3.5 On tap at Burgatory. Decent fresh hop aroma with resin, citrus, and grass. Mild sweetness with a bit of carbonic acidity. Hazy golden amber with thin off-white lacing head. Medium body and carbonation. Starts dry with light carbonic acidity, medium heavy hop bitterness. Resin, piney. Bit of caramel malt sweetness. Big bitter finish that recedes to a light orange-nutty bitterness. Mild astringency.
3.9 Really impressed with this session ale. Pours a lively pale golden color with a wife foam head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, and earthiness. Light sweet citrus taste with a gentle hop hit and caramel toes on the backend. Light and refreshing. Well balanced.
3.0 Bottle. Bright gold pour, white head, some retention/lace. Aroma of citrus/grassy hops, grain, caramel. Taste is moderately bitter, citrus/grass, earth, light grain. Palate is dry, high carbonation, a bit astringent, bitter finish. Must be an older bottle since this is a summer seasonal; I would bet this is better when fresh.
3.1 Hazy mid-orange with a white head. Aroma was light citrus and bright fruits with a backing of malts. Medium bodied. Flavor had citrus, light orange, toast, floral notes. Not much going on here. I applaud the sub-5% attempt, and this one isn’t bad, but it’s easily forgettable.
3.4 From a bottle poured a straw color with a fair amount of head. Light hoppy malty flavor with a quick finish.
3.0 Gift from SJ. It’s a simple brew, but....it has a the right amount of orange peel, pine, caramel malts and bite to make it very enjoyable for low 4.5% beer. The name fits the brew "Easy Rider". It’s very easy to drink.
3.8 Bottle. Hazy golden color, thick white head with good retention. Aroma of fresh grass, lemon, light scallions is detectable across the room. Taste is bitter grass and subtle anise. Nice.
4.5 Had this on tap. Decent amount of head, smells somewhat hoppy but not really pronounced. Earthy hop taste.
3.5 Pours a hazy orange with a sudsy white head that lingers. Aromas of floral hops, citrus, and more hops. Taste is also packed with a big hop character and has a bit of pine/grassy notes as well as a bit resiny. Finish is dry and the bitterness lingers for a sec but not long. Probably the most complex beer I’ve had that’s abv is as low as it is. Not bad.
3.5 Very surprised to see this classified as an amber ale. This is clearly closer to an APA or even to an IPA. There’s a strong hop aroma that overshadows the malt. The balance is closer in tasting but the beer is definitely more hoppy than malty. Exceptional head. A bit too thin but a exceptionally nice dry finish.
3.3 Bottle... Mostly clear golden ale with a mid-sized, fragile, white head. The bouquet furnishes juicy citrus fruits and a delicate note of pine. Light to medium bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Well-balanced, but leans slightly bitter, offering a blend of citrusy bitterness and biscuity sweetness. Short, crisp, refreshing finish.
3.7 Bottle. A hazy straw pour with a smallish off-white head. The pungent aroma is comprised of weed, grapefruits, citrus rinds, caramel, rosemary infused olive oil, and buttery toasted bread. Goes down fairly medium-bodied and kinda crisp. Caramel and buttery toasted wheat bread upfront taste-wise. The finish is slightly sour/tangy with an abundance of lemons, oranges, and bitter grapefruits. A tad oily here and there with some hints of rosemary. Weedy. Piney. Resiny. Grassy. Interesting.
3.6 Shared from a 12 oz bottle shared at with friends. Pours a greenish gold with a white head. Light hop aroma. Bready notes. Mild bitter finish.
3.4 12 ounce bottle pours an amber color, aromas of light citrus, hops, some light pepper, and some grain. Flavors are the same, more citrus in the flavor, a little bitter in the after taste, decent beer overall.
1.7 Oxidized, low american hop aroma, also with low malt profile, yet sweet, has grassy unrefined hop flavor, dull, unfefined. I think this would be better fresh on tap. Oxidized.
3.4 Nice frothy white head of varying sized bubbles. Nice fruity and hoppy aroma with some white grape, pepper and some soft grainy malts. Color is a bright golden copper. Very bitter and fruity flavor with oranges, grapefruit and grapes. Some more grainy malts and a bit of chalkyness like you would find in a wheat or rye beer. Rather thin body with a pretty substantial bitterness. Finishes dry and bitter with lingering grapefruit. A ok brew that I would classify as an IPA.
3.7 Pours a golden copper amber with a medium off white head with some light lacing. Aroma and Taste is of floral pine hop, citrus fruity notes, orange peel, with some biscuit malt, and caramel sweetness and mild bitterness. Palate is a medium body with moderate carbonation, nicely balanced sweet bitter notes on the tongue, smooth drinking. Finish is a nice combination of floral pine hops, sweet caramel malt and some flavorful citrus, orange peel fruity notes. Overall a very good, smooth and flavorful brew
3.0 from notes - not a super fan of this one. Pours a faint read, mostly yellow straw to gold. Flavor was straw with faint hops, mildly malted. Flavor has hoppy presence with light sweetness. Light to medium body with light lacing. Wasn’t a big fan, personally.
3.7 Twelve ounce bottle poured into a tulip glass. Golden hued color with small one finger head that dissipates after about 3 minutes. Nice citrusy lemon aroma. Tastes of light sweetness with citrus. Slight hop bitterness. Thin mouthfeel but smooth easy drinking ale. Great hot summer day beer.
3.3 The nose is soft, a bit difficult to tease out, mostly hops, with abit of citrus rounded out with a fresh plant scent. Pours with a tiny bit of haze, mostly gold with a little orange, and a white head. The taste maintains balance throughout, just the right amount of bitterness to balance it while remaining sweet. I found it surprisingly full bodied, with a fizzy pop in the middle that settles out on the tongue. There’s also a bit of a fruity undercurrent, something like grapefruit. So you get pretty much what it says on the tin, an easy to drink session ale with a bit of hop character. Hard to say no to it, good execution on a straight forward idea.
3.4 Bottle shared by Dogbrick at Septoberfest V: Septoberfest Rises on 9/29/12. Clear gold/amber pour with a thick white head. Malty nose with grassy hop notes and some sweetness. Malty flavor with a grassy hop finish.
3.5 bottle. amber with dense one finger head. robust hops pack a lot of flavor, both citrus and pine. pretty light bodied, despite all that flavor. nicely done.
3.6 Pours a slightly hazed golden-orange into the glass, with a wispy diminishing head that leaves soapy lacing. The nose is of fresh citrus and pine, in a refreshing aerated delivery. Flavors of grapefruit, orange and piney hops abound, but in a subdued, sessionista offering. Nothing feels watery nor neglected in any way. A lightly floral finish closes the pull on a crisp palate. Not heavy, this brew is a nice kin to higher gravity American offerings, but pulls its own weight in each category. Prost!
3.6 Hazy pale gold. Citrus and tropical fruit nose. Light body, spicy with some citrus, finishes dry.
3.5 Pours a hazy yellow-amber color with a medium frothy off-white head that diminishes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of hops, citrus and sweet malt. Light, crisp body with flavors of citrusy hops, grainy malt and a bit of pine. The finish is sweet caramel malt up front and leaves a short mildly bitter hops aftertaste. Decent all around.
3.1 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very cloudy peach color with a large foamy white head that lingered and left no lacing. The aroma was a bit dry with notes of lemon, orange, perfume and pine. The flavor was bitter and tangy with notes of orange, papaya, mango, lemon and sugar. The finish turned a bit dry and has lingering mixed candied tropical fruits. Medium body. Pleasant.
3.8 Bottle. Another nice offering from Terrapin. Nice hazy golden color great citrus taste with just enough bitterness at the end. It went great with Thai food.
3.8 Pours orange hued amber with white head and tons of lace. Nice hops aroma, predominately citrus. Taste is citrus, light malt sweetness, hop bitterness. Easy drinking light body, dry palate.
3.4 Clear light amber color with ivory sheen. Nice dank, floral, spicy hop aromas. medium body. Floral, spicy bitter hop flavors with some caramel, honey biscuit maltage--good
3.3 Pours hazy, lemon-gold with a creamy, off-white head. Scent is grapefruit....hops. Taste is more piney, yet still a citrus hint. Lighter than it seems at first.....very easy drinking. Nice hoppiness without an overkill bitter. Pleasant beer.
