Dorit Ansari is from Germany. Omar Ansari is her son. He has a brewery. She wanted a beer that reminded her of home. This is that beer.
Hell is a pale-gold lager not unlike the zwickelbiers popular in Dorit’s hometown of Bremen. It’s not filtered and it’s brewed with lager yeast. You can expect bready malt aromas and flavors, floral hops, and a balanced finish.
BTW: The name is a reference to the German word for “light”, not Satan’s nefarious kingdom, so you don’t have to sell your soul for another.

3.52018-09-20. Crisp yellow body, nice white head. Aroma is lightly grassy, mild malt. Flavour is similar, lightly fruity, lightly grassy. Smooth average to light bodied palate. Decent. 7/3/7/3/15 Can shared by Matt G.
3.3Found in can in variety pack from binnys in Springfield, Illinois. Pour clear gold with a medium but long lasting head. One of my favorite I've had for the style. Really good hot shower beer.
3.512 oz. can. Pours orange, with a big, foamy, off-white head. The aroma is straw, caramel, rose, light banana, and apple. Sweet and yeasty, with a light bitterness. Light body, with a crisp, clean finish. This is a simple, and well made beer.
3.5Pale golden-straw coloured pour with a thin white head. The aroma is quite spicy and a bit zesty. Has a decent peppery/herbal aroma. There's a solid spiciness and a bit of floral notes. Pretty nice lager. Firm bitterness.
3.4Nice to enjoy. Quite soft in features and great to drink. Goldie in most looks and refreshing.
3.7Draft at Surly event at Craft Brewed. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Very nice grain-forward nose with some cereal and lemon notes. Smooth and crisp and highly drinkable, with nice body for a helles. Light, peppery finish that lingers. Very nice.
3.3Doughy aroma with lemon and slightly earthy. Very see through pale yellow with bright white head. Very drinkable, mild hops, lemon essence, crisp aftertaste. Slick palate that is bigger than the ABV. Not my favorite style but this was a good representation of it.
2.6Hazy yellow, fluffy head which quickly disappears leaving behind a thick lacing.
Smooth, sweet up front with minimal carbonation.
Some skunkiness, dough, very low bitterness which is all in the wash.
Canned on 1/17/18, consumed on 4/26/18.
$15.99/multi variety 12 pack of 12oz cans at Total Wine and More, Boca Raton, Florida
3.4Can. Mostly clear golden pour with a white head. Aroma is soft bread and cereal malt, slight floral hops. Taste is about the same, subtle bitterness up front, a little bready, light, a bit of sweetness.
3.9Clear gold with a fluffy white head. Smells like bready pils malt with some subtle sweetness, and floral and lemony hops. The flavor is great, really good German style lager.
3.84/8/18: 16 Oz canned on 11/22/17 @ 8:54, gift from my brother, poured into flute glass. Golden clear pour. Puffy white head, white lacing as head dissipated, mild carbonation. Strong wheat and bread aroma, sweet. Taste matches aroma, light wheat taste, nice for this style. Thin texture, carbonation holds, nice mouth feel. Overall very good offering, well done Surely!
3.4Mild aroma of fresh bread, hint of lemon. Nice hazy golden color with a lacy white head. Sweet bready malt up front quickly followed by an earthy bitterness with some pepper. Finish is in the bitter side, but Mild. Very pilsner like: Interestingly good.
3.5Pours a hazy pale gold with a decent rocky white head that dissipates somewhat. Grainy and grassy aroma. Taste is sweet pale malt, crackers, bread, some honey and a medium dose of grassy bitter hops. Very nice and refreshing. More like a hoppy zwickel rather than a helles.
3.5I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste mildly sweet, grain, summery. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.
3.4Light straw/gold color; Medium slightly creamy body: Aroma of malt, grain/hay, and hops; Flavor of slight sweet malt, grain, hops, and citrus; Nicely balanced; Nice.
4.7Reminds me of the first time I tasted beer. Full of malty flavor and just a touch of bitterness.
3.7Lots of depth and character. Looks sexy in a glass. Smooth and bready up front, mild bitterness on the finish. Lasts a long time on the palate. Good stuff but at a price
3.7Can. It poured a hazy dark yellow with a nice white head that had good retention. Nice malty aroma with some hop bitterness in the taste. Fairly clean finish. Very nice lager.
4.7As far as lagers go, this is absolutely the top of my list. Really nice malt with an easy bitterness. Perfect for sipping in the summer.
3.6Pours a slightly hazy, yellow from the can with thin white head. Aroma of bready malt. Taste is clean, overall decent, leaves some bitterness
3.2On tap in a large lager glass. Light colored and light bodied. Flavor is crisp and light. Well crafted. I think this is a little more like a German pilsner than a Helles, but that’s a fine distinction. Not a bad beer, but also not a lot of flavor here (but not surprised).
3.3Very mild malt flavor with a bit of an overwhelming hop flavor on the finish. Would be a good beer for those who like hoppy lagers. I would like to see the beer a bit more balanced.
3.8Draught at the brewery. Pours clear gold with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is moderate Pils husky and grainy malt with medium earthy and spicy hops. Flavor is moderate Pils grainy and husky malt with light earthy and spicy hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation.
3.6Pale yellow pour. Some floral aroma notes. Taste is sweet malt and some grains. Definitely more bitter than most helles. Some earthy notes as well. Very good overall
3.9Pours clear yellow with a white head. It has clean pale malt and light herbal hops. It has a medium body with mild carbonation. The taste is simple, clean and delightful. Nice German hops stick around.
3.0Minneapolis, Mn - Target Field - Twins Game - 16 oz can, Pours a slightly sparkling, light golden with a thin white head, Aroma is buttery with hints of olive oil. Flavor has some of the same accents with some salty notes. Crisp grassy finish. Decent mouthfeel. Decent Helles, good representative of the style.
3.9C+. Pours a hazy yellow color with white head. Aroma of fresh bread, dry finish
3.9Can. Moderate grain and straw for the malt, light herbs for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with notes paper and pepper in the background. Head is large, frothy turning rocky, white, with thick crusty lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is sparkling clear straw. Flavor starts faintly sweet and lightly acidic, then the long finish is moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, a little slick, with a lively carbonation and a dry finish. Super nice Helles. Maybe a touch more bitter than a true German Helles but overall it ranks up there with the best of them.
3.5Pours clear, pale gold. Slight fizzy white head. Nice aroma of slightly sweet dough, and a hint of banana. Flavor - mellow, slightly sweet followed by a drier, slightly bitter finish. Nice palate, good body for a lager, Overall, a real drinkable beer, pretty straight-forward, with some nice flavor.
3.702.23.2017 canned on date, 16floz ($6/four-pack), poured into a pint glass. The billowy head is an interesting touch to this golden lager, the wet hay aroma is about right for the style. A very good American take on the helles style. Perhaps not as "clean" tasting due to an a light-moderate, earthy hop snap to flush out basic grain flavor. Fuller feel than what is known for this category of beers, so it is a pace beer.
