3.4 On tap at the airport location Pours clear golden with a small white head, good lacing. Grassy, floor, herbal and medicinal Ok
3.7 Can. It poured a hazy yellow color with a white head and minimal lacing. The aroma a is citrus - lemon, pineapple and passion fruit. It is mildly bitter. Very drinkable.
3.3 12 oz can. Smells of resinous pine. Pours an orange tinted color in the glass, fairly clear. Taste is well balanced, from the smell I was expecting more bitterness. Has a nice piney taste up front, quite crisp. Fairly dry, I can't pick out the malt sweetness. Bitter finish.
3.0 12oz can. Boring, bland Session IPAs are among my least favorite beers. This isn't the worst example, but doesn't quite nail it either. Massive, foamy white head on top of a filtered yellow-orange body. Medium bodied. Hops are more resinous and piney than juicy or tropical. Decent enough balance. Not that impressive overall.
3.7 Aroma is a mix of fruit, citrus and tea. The flavor is fruit/citrus, grapefruit, malts and a dryish/slightly sweet finish.
3.1 Bright yellow gold color.,foamy white head. Fragrant tropical fruit hop aroma. Some caramel malts as well. Complex bready malt palate with subtle citrus hops to boot. Very quaffable and full of flavor.
3.8 It pours a golden color with a large white long lasting head. It has a nice hop aroma. I smell pine, grapefruit & melon. I taste melon, pine, citrus and a little lemon. I enjoyed this beer.
3.9 12 ounce can into pint glass, best before 7/4/2018. Bit of a gusher can. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with decent strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, honey, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.7%, Overall this is a delicious session IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful with an impressive malt body for the ABV from Victory malts; and I loved the Centennial, Zythos, Amarillo, Galaxy hop profile as expected. Juicy/light dank hops, balanced malts. Not overly bitter or malty either way. A very enjoyable offering and impressive style example.
3.1 Found in can from Ingles. It's alright. More middle of the road for the style but certainly drinkable. Maybe more of an early summer beer.
2.8 slight grass aroma, hazy with thin head. Sharp taste with citrus and little to no hops. Oily mouthfeel.
3.0 12 oz. can. Pours pale gold with a white head. Aroma and taste of mild citrus, light malts, caramel and floral notes. Not too exciting.
3.7 Very light body and flavor. Easy drinking. Tasted at my 2018 Whale Slayin' share.
2.8 Sampled at Gregwilson’s. Clear golden with white foam. Minimal hop nose. Flavor is sharply bitter but not really flavorful. Thin. Floral.
3.3 Strong aroma, light bodied but Enough flavor to make it a flavorful Session IPA.
3.7 Mix 12 pack for super bowl in honor of patriots previous victim. Light orange pour. Nose is piney bitters. Taste of pine, light malt, some lime, lemongrass. Medium bitter. Not bad.
2.1 Drank directly from a can so I assume its somewhat pale colored ale. Its recreation right? Why bother to seriously rate it? Drink it right from the can snapping it open the moment it falls intah yer hanz. Poppin the lid I swear I smelled a fleeting sharp pine, but now its faded. Taste is medium IPA. Quite punchy bitter pine like stuff. A little veggie at times. It is veggie like, considering the low %. Put away yer smardfone and go warthirz no bars, dude. Perhaps a little refreshing in the end.
3.4 Can shared by friend pour clear avg gold with thin white head. Nose citrus and floral. Taste strong floral, almost hibiscus. Slightly watered down mid palate.
3.1 Can. Little bit hazy golden color, white head. Aroma has some malts and some hops. Malty body, light hops and bitterness. Not so ipa, easygoing.
3.0 Can. Pour is orange/yellow with an off-white head. Notes of pine, citrus, grapefruit, and a bit of lime. Finish is light caramel malt and water.
3.2 12 oz can. Pours slightly opaque golden in color. Aroma of citrus, grain, hint of pine. Flavor of citrus, pine, grain.
3.5 12oz can. Pours lightly hazed golden-orange with a thin off-white head. Nose is tropical fruits with some grassy hops. Flavors are more citrus-centric with hops and some light sweetness. Light bodied, but crisp and balanced. Really nice session IPA, something you could drink pretty much drink all day and not be worse for the wear.
3.2 Appearance: clear pale gold with one fat finger of rocky white head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, patchy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: grapefruit, pine, biscuity pale malt, earth, garlic, hint of coffee. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Palate: light body, moderate carbonation, crisp lightly bitter finish. (3/5) “RecreationAle,” huh? What d’ya get when you move up to a stronger brew? “ProfessionAle” or MedicinAle”?. This… is odd. It starts off brightly hoppy, with lots of citrus and pine, but that fades rapidly, leaving behind earth, onion and garlic, and most puzzling of all, a hint of coffee. I first rated the aroma as an 8, but by the time I was done, it was a 4 or 5 - so, split the difference and call it a 6. Everything else was more consistent. It’s not bad, it’s just very, very strange how the hop character changes (dissipates, I guess) so rapidly. This continues to be a slightly tricky style to get right. 4.0 Aroma: Light hops. Appearance: Color - amber with little haze. Head stable and white. Taste: Hops with very light malty character. Palate: Light body with medium carbonation. Finishes with lingering hops and minor bittering on tongue. Good.
3.2 Can from a friend. Pours an orange-yellow with a white head. Nose is sweet malt, some light citrusy hops, and some dryness on the back end. Flavor hits with some caramel in the malt character and nice citrusy hops. Not my favorite, but for a session IPA, it’s definitely up there with what it can do: lots of malt and a nice dose of hops for session IPA.
3.4 Can. Clear light orange gold color. Slight haze. Aroma is pretty hoppy, lighter malt backbone. Some floral hop notes, hand soap. Hop forward flavor, citrus fruity. Dry finish and lingering bitterness. Orange pith.
3.7 355ml Dose. Klar und golden mit mittelgroßer Schaumkrone. Honigaroma. Citrusaromen. Fruchtig. Feinherb im Antrunk. Erfrischend. Ordentlicher Körper.
3.7 Can from West Side. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam. Lots of juicy citrus with a touch of tropical fruit. Light and crushable. Good bitterness, but not overly so. Best of the KY available terrapins. Noice!
3.7 12 ounce can. Golden orange in color with some nice hoppy notes. Light malt. Citrus. Very crushable.
3.1 A middle-of-the-road example of a middle-of-the-road style. Starts with a sudden burst of grapefruit and pine, adds a teensy-weensy malt backbone hinting at grain and biscuit, then fades into a fizzy, bitter finish. Not a big fan of the session IPA in the first place, but I guess RecreationAle is a serviceable take on the style. Eh.
3.7 Can. Pours a clear light orange with a thick bubbly white head. Aroma of earthy hops, grassy hops, garlic, bready malt. Flavor of grassy hops, citrus, grapefruit, floral hops, earthy hops. Light, very hoppy, very sessionable. Tasty beer! 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)
