Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end.

3.9Plechovkove zakoupené na internetovém obchodu americanbeer.cz. na to že nemám rád staré karamelove ipy tak tohle bylo opravdu dobre.
4.0Furious indeed. Smack you in the face hops and malts, like the whole spruce true was thrown in the wood chipper, strained and bottled along with a similar stream from a field of barley. From a can that was just shy of its first birthday, canned 11-18-19.
3.2Pour is a hazy brown orange with a large white head. Aroma is old school cascade and simcoe grapefruit hops. Flavor is a super dry malt with more old school hops with a lasting bittering. Not a hops bomb and not a sweet malt bomb as well. This was old school all the way but by today's standards this was average at best.
4.016 ounce can. Amber orange pour topped by a huge rocky beige head. Toasted malt aroma hints at toffee and mint. Flavor is more toasted malt, caramel and earthy pine. Notes of black tea and orange pith. Wonderfully complex. Outstanding.
3.8Good
3.6Can. Pours a brown amber color. Taste is boozy and sweet. Decent sipper but easy to drink faster.
3.7Aroma has alcohol on it. Dark brown amber pour. Kind of like a barley wine. Taste is caramel malts, hops, medium bitterness, some citrus and lemon drop.
3.8Draft at Iron Horse Neighborhood grille in Osceola, IA. Amber color with a thick off-white head. Very hoppy pine an citrus notes. It has a malty caramel backbone.
3.5on tap at The Hulmeville Inn - clear golden amber color. Bitter hop finish. Decent hop aroma.
3.8Can thanks to Drake! Copper, nearly amber with a beige head. Pine, resin, grapefruit peel aromas. Resin, pine, citrus peel, black pepper. Wow, deep flavors. Resiny, but not grossly so. This is nice.
3.9Deep copper color with an off white head. Nutty malt flavors pair nicely with an aggressive hop array. Quite bitter. Pine and resin hops. Well done
2.4Like the flavor of the hops and the light Carmel background of the grain to balance the bitterness. Didn’t care for the flavor of what is believed to be rye.
3.8Really liked this golden IPA on tap at Wexford pub for the clean crisp big delivery of hops.
2/20 On tap at Mad Mex
4.0Can pour into pub glass from Friar Tuck, Crestwood. Appearance is lightly hazy light brown with tons of sparkle, 2-finger width beige foamy head with excellent retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is dank pine and citrus over malt backbone. Taste is similar to aroma with dank piney resin, mild citrus and more prominent caramel/bread malt backbone. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste with dry, lingering bitterness. Overall, the west coast danky bitter is not my favorite IPA but this one manages to offset quite a bit of bitterness with enough malt balance to pull it off. Well crafted.
3.8Pours a clear orange yellow color with aroma of citrus, caramel, and pine. Very flavorful with grapefruit, caramel, pine, and a slight hop bite. Very nice!
3.4High expectations, on tap at Proper Pint. Darker than most IPAs, pretty medium brown. Aromas of sawdust, toffee and walnut shells. On hte flavor side, just goes too far, not overly metallic but a bit. the toffee malt tries to balance, but also clashes a little with the resin. A bit thin on the palate. clean finish
4.2This beer is absolutely perfect for sipping. Imagine you're at a restaurant and you promised yourself that you'll only have 3 beers. well look no further. after 3 pints of this I primes you that you'll have to perfect buzz. The strong hobby flavor also makes it so you won't drink too much before your food gets there and get too hungry. would recommend to anyone who loves hoppy IPAs and getting drunk.
3.9It pours deep amber with an off white head. Head retention is very good. There are aromas of pine, citrus, and floral. There is a low bread background. The flavors have pine, citrus and floral as well. The bready malt is low initially and then strong throughout the taste. It has a medium body with long lasting bitterness in the finish. Overall, a hop forward and well bittered beer with a nice hoppy malty finish.
1.8Sampled in a blind taste-test on 11/11/2019. Pours a honey color with a sparse head and average lacing. Very hoppy. Bitter. Sour. Spew.
3.516 ounce can at the house. Bought at Lizardville in Copley Ohio. Scent of soft pine. Amber in color with a fluffy off white head. Taste of soft pine. Well balanced and smooth. Hop aftertaste. Very nice for the style. Cheers!
4.01 pint can. Smells strongly of herbal hops character, pine, and a bit of citrus. Amber/ light brown in color light haze. A delightful hop-bomb of an IPA. Starts with the slightest bit of sweet malt followed by a bitter hop blast. I get hints of citrus, followed by citrus pith, resinous pine. Hops, hops, and more hops. Finish is bitter, medium bodied, not sticky like some other higher ABV IPA's can be. If you are looking for something with some serious IBU's and bitterness give this one a try.
3.6On tap at Dive 106. Pours orange brown. Biscuit, orange, grapefruit, orange peel, lemon. Medium body. Decent.
3.8Light amber color. Lots of hop bitterness. Looks and tastes like a little brother to Arrogant Bastard----and I don't mean that as an insult.
3.912 oz can. Pours amber, clear except for some fine particles, with an off-white head. Pine and grapefruit hop aroma. Flavor leads with pine again, grapefruit, herbal hops. Nice bitterness to it. Quite good.
3.4Can, from Malt & Mold. Pours clear dark amber/copper with large foamy light beige head, very faint piney aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter caramel malt-resinous taste, thin body, long bitter finish. Classical American style IPA.
4.0The color of the beer was a darker shade of amber, and the body was topped by a one finger thick head. The aroma was quite mild for the style, with floral hops and a touch of hay. The taste was hoppy but not overly bitter. The hops were almost noble in character, and quite mellow. The feel was very dry and finish was delicate. The beer was easy drinking and simple, but the whole was greater than the sum of its parts.
3.6Nice pour from a pretty unattractive can. Aroma is fresh and floral. I was hoping for a better flavor, but I got to like it more. This is mostly dry and grassy/herbal with a bitter, orange peel/pith finish. There is a bit of the caramel they tout on the can. Some fizz and tingle on the palate. This is 5 weeks old so it is not past it's prime. A good beer, maybe not as good as some of the reviews here imo.
3.9Can from Healthy Spirits. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with grapefruit, hops, pine, a bit of resin, fruits, grass and caramel. Bitter finish with grapefruit, hops, pine, grass, a bit of fruits and resin. Excellent IPA.
4.0Tap at a Green’s tasting. Clear orange with a medium frothy white head. Listed as 100 IBUs and the flavors confirm - lots of grapefruit and resiny pine, but balanced nicely with caramel and earth so doesn’t sear your mouth into oblivion. Medium carb, medium body, oily texture. More hops on the finish. Nice hops showcase, excellent.
