3.3 The beer pours a golden body, with a sudsy head that dwindles away quickly. There's a cloudy of "floaties" easily seen, likely particles of hop lupalin. The smell is rather light as hoppy beers go. Just a slight resiny note. The first taste is a bit dry rather than malty. There's the slight bitterness of dry hopping, on top of a bit more pine resin. The hop bitterness grows as I work my way down the pint can. But the beer stays approachable, with malt flavor equal to the Northwestern hop load.
3.3 Draft. It pours gold with a white head and lacing. It has a grassy herbal aroma with a very light bitterness level.
4.1 Taste: fresh crisp herbal, some grassy hop notes mix with caramel malts and cracker dry finish. Same with the nose. Amber, semi clear, tall white head with ring lattice of lace. Medium body. very drinkable and balanced Pale Ale.
3.6 16 oz. can poured to a Czech-pils glass at Lunar Brewing Co. showing a slightly hazed, orangey/gold color, a presentable layer of soft white foam that reduced to a persistent ring & film, with spots & strands of lacing. The nose was a sachet-like mix of spice & floral hints, with citrus and orange peel. Medium bodied, with average carbonation, the taste was similar, adding just a bit of mellowing malt, good citrus & rind-like astringency, and some dryness to the finish. Not overly assertive as the description touts, and somewhat light on the distinctive malt character for the style, but a decent, nicely drinkable brew, nonetheless.
4.2 Can into tulip. Aroma of pineapple and slight spice. Malt evident and not too tart hop profile. Medium lacing. Very palatable.
3.0 Nice aroma of citrus, pineapple. Nice light orange color with a full light tan head. Sweet malt up front. Fresh pineapple and other citrus tones come next. Bitterness is light, earthy piney. Lighter mouth feel...a bit thin. O.k. Crushable.
3.8 Pours a yellow / gold with a thick white head, Citrus hops in the taste and aroma. Nice, balanced bitterness,
3.5 Poured from a can. Aroma of hops and some pine. Clear amber coloring with a thin white lacing. Taste is pretty smooth, hop blend and a little bitterness. Good drinking beer.
3.4 Has a good hoppy flavor. Bit weak on aroma. Looked good in the glass. Drinkable
3.4 Smooth pale ale with piney and mildly citrusy hops. Caramel color and a nice moderately roasted malt taste. Slight metallic flavor was the only negative. Tasted in Indianapolis.
2.9 Pours an amber color with a beige head. Nose is hoppy, mild citrus but not overwhelming ! Taste is hoppy with mild resin and pine ....awfully dull ! Finishes on the same tasting notes. Average at best ! Quaff Score 6 / 10......5-3-6-3-12
3.3 Can on 4th of july downtown indy marketplace with the family. Drank from the can and bottle I poured it into so I cant say much on the appearance. Aromas were medium hoppy and somewhat on the pine/earthy side. Flavors were medium to light sweetness with a touch of dry. Light to medium hop flavor with a touch of caramel backing. Decent but not going to remember.
3.0 Pour from a 16 oz can, dated 14 April 2017. Clear pale amber brew with white head. Aroma of weak fruity hops - melon notes - and light citrus. Taste is very mild malt with moderate bitter hops, some fruity / melon notes emerge late in the swallow with a modest hops flourish in the finish where the dry hopping emerges. Weak and restrained. It’s OK for what is there and is enjoyable and refreshing - but something of an APA lite.
3.5 Poured from can dated 1/26/17 golden orange with a thin white head. Aromas of citrus and pine. Taste is caramel floral citrus and nice bitterness.
3.5 Pours clear golden with a white head. It has a medium body with semi sharp carbonation. The taste has pineapple, grapefruit spice and light malt. Good.
2.8 Can from a trade. Aroma is biscuit malt initially followed by a light cascade and grapefruit hop aroma. hazy orange pour with a decent sized off white head. Taste is initially all bitter then a light dusty malt flavor. After that everything just kind of fall flat and lifeless. Meh at best.
3.5 On tap at Hunah Day. Pours a hazy orange copper with small off white head. The aroma is citrus and pine. Medium body, citrus, grass, nice bitter finish, very good.
3.1 2015 BJCP Category: 18B American Pale Ale AROMA: Light piney hops; some amber malt notes but no specific character. 7/12 APPEARANCE: Dark amber/orange proper. Fairlt hazy but plenty of CO2 visible. Moderate white foam mostly dissipates. 2/3 FLAVOR: Piney hops throughout, but low on the bitterness. Low to moderate clean grainy-malt character provides balance but is not especially sweet. No off flavors, but palette is a little boring as it’s rather mild. 12/20 MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation. Crisp, but not refreshing per se. Slightly dry aftertaste. 4/5 OVERALL IMPRESSION: Nothing wrong with this beer other than being mild and kind of boring. Drinkability is nice at least. 6/10 TOTAL SCORE: 31/50 DISCLAIMER: The author is not a certified BJCP judge; therefore, this score sheet is not necessarily indicative of proper BJCP judging techniques and protocol. 3.2 First beer on a three hour wait at the Indy airport.... Great choice!!! Goes down smooth finishes clean with slight citrus notes. I'll drink this one again!
2.9 Golden in color with a sticky foam. I’m mixed about the aroma. Some bread maybe, citrus, not really sure. Not bad just nothing outstanding. Body was under carbonated. Nothing terrific.
3.6 Draft - pours orange white head -nose/taste of juicy orange peel, grapefruit peel, caramel malt - medium body
3.0 Pint can from Keg Liquors; dated 5/12/16 (Packaged-on date) Aroma: Moderate citrusy/lightly floral Cascade-like hops and lighter caramel biscuit at about a 60/40 balance. Very SNPA inspired. Appearance: Caramel gold with soft carbonation holding up a foamy white cap that settles into a patchy skin. Flavor: Starts out more malty and gradually builds up momentum hop-wise; the finish is at once semi dry but citrusy and lightly bitter. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Good SNPA clone that is solid all around, but is nothing to seek out as an exemplar in the style.
3.4 Bright hop nose, shimmering pale gold, low tight head. Crisp body with a light malt taste that dissolves quickly into a tight hop bitterness. Thin, and very happy for a PA, it’s more like an IPA.
3.5 Light Amber colored with a medium fizzy head. Light malt and hop nose. Malt, long lasting medium bodied.
3.5 Can shared by Miles. Osiris is a clear brassy gold with a caramel fruity aroma. Kind of middle of the road, it has a med-full body with a fruity sweet flavor and a juicy hop character but doesn’t leave such a strong impression.
3.5 16 ounce can from Delocks. Pours a golden orange copper with little head and a lot of carbonation. Aroma has citrus and sweet fruits and sweet malts with some apple. Taste is of sweet malts, citrus, sweet fruits. Biscuity malts. Light and sweet. The carbonation is constant, the alcohol present is very light. Light to medium bodied, and the blend is solid. Finishes more sweet than bitter and fairly short. This is a decent pale, to the light side, without a lot to distinguish it from the pack. 13.8
3.2 Pretty like able beer. It definitely tows the line between a true apa and classic pale. Aroma could offer more. Some hop taste but not super clear or true. Just a little bitterness which is a ok. I think if they increase the nose on this that would carry through the other aspects of this beer and make it a better experience. As it was I'll have another and try their spring IPA. My mother in law picked these up for me. What a great mother in law. She had glowing things to say about the staff at sun king. So thank you for taking care of mom in law sun king.
3.5 This stuff is solid. It’s clear and orange south a foamy head. It’s got a nice citric hop nose. It’s pretty mild but nice and full bodied with just a touch of hop bitterness. This isn’t really exceptional but drinkable and tasty regardless.
3.0 On tap. Golden pale color. Nose was vacant. Palate is decent, even balance of hops and malt. Not at all complex. Balanced, drinkable, but not remarkable.
3.2 Taster, gold with white head... Mild floral and pine notes... Balanced smooth bitter finish...
