Summer Wine Teleporter

Cask; Regular.
A Rich Dark Porter brewed with 10 different malts giving a sweet roast richness that is balanced with just enough hop character. This ale has a surprising drinkability for it’s colour and abv. Don’t let the sumptuous roast malt fool you, this porter is seriously potent & has the potential to take you to another place...

3.4 Bottle, 5%. very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, caramel and hop. Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, liquorice, hop, medium sweet, little bread and a little bitter.
3.3 Haplf on cask at Craft Beer Co. Brixton. Opaque very dark brown to black beer with an off white head. Nose is strewed plums, ruby fruit, dryish, chocolate. Taste is little watery, stewed fruit plum, ruby fruit, chocolate, slight roasted malt, slight dry hop.
3.7 33cl bottle. Pours very dark brown colour with a huge most good lasting tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and coffee. Taste of dark roasted malt, chocolate and coffee, mild hops, good!
3.0 Drunk from 33cl bottle bought from Bierhuis in Ossett. Enjoyable porter style beer.
3.7 Backlog rating. 33cl bottle from Utobeer, London. It pours a dark brown color with medium beige head. Aroma is rich roasted malts, coffee, toffee and dark fruits. Taste has more espresso, milk chocolate, dark fruits and vanilla. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, nice one
3.7 Tried at the Nottingham beer festival 2015. Ruby black colour with an off white head. Roasted malt and fruity aroma and taste. Smooth and creamy.
4.1 Cask at Hopinn, Newcastle under Lyme. Pours black brown with a tan head. Roast, creamy finish, some choc. All round cracking full bodied porter.
2.8 Obviously lots of malt on the aroma, but this has a slightly thin mouthfeel, and lacks a real porter finish
3.5 Sneeky half at the Stockbridge Tap, on Cask, on the way from work. Pours a deep ruby almost black. Creamy nearly chocolate head. Dark malts aroma. Lovely balanced malty flavours and hops with hints of Dark fruits, chocolate and coffee...very slight. An enjoyable sip though not really how I like my porters to be.
3.4 330 ml bottle. BB 32/08/15. At the Pannuhuone, Kuopio, Finland. Reddish black color with a mid-size foamy off-white head. Berry hops, malts and some roasty notes in the aroma. The flavor is some rye, malt, mild berries, mild hops and some porridge. Why not...
2.9 Tap from the Bow Bar. Kind of flat, both in liveliness and character. It has an apple-y Englishness to it as well which is strange in a porter.
3.5 Bottle at home. Good mouth feel and lots of malty goodness. Near medium body. Lovely stuff.
3.4 A colablack, a head is very big and beige. Aroma has roastiness and black coffeem some liquirice and sourness. Taste has coffee, strong roastiness, some liquirice. Medium bodied, not so much of carbonation that could be expected from the big head. Good but quite simple.
3.9 (bottle) Initially I thought it was slightly sour, but given a few minutes warming it develps some nice chocolate notes and flavours. Looks fantastic in the glass, deep black and with a lovely persistent head. Not as full bodied as you might be led to believe, but lovely nonetheless.
3.1 Tap and it took the barmaid 3 attempts to pull a half. I note that it got rave reviews in 2010 and north of here. Time and distance has diminished its appeal so it doesn’t teleport well. Some of the 10 malts are roasted judging by the scent. Taste has coffee. Dark chocolate and maybe some plum. A beer of this type should have more staying power on the palate. Indeed, more heft overall. Not the best £3.20 investment of the week!
3.2 Keg - dark black with a thin light brown head. Aroma of coffee and cocoa. Taste of coffee, roast malts and hints of smoke. Medium body, low carbonation. Remarkably boring for something advertised as a ’ten malt porter’.
3.0 Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Dark brown with a creamy off-white head. Has some extremely light and milky roasted malts throughout its character. Feels a touch thin in the palate.
2.7 Bottle. 5.0%. Best before 31.05.15. 10 cl. sample. Pours a dark brown, with a small, disappearing off-white head. Roasted aroma with a coffee note and a hint of chocolate. Roasted, sweet liquorice flavour. Somewhat watery, and with a weird note which tastes like polymer clay smells. Same finish, dry, with a lingering cigarette smoke note. Meh. 01.05.15.
3.2 Bottle from Heaton Hops. Pours almost black with a cream head. Nice cocoa aroma. The taste is slightly metallic with light spice and burnt toast, plus a little chocolate. Pleasant and drinkable, but not a great porter.
2.1 VBC 2015 Dark ruby, almost black, of color with a small beige head. An aroma of sweets, chocolate, prunes and weak roasted. A flavor of roasted malt, cold thin coffee and plastic.
2.3 Bottle share at VBC. Very dark brown with a very small head. Slightly roasted aroma, a little sweetness. Medium body, quite watery. Low bitterness and roastiness. Quite boring beer.
3.0 Bottle. Very dark brown with an off white foam. Aromas are earthy coffee and blackberries with hedgerow. Dark chocolate with vegetable fat cola and coal. Flavours are dark berries with light roasted malts. Chocolate with oily notes and hints of cola. OK.
3.4 Tap @EustonTap. Black with creamy offwhite head. Light, roasted aroma. Flavour is roasted with light fruitiness and coffee. Bitter and dry finish. Decent.
3.7 Cask at the Euston tap.always good for a tick. Clear dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a creamy lasting light tan head. Attractive beer. Aroma milky coconut, toast, praline and cream. Flavour is composed of sweet coconut cream, toast, tangy dried fruits and a little woody note. Palate is full and milky, low carbonation. Smooth on the tongue. Lingering woodland berry and smooth dark roast. Good stuff.
3.7 330ml bottle. Dark brown, quite transparent pour with a few brown bubbles. aroma is bitter malts and coffee. Dry malty taste. Ash, charcoal and burnt toast. Long bitter finish.
3.3 On tap. Pours black with a nice head. Aroma and taste typical for porters, nothing special, although I drank it with a pleasure.
3.9 Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is roasted chocolate, light coffee, taste is bitter, roasted, sweet chocolate.
4.0 Pours a rich black with a healthy tan head. Lots of chocolate, caramel, biscuit, and general malt in the aroma. Flavor is a little like melted chocolate ice cream or chocolate mousse. Very creamy and chocolaty with vanilla and a touch of caramel. Full body and a nicely smooth finish.
3.4 Bad luck that I had it side by side with the gorgeous Mokko, by the same brewery. Ruby black, with hardly any aroma, but a sour whiff of yogurt. Flavours are multi-layered, with chocolates, malts, coffee, liquorice, and the body is jsut on the thinner side. Still a lovely porter, only dwarfed by its sweet stout sister.
3.6 Very dark with little head, drinks very well with hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Very pleasant
