Pale Ale

Oregon is our West Coast Pale Ale, brewed with lashings of US Cascade hops. This zingy pale ale has grapefruit, sherbet, spicy floral & citrus notes, all set against a surprisingly robust malt body to bring mouthfeel & sweetness to balance this very moreish hop forward American Pale Ale.

2.9 Sample from 33 cl. bottle. BBE 31-10-2014. Amber, golden colour with a thin, bubbly white head. Fruity aroma with caramel malts and herbal notes. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and fruity-bitter with dusty hops. This bottle was unfortunately too old.
2.9 10-JAN-2015, bottle @Papsø tasting @Amager Bryghus. Hazy golden with low off-white head. Aroma is hops but tired ones. Animal Cage-like... Far of grape fruit and pine. Taste the same. Medium body and carbonation.
3.1 Bottle at Papsøs tasting at Amager Bryghus. Hazy amber colored with a small white head. Fruity aroma of hops and pine needles with notes of grass and tea. Fruity flavor of hops, grass and tea. Hoppy finish.
2.6 Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy golden with a white head. Sweet bubblegum aroma. Medium body, sweet fruitiness and a rather low bitterness. Old hops or old beer. 100115
3.4 Flaska delad med @thaalcoholic. Dimmig bärnstensfärgad vätska med stort vitt skum. Doftar citrus och lite kemiskt. Citrusig smak med lite bitter beska.
3.8 330mL bottle poured into a tulip. Beautiful effervescent copper colour with a large white head that leaves some nice lacing. Grapefruit and tropical fruit aroma and flavour. The mouthfeel is a little too astringent like a glass of berocca, but still very enjoyable.
3.8 Alluring "West Coast" aroma and full bodied nicely balanced flavour with an enticing "watermelon" (to my taste) twist.
3.9 bottle from ales by mail a nice beer amber in colour with a off white head pine in the aroma with a soft fruit taste running through it a tiny bitter finish a nice beer that i would have again
3.1 Nice nose and appealing in the glass, but the hinted hops on the nose are muted. Soft and silky on the palate, but nothing that grabs your attention and dissipates quickly.
4.0 Bottle. Hazy caramel color, small White head. Nice hoppy Nose, hoppy floral taste with a fruity slightly bitter finish. Medium body, average carbonation. Earlier Rating: 10/28/2014 Total Score: 4 Bottle. Clear pour, very bright amber color. Small white head. Fruity nose. Taste is very hoppy, with a nice touch of citrus in the pretty bitter long finish. Medium body, average carbonation. Good beer!
3.3 Gulbrun noe tåkete med høyt fluffy hvitt skum. Sitrus, fersken, ananas og noe fudgeaktig lukt. Bitter og søt smak. Humle, grape og noe sitrus. Mest bitter. Mye kullsyre.
3.3 Tap @ Olutravintola Konttori. Pours clear golden color with a large white head. Hoppy, piney aroma, faint malts with some orange and mango. Fruity flavor with mild resin and hay notes, feels a bit watery, makes it quite sessionable. Good. 3414
3.2 Tap @ Konttori. Pours hazy orange, white head. Pine hops, caramel in the aroma. Caramel, pine hops in the flavor.
3.5 [5953-20131019] Cask. Mild egg and grains aroma. Slightly hazy, orange body with a quick foamy white head. Bitter orange hints and grainy malt in the flavour. Medium body. Good, simple. (6/3/7+/4/15) 3.5 (Cask Days 2013 @ Brickworks, Toronto, ON)
2.9 Poured from bottle, hazy amber with huge white head that settles quickly. Aroma subtly flowery with notes of citrus, banana and hay. Taste is bitter but well balanced. Notes of banana , citrus and bread with a sweet aftertaste. Starts off like a pale ale but finishes like a hefe weisse. Peculiar...
2.7 Draught at The Euston Tap, London on 4 Aug 2012. Poured a very hazy golden colour, with a halo of white head. Aroma of wet grass, floral hop and satsumas. Citrus hop flavour, with some herbal and mineral notes. Finish was bitter resin, pine and straw.
1.8 Jeśli spotkałbym autorów tego piwa, to za użycie sformułowania "West Coast" w nazwie, wyśmiałbym ich w twarz. Barwa złocista, piana średnio pęcherzykowa, niska. Aromat typowego lagera. W smaku oprócz dużego nagazowania, nieprzyjemna goryczka. To piwo nigdy nawet nie stało obok IPA!
2.6 Draught. Murky orange pour, minimal white head. Faint grapefruit aroma, more like acidic berries, slight peaches and floral notes, harsh resins. Hints of raisins. Grainy maltiness, resinous and somewhat harsh bitterness. Some fermentation notes, like perry. Light to medium body, slightly soda-like texture. This was the first pour from the tank and I still wonder if or was OK.
3.4 Bottle att home. Pours orange with a huge white head. Aroma is piney and citrusy and a bit spicy with backing biscuits, toast and some caramel. Similar taste with balanced and lasting bitterness.
3.5 Bottle from BarleyWine, CPH - amber pour with white head. Citrus fruity and light malty aroma and taste, some mandarin, lemon, floral and light grassy, easy drinking, decent overall. (Note to Admin: Think this may still be same brew as http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/summer-wine-oregon-pale-ale/173120/)
3.3 330 mml bottle tasted on the 19/11/2014. Hazy golden colour with a medium off-white head. Aroma of malts, grain and some lemon. Taste is citrus, fresh and clean but unidimensional, not complex. Medium carbonation and body. Aftertaste is not intense. Next one please!
2.6 Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Not much of a aroma and a rather damp feeling about it. Pours dark orange with a small white head. Taste is sweet and a bit fresh with some hops, though not overwhelming. Palate is actually pretty nice and it passes through the mouth smoothly. Overall not a very exciting beer and not very tasteful.
3.5 Bottled, 330ml from Utobeer, Borough Market, London. Hazy orange amber with white head. There is an initial fruity sweetness, slight bon-bon hints followed by a herby hoppy note. Allied to this is a citrus, orange hint. Perhaps a little mixed up but pretty reasonable too. Earlier Rating: 2/27/2013 Total Score: 4 Cask conditioned at The Euston Tap, Euston, London. Hazy gold with white head. Big hop flavours going on with this, grapefruit bitterness with lemon pith and sharp gooseberry, full on the palate and very tasty. Lots of carry through, drying. Very good.
3.8 33cl bottle. intense orange colour, slightly hazy. whitehead quite rich but short-lasting, some lacing. aroma of fresh citrus and pine, some sweet tropical fruit notes too. sour and grapefruit in taste, balanced bitterness. high carbonation. refreshing and tasty
3.6 Bottle from Coolers off licence. Appearance: Cloudy vibrant orange, thick bubbly white head. Aroma: soapy hops, coriander, lemon, slightly sweet, pine in there too. Flavour: Bitter hops, coriander, sweet, a little malt, candy sugar, sticky sweet finish.
3.4 Semiclear orange with a bone white head. Nose has bread and red fruit, very wine-like. Sour and earthy with some grapefruit. Surprisingly sour for a pale ale.
3.3 330ml bottle from Summer Wine online. Clear amber colour, white foam head and aroma of malt plus citrus hops. Biscuity malt & grain flavour with citrus hop notes and earthy spicey bitterness. Light bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable.
3.1 Draught @ John Bull Pub, Aalborg Pours hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt and a faint hint of citrus and grape finish. Body is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a fruity, orange and citrus finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
3.5 Aroma of pineapples, oranges and sweet caramels. The taste is really fruity and I catch a lot of pineapple/mango, but it is a little thin in the aftertaste.
3.1 Bottle, at John Bull, Aalborg. It’s an unclear one, orange in color and with a white head. The aroma is citrusy and piney, rather gentle, with some malts in the back. Nice bitterness in the flavor, it’s citrusy and lightly piney, some malts in the back. It’s soft on the palate, with a soft carbonation. Lasting dry and bitter finish with citrus zest. A decent one, but far from the typical US west coast pale ale. 141026
