Terrapin Pumpkinfest

Terrapin Pumpkinfest

Pumpkin beers have been an American tradition since the pilgrims hit Plymouth Rock while Oktoberfest beers have been brewed in Germany since not long after Prince Ludwig got hitched in 1810. Now Terrapin is “carving” out our own special brew by combining these two great styles into a unique PUMPKINFEST beer...This Side Project has all the complex maltiness of a great Oktoberfest lager with the delicate spiciness of grandma’s fresh baked pumpkin pie.

Formerly Terrapin Side Project Pumpkinfest.

3.0 Amber color with big head. Fall spices and subtle pumpkin on nose. Would gace appreciated a bigger aroma. Medium body, smooth nouthfeel. Sweet malts mainly in taste with some fall spices which linger on the tongue. One of the more forgettable pumpkin beers.
3.5 Appearance: pours with a large dark beige head, the beer is a very nice amber color with hues of ruby, very clear, Aroma: pumpkin, a warm spice, Taste: sweet maltiness, has notes of pumpkin as well, no bitterness Palate: average carbonation, medium mouthfeel, minimal pumpkin aftertaste Overall: this is a nice easy drinking beer, it's sweet with out being so sweet that it'll make you sick, pumpkin is the dominant aspect
3.0 This pumpkin poured a med/Amber colour with a nice tan, foamy head. Scents include spice, pumpkin and sweet malt with a touch of ripe fruit. First swig was a little watery with flavours of pumpkin and hops. Finish was bitter with spice flavour lingering.
2.8 Bottle: Copper-amber body, completely opaque & almost muddy. Small, gray head fades quickly to a thin collar. Aroma is heavily spiced; nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, a bit of toasted malt. Flavor is basically the same, heavy on the nutmeg & cinnamon with undertones of allspice, clove, white pepper. Thick, malty base, finishes with notes of heavy caramel sweetness, toast, toffee, & a bit of chunky yeast. Slightly sticky body. Decent at best.
3.9 This is a great pumpkin beer that has all of the spices and pumpkin bits. Good finish. Dark color.
3.5 older bottle-aroma is cinnamon, a little clove and nutmeg, pumpkin juice, and nice dark bready bock background-balanced as if it was baked together--flavor is full bodied bock with cinnamon, smoother spices, and vegetal background - if you think you’ll like a good bock with smooth, mild, toasty spices, this is it...
3.4 Orange pour from bottle at home. Very nice aroma - pumpkin, cinnamon and spices. I think held this too long. Tastes a little off after 4-5 months - still can tell it is a decent brew
4.5 Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Definitely smell the pumpkin and cinnamon along with some malt. Appearance- Pours a murky orange color with a small white head. Taste- The pumpkin and spices come through with the flavor. a very nice Pumpkin beer. Palate- A medium bodied beer with little carbonation. Overall- Another good beer from Terrapin.
3.5 Pours clear orange-amber with a 2-finger bone-colored head. Aroma of pumpkin pie, specifically pumpkin and nutmeg, maybe allspice too. Medium body with a mild finish. Flavor matches the aroma, with notes of pumpkin and the above-noted spices.
3.2 On tap at Edley’s in Nashville. Pale orange color with minimal head. Decent pumpkin aroma on top of a rather basic beer. I’m kinda surprised by the high ratings for this one. It’s good and drinkable, but nothing stand out or special.
4.1 Good tasting beer. Faint pumpkin pie aroma. Nice clove / ginger finish. Too bad this is seasonal. I'd drink it more often.
3.7 Bottle: Cloudy, orange-brown with a small beige head. Pumpkin, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg aroma. Strong, pumpkin, dough, the usual spices..... A really nice pumpkin beer.
4.1 12 oz bottle from Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh. One of the better Pumpkin beers I’ve had in the last few years.
3.4 Bottle from the source. Lots of spice in the nose here - everything you would expect and want in a pumpkin beer. Clove, coriander, allspice. Taste is the same. Lots of aromatics at work along with a sweet, malty ale. It’s pumpkin pie in a bottle!
3.4 12oz bottle in a stemless glass. Pours deep amber/copper with an off-white head. Aroma of pumpkin pie spices especially ginger and nutmeg, some pale and caramel malts, hints of fruitiness, notes of floral hops, and some dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent beer.
3.5 Bottle shared by a friend. Clear amber pour with a thin beige head. Aroma of ginger, cinnamon, malt and caramel. Ginger and malt flavor with some cinnamon before a spicy finish.
3.4 not much aroma - faint toffee malt. nice darker pumpkin/orange pour. taste was more of an Oktoberfest than pumpkin - which is fine. slight earthiness with slight spice at end; better as it warms
2.9 12oz bottle pours a slightly hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is cidery and of lots of spices. Taste similar to aroma with some bitterness kind of watery. Not my thing.
3.2 Bottle. Clear amber. Cinnamon spice and pumpkin aroma. The taste adds graham cracker. Very thin texture with a light body. Basically a standard pumpkin ale like all the rest, but with the potential is there to make this one bigger and better.
3.2 Draft at the Filling Station in Miami. Pours orange amber with an off white head. Sweet malty base, some breads sweetness, moderate pumpkin spices, and a malty sweet finish. Not bad.
2.8 Drank from a pint glass poured from a twelve ounce bottle purchased at Wegmans.Pours a delicious amber color with mild headwith little carbonation but still leaves a tickle on the tounge. A decent pumpkin beer would totally have this again.
3.3 Above average pumpkin with the right amount of balance between malt body and pumpkin spices.
3.5 Pours a clear copper color with a white creamy head. Aroma of pumpkin spices-cinnamon, cardamon, with caramel and hint of pumpkin. Well-balanced flavor with pumpkin spices, toffee, and some pumpkin. Quite nice.
3.6 Bottle at Craig’s. Pours amber with a thin off-white head. Aromas of spice and roasted squash. Taste is sweet, spicy. Finishes sweet. Not bad for a pumpkin beer.

3.4 bottle at home ...copper ... thin white lacing ... soft sweet spice fruit ...soft pumpkin nose ... soft fruits ... ligth spice ... long soft pumpkiny fruit
3.3 Bottled from warehouse package...obviously spiced but still very hoppy...not as bitter as other Terrapin beers....smoother, but still leaves a clean palette like an IPA
3.7 Spicy on the nose. Not a exactly a pumpkin pie taste, but more of a pumpkin cookie. Overall, a pleasant beer for the season.
3.6 Bottled. Orange pour white head. Cinnamon nutmeg, graham cracker etc. Pretty good pumpkin Brau.
