Summit Pilsener

Summit Pilsener

Authentic Saaz hops from the Czech Republic give our Pilsener just the right amount of spicy floral aroma. With a crisp, refreshing malt backbone and lightly spiced hops, it’s a taste of the Bohemian life.

3.5 I had this on tap at Old Chicago in Olathe, KS and found it to be a pretty good beer.
2.9 12 oz bottle from Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits - Muscatine. Enjoy by 3/20/15, over 2 months ago. Orange and pretty clear appearance with light sediment and a white head. Kind of a bland aroma of floral notes, light spicy hops and toasty grains. Similar flavor, a bit of spicy hop bitterness and bread-like malts. Light body with a crisp feel and a light dry finish. A little past its prime, but not too bad overall.
4.2 Nice clean summer beer with a nice malt base also. I wouldn’t get a 12 pack but these are welcomed in the summer sampler. If you like pilsners it’s certainly worth a try. If you like Summit beer in general it’s worth a try. Edit: brought a 6 pack of cans of these up North to Leech Lake, great summer session beer, boat beer, patio beer.
3.3 12 oz bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma of malts, grass and some pine. Taste is malts and grass.
3.3 12 oz bottle at my parents house. The pour is a clear darker golden with a fizzy where head. Some floaties are visible. The aroma is clean pilsner malt and soft earth hops. The taste follows the nose, gentle blend between cracker malt and earth hops. The palate is light to medium bodied, nice clean carbonation and a softly malt sweet finish. Nice enough.
3.2 On tap. Clear golden color with little white head. Grassy aroma. Taste is grassy, slight pepper. Clean and easy to drink.
3.5 Good job Summit! This pils pours a bit darker than the others. Has a great richness to it’s flavor. Still smooth, easy going.
3.2 Courtesy of Doran. Poured from the 12 oz bottle a gold color with a white head. Light lacing. Nose of grassy hops with a hint of citrus as well. Light in body. Flavor is light malts and a smooth lager mouth feel. Light bitter finish. Nice.
2.5 Really disappointed after I bought a case. Almost tasted skunky with a lot more hop flavor. Was looking for a smooth drinking light beer, but got something much different.
2.9 Light easy drinking beer...you could pound a six pack and be just fine.....great lunch and sandwich beer.
3.8 When I think of pilsner beers I pretty much thing of the lightest and tasteless beer possible. It’s not an adventures beer by any means, but that does not make it bad. Good color and great for a time when you don’t want something heavy. I have it a lot with meals.
3.5 12 oz bottle from the Cash Wise in Williston. Appearance: finger of white head, golden color, clear, light lacing. Aroma: biscuity malt, light floral, grass clippings, very faint fruit. Palate: light-but-not-so-light body, average carbonation, very subtle bitter at the end, thin texture. Taste: light watery fruit sweetness and malty sweetness, then the malty sweet takes over, but has subtle flourishes of bitter grassy hops towards the end. Overall, very well balanced and "full" feeling for the style, very refreshing, quite good!
3.6 Pale golden color. White head. Very nice aroma. Better than some pale ales. Not much hops, as expected. Easy drinking taste. Malts, with light hops present. This is a pleasant, well done pilsener, and is faithful to the style, but, personally, I prefer a stronger taste (which is why I don’t often buy pils). Refreshing to drink. Matches up well against the classic European pilseners. I recommend it to those who are looking for an American pilsener.
2.8 Sweet bready aroma with some notes of spicy hops. Deep yellow color with a white head...fades quickly. Rich sweet malt up front. Off bitter, peppery hops fade in...mild,,,,but sweetness wins out. Finish has an off bitterness that does not mend well with sweetness. Medium mouth feel with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Average for the style....very drinkable.
3.5 Bottle. Clear golden yellow color, medium white head. Aroma of grainy citrus. taste is raw white bread, light pepper. Clean finish. OK.
3.1 12 ounce bottle. Pours honey gold with a small creamy white head. Light grainy malt nose. Crisp light grain malt flavor. Notes of lemon and hay. Dry mid taste and finish. Nice hop balance at the conclusion.
3.4 Transfer from BA review on 8-24-12 - Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Poured a nice light golden color. The beer had a large thick white head with great retention but eventually fades to give a great level of lacing. Smell – The aroma is biggest of a bready malt with notes of yeast, pepper and some lightly sweetened lemon citrus. Taste – The taste begins mostly of a bready taste with some light lemon hop flavors. As the taste moves on the hop gets slightly stronger and the bready flavor becomes more “buttery” and takes on a more biscuit nature. In the end a light grassy flavor come to the tongue blending with the lemon to leave a lingering aftertaste.. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was of average thickness with a carbonation level that was also very average as well. Overall – It’s a pretty good Pilsener with a decent flavor, feel and look. Worth a try, but nothing to go out of your way for.
2.5 Pours slightly hazy straw color with white head. Not much flavor and somewhat tart.
3.7 12oz bottle. Pours clear goldenrod, crisp white head. Taste is clear pilsener, bit strong on the hop bite at the back. All round nice pilsener.
3.7 Typical pilsner, medium yellow body, medium white head. Aroma is corn, hay and malt. Taste is a subtle sweetness with a dry finish.
3.4 12oz bottle, clean crisp flavor of a pilsner. Pale Yellow pour, minimal head, slight lacing. Some sweetness, thin feel. Drinkable, nothing rude coming through, a decent brew.
2.4 Nothing out of the norm on the smell. Looks like pale lager. Nice stream visual co2 in the glass. Good sharp pilsner bite. Seems more than the 4.5% listed here. Pretty good co2 in this one on the palate. Leaves that almost medium astringent finish.
3.1 It poured a golden color with a white head. The aroma was of sweet grass and a little citrus. The taste was similar with a sweet pale malt and mild hop bitterness in the backbone. Nice.
3.2 Pours a dark golden color with a large head that fades to nice lacing. Floral aroma, with citrus, mild malt sweetness and grain. Taste of citrus, mild malt sweetness, bit of fruit and grain. Nice bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body, crisp, clean and refreshing. Easy drinker, good for a few.
2.9 Pale Yellow, Medium Head, Little Lacing. Faint Floral Grainy Aroma. Grain, Slightly Sweet, Lightly Bitter At the End. Somewhat Watery, crisp, lasting bitter aftertaste. Drinkable, Thirst Quencher. Standard, Nothing too Good, Nothing Too Bad. OK.
3.6 Classic pilsener. Poured from a 12oz bottle. Very little lacing. Finishes fairly smooth
2.4 12oz bottle from variety pack - pours pale straw with white head. Nose is floral. Flavor adds the slightest malty backbone. Up there with adjunct beer.
2.1 12oz bottle, pours clear golden with healthy amount of white head. Smells of grain and corn. Pretty light on taste.
3.2 On tap at MSP airport. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Flavor has light grass hops with sweet grains and a touch of biscuit.
3.1 Pours a light golden yellow with medium head. Aroma and flavor are marked by some grassiness, floral and citrus flavors, with a rather sweet finish to it. It’s a good, though not great, pilsener.
