Wee Mac is a Scottish style brown ale. Fermented at cooler than normal temperatures to mimic the climate of Scotland. Wee Mac is an easy drinking brown ale that is both smooth and malty wit caramel and chocolate tones. Hops are used sparingly in this beer and serve only to help balance the sweetness of the malt.

3.312 oz can pours a clear dark reddish-brown color with small off-white head and hardly any lacing. Aroma has toffee, peat, and perhaps some cocoa. Taste is more bitter than sweet, with hops counterbalancing the toffee. Body is light to medium with average carbonation. This is an easily drinkable yet easily forgettable brown ale.
3.312 oz can from Florida with a 13 October 2018 BB date.
It pours with a clear, copper colored body topped by a short but durable beige head.
Aroma: mild; malts with faint spices.
Flavor: moderately strong for style. About equally bitter and sweet.
Feel: medium body with medium-light carbonation.
3.112 oz. can poured to a Czech-pils glass at home showing a clear, amber highlighted brown tone, with a presentable layer of tan froth that reduced to a ring, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was slightly metallic, mild toast with a bit of roast, a touch of caramel sweetness, and a hint of toffee. Light+ bodied, the taste was somewhat similar, with less expressive notes, decent spritz to the carbonation, but some disconcerting tartness & tanginess that lingered, and didn't fit, imo. Texture started to wane as it finished a bit dry, and without any earthy/peaty notes that I usually attribute to the style.
3.38/28/18 - Tallahassee, Fl - Growler Country - flight. Dark copper pour, nice glow, thin khaki colored head. Light toffee in the aroma. Flavor has a pleasant sweetness to it, some toffee, some nuttiness, hint of carsmael. Smooth mouthfeel.
3.6Pours translucent chocolate with a fair buff head that leaves good lacing. Aroma offers roast malt, cloves, caramel and subtle chocolate notes. Flavor yields roast malt, earthy, nutty, caramel and shy chocolate tones. Texture provides fairly firm body and peppy fizz. Get your wee Scottish on!
2.5Not the best Scottish ale I’ve had. Decent peaty malt flavors with a hint of caramel. Not real smooth in balance between malt and cereal flavors- not sure how quite to describe but just not much to write home about with this one.
3.3The smell is a little lighter in the usual peat or smoke, but it is detectable, nonetheless. It pours a nice brown ale color in a glass, under a foamy head that is gone after a few minutes.
The taste has a bit of the nuttiness of a northern brown ale. A slight bit of smokiness at the back of the palate. This is not too sweet, but achieves a bit of a dry finish without interference from hop additions. The overall effect is between a Northern Brown like a Newcastle, and a Wee Heavy: somewhat filling, but at 5.3% abv, it doesn't weigh the drinker down at meals.
3.6Dark copper. Very sweet malty Caramel. Light body. Bonus beer left behind by Seymour. Easy drinking. Why so low rated?
3.8This is a great beer I would recommend it to anyone. It has a complex taste that goes down smoothly
3.8Shared from can into nonic half-pint glasses, thanks Jake! Near-opaque brown colour with beige foam, lasting with lace. Fantastic soft fruit aromas, better than flavour. Malty, just a little earty hop presence, mild bitterness, as is typical of this style. Cola, caramel, mellower than many American craft-brewed Scottish style ales. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation, lingering malty aftertaste. Good stuff.
3.8Can. Rich caramel malt aroma with notes of cocoa, hazelnut and a hint of smoke. Pours deep caramel brown with a thin white head that has little retention and some lacing. Starts with with rich caramel malt and cocoa flavors. Finishes smooth with nutty character and just a little bit of smoke. Nice Scottish Ale.
2.6Appearance: Darker red brown. Nearly opaque. Thin layer of small tan bubbles. Good lace
Nose: Rich caramel malty nose. Bready with a slight bitter edge.
Taste: Medium roasted malt forward, moderately sweet caramel. Lightly bitter finish
Body: medium to lighter with light carbonation.
Parting thoughts: a decent Scottish ale.
2.7Pours brown with a beige head that faded very quickly. The aroma is a little more subdued, with toasted malt, caramel, raisin, nuts, and bread. The taste is dry and has a light bitterness found early in the sip. The flavor is more nutty than anything else, though the toasted elements are rather strong as well. Its mildly floral and has buttery hints, an unusual cola flavor, and caramel. The caramel serves as a short and weak finish. Light in body and with a thin texture. I found this to be rather bland.
3.7Taste: roasted dark malts, cocoa, hazelnut, sweet toffee notes. Same with the nose. Dark brown, partly clear, with a delicate head and lace. Medium/full body. Clean finish.
2.3355ml can. Dark amber pour, light tan/offwhite head. ARoma is herbal and buttery. Flavor is malt liquory with english ale yeast, gross.
3.2It pours bronze with an off white head. It has a light body with mild carbonation. The taste has dry toffee, dried dates with light toast. Okay Scottish ale.
2.7Malty chocolate aroma. Deep brown color. Malty up front, watery mouth feel. Average.
3.1A pretty decent scottish ale. Darker than most. Chocolate and coffee. Some caramel and sweet bread. Picked this up at the Indy airport in 2016.
3.2Dark reddish pour from 16oz can at Home. Carmel and malty flavor. Rich and full body. Not bad for the style
3.4Slightly hazy, amber-brown pour with a frothy off-white head. The aroma has toasted malt and mild caramel. It has a light, somewhat thin body with average carbonation. The taste is sweet with a slightly sticky finish.earthy,
2.3can @ Keg Liquors / Clarksville IN --- 11/May/2016 --- Aroma of malt. Clear dark orange amber brown color, beige head that slowly shrinks to a cover, light lace dots. Taste is malt that sweeps into medium carbonation that then ushers in what I can only conclude is Coke. Light hops in a short finish. It’s only been three months since May, but I believe this is past its date.
3.3Ruby/orange in color with a thin head. Deep malt aroma. Biscuit, toast, and bread with caramel notes in the back end and finish.
2.22015 BJCP Category: 14C Scottish Export
AROMA: Low maltiness with faint confectionery notes and red fruit. Nose is mild overall, though. 7/12
APPEARANCE: Clear dark copper/burgundy hue. Large off-white foam quickly and completely dissipates. 1/3
FLAVOR: Mild, bland palette. Malt-focused, but little distinct character. Trace confectionery notes; slightly minerally. No hop presence. Can is fairly fresh but seems old, though no signs of oxidation. 8/20
MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body; low carbonation. Watery texture. Smooth and easy to drink; clean aftertaste. 2/5
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Entirely too bland to enjoy. No glaring flaws, just not to style. 4/10
TOTAL SCORE: 22/50

4.4Great choice as a second one from Sun King!
Beautiful Amber color and inviting aroma give this brew its character.
3.1Quick notes of scotch malts. Crisp middle hint of caramel? At the brewery in Indy.

3.0draft - pours caramel brown - nose/taste of sticky resin, caramel and light tree bark - med body
5.0My favorite beer! I love scotch ales and this is one of the best. Wish I could buy it in kansas
3.36 oz. from a pint can; from Keg Liquors (Clarksville). Aroma: Moderate almonds; moderate toast; a touch of tootsie roll. Appearance: Copper brown with soft carbonation holding up a scant tan head. Flavor: Combined malt notes with more chocolate for the duration; a light leaf tobacco hop presence comes out near the finish, which is semi-dry. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Nice beer, and close enough to session strength to enjoy a few.
1.1This is weak sauce. Reminds me of home brew made with canned malt. Flat head, sweet malt, weak body. Nothing Scottish about it.
3.1Aroma is malty beer, but nothing that reminds me of Scotch Ale. Flavor does deliver a little in that way. Body, despite being malty, is still a touch thin. An ok beer. I’ll enjoy this one, but not get another.
