Formerly called ’t IJ Scharrel IJwit
A full-bodied, Amsterdam wheat beer that is dangerously ‘moreish’. Slightly cloudy, it has a beautiful golden colour and a soft, foamy head. When we brew IJwit, we use wheat malt as well as barley malt, which is also how the beer gets its name. The wheat malt gives the beer a delightful, fresh flavour, and the addition of coriander and lemon during the brewing process produces a rich aroma of banana, citrus and spices. Topped off by a fine, slightly sweet aftertaste, IJwit is a delicious thirst-quencher.

Bottle at Tel Aviv Craft Beer Festival. Hazy yellow, big bubbly head. Coriander, citrus, spicy yeast. Sweetish, spicy , citric (lemon), zesty, coriander seeds, phenolic, dry finish. Light-medium bodied.
Pours hazy yellow with a small but long lasting foam. Taste is bittersweet with notes of wheat, ripe banana and crispier spices. Taste is crispier than aroma with flavors of lemon and spices. Sweeter malty flavors are on the background, completing the overall. A tasty and well balanced brew with the typical characters of the Wit Bier. (Poured from a 33cl bottle)
Aroma of white bread, wheat, lemon. Muddy-straw color, with good persistent foam. Taste like wheat and lemon. Medium body, smooth finish, high carbonation.
Robe blonde pale, mousse crémeuse qui ne tient pas et belles bulles. Nez levure avec notes de banane. En bouche c’est la levure qui domine avec du fruit banane, citron et abricot. Le houblonnage est léger, l’amertume douce et légère, légère acidité. Le corps, la longueur moyens, bonne carbonisation. Une belle blanche belge classique.
From tap at Onder de Ooievaar 23.10.21. Cloudy straw colour. Fine white head and lacing. Strong aroma and taste of wheat, pale malt, coriander and ripe bananas. Full mouthfeel. Good!
Ordentliches Wit, schön Orange und Koriander bei ohne zu heftig zu sein. Leicht crispy, schöner anhaltender Abgang, passt.
Einem Laden in Amsterdam gekauft.Aroma: Hefe, Banane, Weizen. Geschmack: moderate süße. Hefe. Banane, Karamell, hopfen.leicht cremig.
Aroma is light citrus, hay, weizzen. Taste is fairly thin but very enjoyable mouthfeel, slightly oily, apricot. Finish is mellow, sweet.
Sweet white beer
Very nice for the style. Sticks out due to its round full body. Very easy drinking. Tik proefokaal Amsterdam
Blond bier met voldoende koolzuur. Geur hooi, citroen. Smaak citroen, mout, hooi, vanille. Licht droog mondgevoel. Nasmaak zoetzuur, een vleugje hars. Citroen overheerst.
Hazy light yellow color. Huge head. Pleasant herbal aroma with coriander and some citric fruits. Smooth mouthfeel, slightly oily. Tastes quite light, a bit watery, but the flavours are nice. Spices, coriander, citric fruits again, all well balanced. Hint of vanilla also. Slightly dry finish. All in all, a tasteful, very accessible summer beer.
Aspecto rubio claro, translúcido. Espuma escasa, fina, delgada, pasajera.
Aroma discreto, muy discreto, a mango y manzana verde.
Sabor muy agradable, con tono lupulado constante acompañado de un ligero sabor a mango dulce, con acidez medio, amargor suave, tostión baja.
Cuerpo suave, altamente carbonatado, con sensación refrescante, remanente oleoso y astringencia notoria pero pasajera.

Taste starts light to medium sweet grainy, following is yeasty, bready, citrusy and spicy, mouthfeel is crisp, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Lekker zacht niet bitter
Bottle. Haven't had this since having it on tap at the brewpub. Pours light yellow, somewhat hazy. Aroma is malty, wheat, hoppy, bright, fruity. Medium body. Flavour is smooth and mild, malty and sweet. Estery but not too much. Good.

33 cl fles. Wazig blond bier met wit schuim. Geur: mout, tarwe, koriander, citrus, witbiergeur. Smaak: zacht, licht zoet, granen, tarwe, ietwat citrus. Medium koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: iets droog, licht zoet.
Robe blonde pâle limpide, mousse légère blanche crémeuse qui ne tient pas malgré les belles fontaines de bulles ! Nez où domine largement la levure avec des esters de banane, levain, paille, blé. Bouche où la levure domine et qui apporte des notes fruitées de banane et d'abricot, la base de blé ressort bien et le houblonnage est léger et apporte une touche d'amertume. Corps moyen, longueur moyenne, légère acidité, bonne carbo. Blanche belge classique très bien réalisée.
