One of our flagship beers, slightly different in flavour every year! A splendid, maroon-coloured beer with fine aromas of spiced fruit, orange peel and well-roasted malt to delight the nose. The flavour is a spicy balance of caramel, citrus and slightly bitter hops to restore that warm feeling during the dark days of winter. If stored in a cool, dark place, IJndejaars will keep for years.
Note: Until 2005 called IJndejaars, from 2006 until 2008 called Turbock and in 2009 they started using the old name IJndejaars again.

Pours hazy amber with a lasting, big, frothy, off-white head; lots of lacing. Aroma of hand soap, perfume by extent, orange peel, honey, lavender, almond, caramel, raisin, cookie dough. Taste is medium fruity sweet, notes of raisin, plum & orange (peel), some caramel & honey; light herbal bitterness brings this into balance with cookie spices & green tea, meanwhile a perfumed & soapy effect comes into play, whilst a faintly lemony & even wheaty sourness pops up in the back. Dryish, herbal hoppy finish, lingering spices, orange peel, caramel, and quite subtle warming herbal liqueur alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Easy 'big' beer that does not demand too much of the drinker.
One of the many Christmas beers. A strong sweet ale with extra spices. A bit like Belgian triple.

Lekker stevig Eindejaarsbier met een volle smaak. Ambertje met hint naar zoetigheid en sinaasappel. 9% alcohol uit Amsterdam.
Fles 33cl thuis. Kruidig, bloemig, rood fruit, zoetje, pepertje, alcoholwarmte, bittertonen, goede balans. (12-2014).
Bottle from Bierwinkel. Slightly cloudy red gold with decent beige head. Mod carb. Strong malty and start with thick mouthfeel with some alcohol burn and a mildly bitter finish. Nice
For some reason i had both a tick and a rating here, and with the new ratebeer setup for ticks (est. '18) I seem to have lost the rating. Pitty. Warrants a re-rate.
Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, barna szín. Malátás, kissé fűszeres, egy hajszálnyit karamelles illat. Malátás, kissé karamelles, visszafogottan fűszeres. Közepesen testes, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Finom, jól kiegyensúlyozott sör.

The looks of the beer are nice. Not very special, but this beer type doesn't require special looks. The beer has a nice amber color and it is crystal clear. I noticed some flakes in the bottle though, that I didn't dare pouring. On top of the beer there is some slightly off-white foam, that collapses over time leaving a thin drape only. Not bad, but not very special.
The taste is fine, but also not super special. I smell some malts, giving some light roasted aromas and some nice caramel. Hop aromas arn't very strong, but they give some spicy and citrusy aromas. The yeast is nice and has some spiciness to, and has a nice aroma that is typical for the Brouwerij 't IJ beers. Nicely done.
The taste of the beer is very, very nice. Nice sweet malts, with a lovely bitterness of slightly burnt malts and nice caramel, forms a good base. It is quite a sweet beer, making it a nice winter beer (in my opinion at least). The sweetness of the alcohol contributes to this. There is also a hint of dried raisins. Hops give some nice fruity notes. Some citrus notes, but a strong hint of peach is there. The hops are bitter, but not to bitter. Bitter enough to balance out the heavy sweets tough. The spiciness of the yeast finishes it all, giving it a distinct 't IJ flavour. Nicely done.
The palate of the beer is very nice. Full body, smooth texture and low carbonation. Alcohol percentage is high, resulting in a nice tingle from the alcohol and a warming sensation that is great. The finish contains some nice fruity notes, raisin, fruity hops and spicy yeast. The alcohol lingers on for quite some time, inviting for another sip. Very nice beer.
Tap @ Barista Njoy, Den Helder XII 2018.Aan originaliteit nooit een gebrek bij de brouwerij aan 't IJ. Met zijn naam IJndejaars. Maar wat belangrijker is, smaakt het ook naar een biertje wat je met oud en nieuw om twaalf uur laat poppen. Laat ik meteen binnen stormen het is een heel karamel kruidig biertje.
Het begint met een mooie oranje rode kleur, licht troebel met een mee kleurende schuimkraag. Zoetigheid waarvan de kruiden lekker in je neus blijven hangen. Het is zoete karamel met kardemom kruidnagel en een lichte hint van sinaasappelschilletjes. Licht bitter kortom het heeft alles van een mooie winterbiertje. Alleen dit is nu niet echt een biertje wat je om twaalf uur laat knallen. Maar daarin tegen het heel goed in begin van de avond voordat het feest los barst. Alleen dan wel oppassen het is en blijft een vrij sterk biertje om mee te starten.

Bottle. Hazy amber color with beige head. Aroma is raisins, estery, jammy fruits. Taste is raisins, fruity esters, booze, sugar. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Solid!
A fine fresh and fruity beer, perfect to end the year with, nice label too.
Yes, this is the way to end a year! Even though is the 9th of December, the warmth and spicyness of this beer give me a good feeling at the end of this year!
Belle robe ambrée, caramel, mousse blanche moyenne laissant une dentelle sur le verre. Nez malté : caramel, biscuit, fruits secs : marron et noix, très épicé également, notes de fruits confits. Bouche douce et sucrée, saveurs de plum pudding : épices, caramel, sucre, mélasse, marrons. Alcool très présent et chaleureux, bonne longueur, faible amertume, carbo correcte. Une belle bière de noel !

2 mois APRÈS DLC. Ambrée petite mousse à tenue moyenne et carbo moyenne. Arôme de type belge sur les fruits. Tres maltée sur le malt toasté, alcool bien présent. Belle rondeur. Une bonne bière !

Bottle at home, orange/amber beer, small head. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit. dark fruit. Taste is the same, sweet and some bitterness, ok beer.
Bottle at csakajo. Clear, copperish, orange colour small white lacing. Nose is cilantro, some uncooked vegetables. Taste is low sweetness, light cilantro. Fast finish. Dunno was expecting more.
Voici une bière d’hiver qui vous réchauffera à coup sûr, avec un degré d’alcool de 9 % Abv, un sucre bien présent et des arômes pleins, de fruits et d’épices. L’ensemble manque malheureusement d’élégance et d’originalité pour en faire une bière inoubliable. De robe ambrée (EBC aux alentours de 34) et quasi limpide, notre IJndejaars est surmontée d’une mousse blanche de 5 minimètres d’épaisseur avec une effervescence peu poussée. Le nez manque un peu d’intensité mais est sur une belle complexité avec du le sucre de canne, du caramel, des fruits confits (pommes, orange) et des épices (cannelle et girofle). A la dégustation, l’attaque,souple est orientée sur les fruits confits et les épices. La deuxième bouche est davantage sur le fruit (non confit), avec des arômes de pêche et de pomme auxquels viennent s’ajouter celui du caramel et des notes poivrées. L’arrière bouche est quant à elle sur un bel équilibre malt/houblon avec une présence épicées plus importante. La troisième montre une amertume légèrement plus affirmée (celle ci restant tout de même modérée) avec un alcool se faisant plus présent et conférant la chaleur nécessaire aux bières hivernales. La corpulence est quant à elle bonne avec des arômes bien présents en bouche. Le final, relativement long est plus élancé avec des notes de fruits confits refaisant leur apparition (notamment orange) sur des notes d’épices (girofle et cannelle) bien présentes. Rien d’exceptionnel en soit, mais cette ’t IJ IJndejaars vous permettra de passer un hiver au chaud!
The beer has got a deep amber-brown colour with a steady head and smooth body. Aroma of malt and yeast. taste of yeast, malt, oranges, spices, herbs and barley. Malty finish.

Bottle from saveur-biere.com . Pours dark red, nose is toffee, caramel, citrus. Palate is sweet, toffee, caramel, but also some bitterness and boozyness. Finish is spicy. It’s sadly already to warm for this here ;), but good.
Caramel taste, a steady kind of, unoffensive bitterness. A little bit sweet, but not too much, yet there was nothing truly special about this one to me, either. It was okay!
Nice beer. Amber colour. Subtle citrus notes, mostly in the smell. Banana, creamy. Subtle bitterness.
Amberkleurig, helder, crèmekleurige schuimkraag.
Aroma: Vol moutig, licht geroosterd, kruidig en peperig en een sinaasappelschil prikkel.
Smaak: Zoet fruitig.....donker fruit, geroosterde zoete volle mouten, karamel, lekker kruidig en iets peperig. De bitter is floraal en netelig en de Alcohol geeft wat warmte maar is toch op de achtergrond.
Volle body, zacht mondgevoel met matig koolzuur ......romig, bitterzoete afdronk.
Goed spul..... op naar 2017!
