3.3Some decent roasted maltiness, light sourness from raspberries. Some dried fruitiness . Moderate tartness with light sweetness. Decent, but one time try
3.5330ml bottle, b13, bought at Systembolaget PK-Huset. An off-white head leaving spotty lacing down the glass. Near black in the glass, a deep ruby shade to it. Black and red berries on the nose, dark malts beneath. Well blended taste of raspberry, blackcurrant, and black coffee. Sweet and mid-tart malt-berry finish, long-lived. Fine depth. Quite exciting this one. (Hotel room, Stockholm 28.07.2018).
3.9Tap at UjH Taproom. Dark brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma is tart, woody, some barrel, hints of vinegar, cherries, lots of raspberry. Taste is jammy, sour, woody, burnt, raspberry. Medium body, average carbonation. Really nice sour, well balanced and well covered alcohol.
3.9Bottle thanks to tarmo. Pours almost black, beige head. Aroma : roasted, raw coffee beans, chilly. Taste : sourish, dark berries, plums, dried fruits. Medium body. Nice.
3.1Bottle. So, despite being 2 years out of date the beer is certainly passable. There is great raspberry backing to this sour stout. Quite nicely done and I'm sure it has suffered over time.
3.7Bottle at salty... Dark brown Thin tan lacing.. Soft tart raspberry fruits.. Dark roast meaty malts nose.. Heavy chocolate roast malts... Tart raspberry chocolate roast malts nose
3.4Bottle. Dark brown red. Thin brown head. Medium sourness. Medium body. Aroma and flavour is cherries, wood, balsamic, blueberries.
2.4Tasting at Matt’s
Dark brown color. The aroma is quite earthy, olives. Moderate acidity, some berry character, mild residual sweetness, but the earthy character and the liquorice really don’t belong here.
2.8Aromas ácidos y a leva
Aspecto turbio y espuma poco persistente
En boca ácida y ligera
3.3330ml bottle @ Matt’s. Pours black with thin off-white head. Nose is tart raspberries and chocolate. Flavour is tart, a sourness without the raspberry character, unsweetened bitter chocolate, and a light toasted finish.
3.2Bottle -.Dark light soured roasty malts and raspberry. Dark brown with a small brown head. Soured very acidic cocoa malts. Raspberry may be there but acidity hides it.
2.3330mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out tart raspberries, a little vomit, and bitter cocoa. Flavour is fairly tart, with plenty of tart raspberries, moderate acidity, toasted malt and vomit. Tart raspberries on the finish, but it’s pretty one-dimensional. It’s barely drinkable.
2.7Dark brown. Not much head. The aroma is acrid, burnt stout with a touch of raspberry. Tart, still with that acrid note, though it’s not as pronounced. The berry comes across with some sweetness. Pretty rough.
3.1Mystery leaking bottle. Darkest brown, low head. Light oxidized roast and berry aroma, fairly meaty. Lactic sour, good bunch of dark and specialty malts, light raspberry tartness. Sparkly, foamy, medium body, chewy. Copper oxide finish.
3.0Bottle, many thanks konstifik! Brown color with small heat that disappears quickly. Aroma is raspberries, chocolate. Taste is raspberries, chocolate, tart, lacto, umami, metallic finish. High carbonation. Reminds me of one of jonas’ homebrews.
3.0(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 2018-01-31, from Systembolaget, 20170420) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, nearly white and fizzy. Aroma had sweetness, raspberries and a hint of burnt malts. Palate was medium bodied with high carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, raspberries, sourness, sweetness, chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was sour, tart and bitter. A confusing sour brew. The raspberry notes were nice but there were also too many unbalanced and unpleasant parts.
3.5Bottle from systembolaget Sweden. Semi lasting light brown head. Dark red brown color. Roasted and light liqurish aroma followed by a mild raspberry fruity aroma. Mild roasted malty taste with balanced acidity and low fruity taste. Dry finish.
3.6Bottle. Dark brown muddy pour. Aroma of raspberry, soft tart, roasted malt and chocolate. Taste has tart raspberry, sourness, roasted malt, chocolate and a bitter fruity finish. Way too much co2, really annoying and it spoils the nice flavor a little. This has potential, the carbo is a problem though.
2.9I’m rating this one as a stout.
Full on 4 finger tan coloured head (with some of it exploding out of the bottle).
Dissipated to a 0 very quickly.
Very, very dark maroon coloured beer.
Aroma is mostly sour raspberries and barnyard with hints of tobacco, cocoa and toffee.
Taste has a solid coffee, chocolate and earthy backbone quickly followed by funky, sour raspberries.
Pretty thin and not much going on after the initial sour kick in terms of mouthfeel. Dry like a red wine.
Overall, an interesting take on a stout! Or is it an interesting take on a sour ale? I would’ve liked this to be mainly a stout with a hint of sourness in it and not the other way around like it is now. I like Tempel Brygghus though, and will continue to try their weird but thought-provoking combos.
3.433cl bottle @Cimmeria,Oviedo. 26-10-2015.
"3ª cata RateBeer Asturias".
BBD: 08-2016.
Framboise nose. Pours black with nice tan-reddish head. Moderate head retention, poor lacing. Mdium body, average carbonation, crispy texture.
2.7Bottle (thanks fatphil). Street tick from the bottle. Aroma is sour, berries, raspberries. Flavor follows the nose. Body is thin. Overall: drinkable.
3.1330ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Straight from the bottle as street tick. Alcohol, fruity, sour, raspberries and twigs in aroma. Black currant, twiggy, sour and raspberries in taste. Sour and twiggy in aftertaste. Some alcohol too. Kind of drinkable brew.
3.1Street tick, shared by Phil, thanks! Smells like black currants and raspberries. Flavor is tart, somewhat thin, lots of berries. Strength is definitely there, just not much booze in the flavor.
3.4330ml bottle - thanks SaintyMatty!
Dark, with a dark head. Who am I kidding, this was a street tick. Big raspberry aroma, some tartness, even sour hints. Crazy marmotey taste (anna gets more tart berries than Marmite). Blaccurrant and raspberry. Full sweet palate that’s a little slick and a bit heavy. Can’t taste the alcohol, but you can tell it’s strong. Kinda nice on a hoary winter’s night.
3.3Very dark brown, airy beige head. Raspberry aroma, slightly vinous with some sourish notes. Sour raspberry flavour, some light roasted notes. Fluffy mouthfeel. Interesting. Long, sour raspberry finish.
3.7Bottle, 8.3%. Gusher. Fruity aroma, some old rag. Very dark brown colour. Perhaps black, and seems unclear. Small dark brown head. The flavour is citric, vinous and fruity. Roasted finish. A little funky, but not too much. Too high carbonation, I think. The raspberries come through nicely, actually a very distinct raspberry note, very well done. Thin mouthfeel. A very interesting beer, and almost as good as it is interesting.
3.6Bottle. Gusher. Pours hazy dark brown with airy tan head, leaving laces on the glass. Clear aroma of raspberries with mild notes of yeast and hops. Vinous and razzy flavour with estery and roasty notes and touches of coffee and hops. Vinous and roasty aftertaste. Decent.
2.8Helt klart annorlunda. Väldigt sur, artificiell körsbärssmak, lite torr, viss sötma. Kul o prova men ingen favorit
