't IJ Natte

't IJ Natte

After the ‘Zatte’, this is the oldest beer from Brouwerij ‘t IJ. Natte is classed as a ‘dubbel’, a Belgian category of smooth, dark beers. Because we partly use dark malt, Natte has a reddish-brown colour and a smooth, roasted flavour with earthy tones of brown sugar, nuts and plums. Completed with slightly bitter hops, this is a nicely balanced beer and one of the brewery’s classics.

3.4 Bottle at home, dark brown beer, small head. Aroma is sweet, malt, light roast, fruit, taste is the same, bit nutty, fruity, sweet, with some bitterness at the end. not bad.
3.4 On tap at ‘t IJ, pours a hazy dark rusted red with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, toasted chestnuts, Belgian yeast, and a little dark fruit. Flavour is along the same lines, bringing out plenty of toasted chestnuts, caramel, bready malt, and Belgian yeast. Nicely balanced and not too sweet. Solid.
2.7 Tap@Tuulensuu, Tampere, Finland. Medium, averagely balanced nuances of sweetish dark fruits and some grains in a bit artificial fashion. Some earthy notes. Medium taste spectrum and medium aftertaste with dark fruits. Medium/light body with medium carbonation. Overall, bit oddly light in all aspects: could it have been mixed with water from something stronger? 8 3 4 3 9
3.5 Good
3.5 Bottle. Brown color with a big tan head, average retention. Flavor of roasted malt, plum, light berries, some burnt sugar, grapes, nuts. Light citrus and grass on the hops side for a mild bitterness. Taste juicy, fruity, balanced, watery textrure, medium finish with sensible alcohol and leftover of roasted malt and nuts.
3.5 Brown color with small off-white head. Aroma has caramel, hay, dark malt. Taste is malty sweet with long a bit sweet aftertaste. Flavors of caramel, dark malt, chocolate, bread and yeast.

2.5 Niet mijn smaak. Te koffie /noot achtig.
3.1 Poured dark. Deep bitterness without any other characteristics.
3.3 33cl bottle from Alko. Poured dark brown color with a thick white head. Caramelized sugar, light burtness and sweetness. So e bread, sweetness, malts and some yeast. A pretty ok dubbel, although I'm no fan of the style.
3.0 Bubbly tan head left a patchy cover a mahogany coloured still body. Burnt, roasted & dark chocolate aroma. Medium bodied, soft on the palate with thinner clean back. Chocolate, nutty, berries, fruity & caramel tastes with a slightly hoppy fruity finish.
3.7 0,33 l bottle from Alko Ruoholahti, Helsinki. Nice dark Belgian style ale. Quite OK, but not special.
3.5 Bottle from Pivoteka. Dried fruit, lots of caramel, brown sugar and light alcohol, forest fruit and berries. Hazy dark amber to brown color with small sized off-white to tan head. Sweet dark fruit, caramel, toffee and some resin. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.3 Bottled 0,33L. Dark amber color witn modest bubbly and creamy/foamy head of medium resistance. Moderate malty and caramel aroma, notes of braced cereals, alcohol, hoppy and yeast. Sweet/bitter malty palate, oily to watery texture, soft carbonation, pleasant alcoholic impression, light caramel and pale malty final.
3.4 Clear brown body with a small, thick, vanishing off-white head. Aroma is pear, black pepper. Taste is malty: caramel, pear again. Spicy finish. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture.
3.0 amber. smells like candy sugar and broken dreams. very good mouthed. this definitely is not bottled contend though. spicy, bigter, sweet. meh
3.6 Bottle, 33 cl, bought in an Albert Heijn grocery store, den Hague. Overall pleasant, malt dominates, some burnt features, caramel. ABV well suited, not too boozy.
3.6 33cl bottle; BBE Oct 19. Poured at home on 22nd Feb 19. Red hue to the brown/dull chestnut body, beige head. Malty and fairly sweet with fruity esters and flavours. Nice.
2.0 Nasmaak niet lekker
3.2 Bottle @ Dutch friends. Appearance: pours clear dark brown with ok off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, bread, brown sugar, caramel, light chocolate, dried fruit, nuts and herbal/floral notes. palette: strong roasted malty and light yeasty aroma, average carbonation, medium body, average to notable sweetness, somewhat balanced by a medium bitterness, medium duration and an oily texture. Overall: tasteful low spicy dubbel
3.3 bottle bb7/19 ambrato carico nocciola buona schiuma piuttosto persistente caramello lirve toffee tendenza dolce un delicato amaro finale lieve zucchero csndito scuro
3.4 Sweet and slightly aromatic. A bit dull, not any distinguihed features. The yeast is present, otherwise ok, but not special
3.3 Bottle, 330 ml at Take Root Festival. Pours amber brown with off white head. Caramel, malty, brown sugar, some dried fruit, plums, sweet. Medium bodied with somewhat short finish.
2.7 Matig biertje, donker amber kleurig. Gekocht in Albert Heijn. Flauwe smaak, licht bittere afsmaak
