tamminen, happaman kirsikkainen, hieman suklaata ja vaniljaa. Aika pitkälle kokonaisilme on kuitenkin varsin viinimäinen. Maultaan olut on pääasiassa happaman kirsikkainen. Keskitäyteläinen suutuntuma. Tynnyrikypsytys on eduksi. En tiedä, ehkä aavistuksen menee överiksi kirsikkaisuudessaan omaan makuuni.
4.0 33cl bottle. Deep dark black colour with a thin and small tan head. Sour, vinegar, oak, malts and berries in the aroma. Average to low carbonation and medium body. Taste is medium sweet and medium sour with earthy and woody notes. Very complex. Overall, a very good beer.
4.0 2011 vintage. Deep dark brown with small ruby highlights and small tan head. Lots of balsamic and apple cider vinegar in the aroma, which also follow through to dominate the taste as well, with some chocolate, vinous notes and a little cola. Very nice balance between tart sourness and smooth sweetness. Light bodied, acidic and refreshing. Fantastic oud bruin.
3.9 330ml bottle served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark amber to brow color forming a small thin and solid beige head with medium to low retention that leaves some thin spotty lacings in the glass. Sour and fruity nose. Strong notes of apple vinegar, oak and caramel malts. Metallic hints. Grassy hops. Taste follows the nose: Fruity and acid. Strong notes of apple vinegar, candi Sugar. Grassy hops, medium hops bitterness. Medium body. Low carbonation. Molasses sensation. Sour vinegar in the aftertaste. Less aggressive than the standard version. Great drinkability. Excellent Flanders Ale. Expected De Struise quality.
4.0 light red wine aroma, brown, off white aroma, light sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, light body, oily feel, sour harmonich red wine finish, mums.
3.8 Ruby-brown coloured and almost clear. Has an off-white head. Heavy acidic aroma, berries, grapes. Wine. Sugars. Nice.
4.0 2011 bottle from the Struise shop in Brugge. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of slightly sour red berry. Ned + body. Flavor is malt, tart red berry with something musty woody earthy. Dry and tart finish. Red berry all the way.
4.1 2011 bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head and a sour brown aroma. There is a rich Flemish sour flavor with a tart woody finish. Nicely aged.
3.7 Complex fruity and chocolate aroma. Medium thick and delicately carbonated. Silky mouth feel. Well rounded and complex taste. Medium sweet with good sourness but balanced enough not to dominate. Still can even be called refreshing.
3.3 Drank with Bram while watching House of Cards 14-4-2016. Very complex beer. Every sip is a discovery. Sour is still not my thing. But this one was quite good. Hints of cinnamon, sometimes bitter, very rich.. only sometimes a bit unpleasant as well.
