1.8Can from a Watsons convenience store, Taipei, Taiwan. A golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Vague malty, citrus aroma. Tastes vaguely malty, citrus, bitter. Really poor lager, I certainly won't go near this stuff again.
1.7Pale yellow colour minimal white head which disappears promptly; aroma of grains and some grassy notes; taste taste of malty sweetness with some sourish notes; watery lager
3.0its good to eat Chinese food due you need to eat a lot and dont get full, so you need to drink a soft beer like Taiwan beer :D
2.0Bottle pours out pale straw topped with a white head. Nose is grain corn some old dead hops. Taste is more of the sad grain grass hops and corn.
2.3Bottle at Hang Ah Tea Room, San Francisco. Pours sparkling gold with a bubbly white head. Moderate sweet rice and meal malt, no real hop character or bitterness with a dry finish. Light body and moderate carbonation.
2.1Many thanks for this big bottle to Mariusz.
2.5Can from supermarket. Golden color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, malts, a bit of toast, a bit of corn and grass. Bitter finish with citrus, malts, a bit of toast and grass. Basic bulk lager.
2.2Taiwan Beer Classic pours a clear golden color with a short-lived head. The hop notes in the nose are inoffensive and featureless, while the malt notes are somewhere between hay and white bread. The grainy attack hints at starchiness as well as steamed rice and is followed by a little grassiness from the hops. The carbonation is soft to average and inoffensive. The characterless finish is slightly acidic. Drinkable but faceless.
3.0From old tasting notes. Clear gold color. Foamy white head. Yeasty tart malt aroma. Rather sweetish grainy malt flavor. Lingering toasted malt midtaste. Very faint hop finish and aftertaste.m
1.8From a bottle. Some rice in the aroma. Lightly sweet, but overall very light, low flavo, and drinkable with food. It is not bad, just not much there to enjoy.
2.450 cl bottle at capital hotel taipei. Pours golden with big head. Mild malty aroma with Malty taste. Not much happening here.
2.4Hazed dirty golden color. Moderate sized, light beige head. Sweet aromas, with some toasted malt and apple cider. A bit of grass and almond. Fuller feel, but a touch lifeless. Sweeter flavors. Middle gains some grain and mild flora. Slightly acidic in the finish and linger, bringing back the reminders of cider.
1.8Hazy, cloudy amber pour. Mild aroma. If one is thursty - drinkable but nothing special
2.7Can 33cl. @Eva Air airplane. Clear pale golden, small frothy white head, aroma grain, corn; taste medium sweet and light bitter, watery to oily texture; okay.
2.7From 1 pint, 4.2 ounce bottle to glass
deep amber hue, medium foam, clear
Smell: not a lot of aroma
better tasting than the gold, low bitterness
carbonation comes out
good beer: not to repeat, look for
drank: January 24, 2017 10:03 PM
2.833cl can, nearly frozen. Pours a pale yellow, big white foamy head. It smells skunky and "beery". I’m fairly certain this is quite fresh because I’ve never seen it and the carton it was in proclaimed "new". It smells pretty good though once you let the sulphur die down. Smells like bread and herbs, rice, it smells fresh. Flavor isn’t as good, it is sulphury, salty, but dry and crackery, hint of maltiness. Its ok. One of the better ones in thsi style.
3.1Bottle in trade from Solidfunk, thanks for the country!
Slightly hazy light golden color with a thin wisp of a white head. Light skunk, pilsner and a touch of floral earth and faint metal. Better than I expected really.
1.7Backlog. Unmemorable bottle of beer drunk accompanying Chinese food at Hawker centre, Singapore. Macrostuff.
1.8Sampled from a can purchased in Shanghai. Crystal clear gold colour with a white head that quickly dissipates. Little aroma, and a corn syrup malt flavour. Typical Asian lager - refreshing, light and without much flavour. Watery mouthfeel and little bitterness. Some grassiness and a sweetish rice flavours, but generally rather underwhelming.
2.1Bottle at Peculier Pub in NYC. Dirty blonde pour and I mean dirty. No good nose. Tastes of grass, cardboard, lemon lime, sour milk. Not very good but still drinkable
1.8From a bottle. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Aroma of rice and corn. Flavors same. Pretty typical Asian lager.
1.8A friend brought me a can of this back. Smell is grass. Taste is pretty sweet, even after rugby practice this isn’t ideal.
1.6Canned 330ml. -Pale golden coloured, medium sized white head that went away slowly, whiff of acidity in the nose. Distinct rice taste with notes of boiled vegetables and touch of grain. Only the memory of new country remains.
0.7There is nothing ’classic’ about this beer. If you visit Taiwan, spend an additional few $NT and buy a bottle of Gold Medal / ’Jin Pai’ instead. It’s not very nice at all, and I never drink it.
2.4Can @!Sunworld Dynasty Hotel Taipei. Pale golden yellow, reasonable head. Resin vegetable malt aroma. Vegetable flavour. Bland aftertaste. Nasty lager.
1.6500ml can from a 7/11 in Jinmen, Taiwan on 17 Nov 2015. Pours golden yellow with a dissipating white head. Aroma of malt and cardboard. Sweet finish a little bitterness.
2.0Bottle from Mitsuya’s. Clear gold with a small white head. Light grain and corn aromas with some grassy notes. Average carbonation with a slight grainy mouthfeel, but mostly watery. Easy drinking. No off flavors. Typical pale lager.
2.8Gift from Wendy. Clear yellow, small lacing shite foam head. Kind of sweet aroma and taste, must be the rice added. Not bad actually. (Velp 201512)
2.8Light beer with not much in the way of flavor. A little sweet and nothing interesting.
1.4Can from a local shop in Taipei. Clear light golden with a white head. A typical boring Asian Lager. Thin and sweet with cardboard, light fruit and metal. Really boring.
