4.3 Tap at Flying saucer Yes! This beer is as good as its hilarious name! Pours a beautiful dark Amber color surprisingly dark for an 6.6 ipa. Taste is an awesome sweet hop with a candy finish. Sweetness really hides the higher abv. This is a solid ipa! Could use a bit less sweetness and a little more hop bite. Other than that yes please to another!!
3.6 I’ve been sippin’ on that green all day! Tulip pour = smart. Nose is loads of sweet caramel and orange zest. Pour is blood orange colored with a good fluffy off-white head. Taste is mainly sweet, caramel malt backed by plenty of citrusy hops. The sweetness hits you upfront and finished with a long bitter note to balance things out. Good brew and very drinkable.
3.3 Draft at the Nook. Amber in the glass with a creamy off-white head that had some lasting and left thick lace. Aroma of resin hop, grass, and light malt. The flavor found light citrus resin and caramel. Light to medium body with a light hop aftertaste.
3.8 Bomber from Roy’s in Fort Pierce. Pours unclear orangey orange with some head, and some retention. Aroma has sweet hops and citrusy fruit, somewhat piney but quite syrupy sweet. Taste brings tangerine, sweet caramel, resin - very smooth. Finishes medium and mostly sweet. Quite hop-forward, without as much follow through as hoped, but some hop freshness certainly.
3.2 Name: So Fresh & So Green Green Date: October 15, 2010 Mode: Draft Source: Leon’s, Decatur GA Vintage: 2010 Appearance: clear copper, frothy beige head Aroma: fresh hop aroma backed by sweet malt, floral, touch of citrus Flavor: sweet malt flavor with crystal and caramel sweetness, lots of fresh hops, floral, light balancing bitterness Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 7/10; Flavor: 6/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 13/20 Rating: 3.2/5.0 Drinkability: 8/10 Score: **+ /4
3.2 Draft. Pours a golden amber with a medium-sized white head. Aroma is mildly hoppy -- grassy, resinous, a bit earthy. Flavor is quite mild -- some nice musty, grassy, resinous hops well balanced against the mild maltiness. Medium mouthfeel. Dry, slightly bitter finish. Certainly less hoppy and pungent than I expected, but still quite tasty. Would definitely drink again.
3.3 Bottle pours amber with creme colored head. Aromas are faint for a fresh hop, but some floral and citrus come through. Taste is malty with some grassiness and mildly bitter more like a APA than an IPA. Not bad, but not that interesting. There are many other Fresh Hops that I would reach for before this one. Not too hoppy at all, very mild in fact.
3.2 Clear yellow with a hint of amber, big white head, retention, lacing... more malt than hops especially notable in the flavor, a toasty sweetness, lightly dry finish, medium to medium thin body.. hops are very tea like, hey i least i learned something
3.0 Pours a clear gold with a thick white head...great lacing. aroma has a pils malt flavor with a light sweetness...leafy, tea notes. Flavor is malty and sweet with a light grassiness...bit of hoppy spice. Mouthfeel is light and finish is slightly sweet. Shoudlve used many more boxes of hops...12 wasn’t enough...at all.
3.6 Draft. Court pour with limited head. Smells of caramel and hops. Slightly hot with a lightly bitter finish.
3.2 Maybe my expectations were just a little too high. After all, Terrapin knows plenty about making a great IPA, so a Fresh Hop Terrapin IPA should be fantastic. This one was good, but not a good as I expected it to be. Nose is mostly pine and resin but seems way too faint for the style. Taste is similar - slightly bitter, pine, resin, citrus, but lots of caramel malts come through also. It’s good, but just seems too balanced and weaker than I expected.
4.2 On tap at Mac’s Speed Shop. Typical IPA type scents in here, and some decent carbonation. Head was just about completely white. Taste was very smooth, but not as much hop character that I would have hoped. Not much aftertaste. A nice IPA but not very complex and missing some of the "fresh" element they were going for.
3.4 Bottle. Pours reddish amber. Nose/taste of sweet malt, resin, dark caramel malt, pine and fresh grass. Slightly dry finish. Medium body.
2.6 Tap. Golden with foamy white head. Light toast aroma plus fresh pear. Light flavor- not too sweet, not too dry. Funny grainy end.
3.8 Amber appearance with a thin white head. Aroma is fresh hops, somewhat piney. Flavor is very hoppy, a little resinous. Could have a little more malt to balance it out, finish is a bit thin. Overall, solid beer, especially with some spicy food. Would pick it out again.
3.3 Has almost no nose but what develops is a refershing, moderately hoopy beer. Tastes extremely fresh and clean and leaves the palate quicly, which I like in an IPA. It’s not a dominator like most terrapin beers, but it is satisfying and pretty tasty. A good strong nose on this one would make it a true winner.
3.5 Strong aroma of pine/fir, sort of like being in an evergreen forest. The strong malt flavor with caramel base were predominate over a distinctly high hop presence. Very nicely blended.
3.5 From the tap poured a brown color with a good amount of head. Bitter hoppy flavor with a lingering aftertaste.
3.3 Draft. Pour is hazy amber/brown with a decent biege head, some lacing. Aroma is fresh hops: citrus/floral notes, with caramel and biscuit malt. Taste is very malt forward, biscuity, with citrus hops, and a weird vegetal/earthy note. light-medium body, average carbonation, oily texture, bitter finish.
3.5 12 oz draft pours and orange/amber color with a nice white head. Aromas of oily hops, grapefruit and resin. Oily mouthfeel with a nice bitter finish
3.6 22 ounce thanks to Debi. Slightly malty and a bit on the sweet side. Some citrus hops balance it out. Not a big Harvest fresh hop beer, but decent.
3.8 Tasted on 10/20/11 from a 650mL bomber bottle purchased at Midtown. Pours a beautifully bright, very clear amber with a thick beige head that slowly recedes to thick, uneven lace. The nose is quite hop forward, as expected, with a ton of floral and citrus notes. There are also aromas of bread malt, and a nice bit of earthiness as well. The flavor is more of the same, with very floral and citrus hops, the malts a little sweeter than I expected, a hint of soapiness, and the earthy note from the nose. The body is medium with average carbonation, a sticky texture, and a long, citrus and floral hops, with a bit of an earthy finish.
4.6 Pours a nice amber hue with big bubbles in the offwhite head. The head disappates quickly. Hoppy aromas, but earthy, herbal aromas, not flowery. Slightly malty attack which is quickly overtaken by the fresh green hop flavors. Almost honey-like sweetness on the finish. Very nice, not flowery hop centered beer.
3.1 (22oz bomber thanks to blutt59) clear amber with soapy tan bubbles. Nose of candied citrus, cream, and fresh citrus with the leaves and all. Some caramel in the nose also. Taste of caramel, biscuity, bready, nice linger.
3.2 Smells and first taste are full of hops. Underneath the hops is a basic malt taste that isn’t strong nor great.
3.4 Pours copper with a tan head. Smells resiny with some sagey undertones. Tastes of resin, spicy, some grassy hints on the finish.
3.3 Bottle. 22 oz. Split with and courtesy of Tom. Pours an amberish copper orange with a thin, spotty off white bit of laced head. Aroma is very similar to Southern Tier’s Un*Earthly; caramel malts, slight hints of vanilla and toffee, and a bit of juicy, resnious pine hops in the back. Medium to fuller bodied with a sort of chewy, sticky mouthfeel that eventually fades into the slow, smooth, slightly thin finish. Decent IPA, but I’ve come to expect a lot from Terrapin, and this was a bit of a disappointment.
3.5 22 oz. Clear copper with a lasting head. Nose is nice, but surprisingly sweet and mild blend of caramel, peppery spice and light citrus. Flavor is same blend with some tea leaf, and a bit of a minty finish. Near-medium body is smooth and drinkable. Good, but seems a bit muddled, and a bit of a disappointment.
3.6 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity fresh hoppy grassy aroma. Fruity malty grassy hoppy flavor with hints of citrus. Has a fruity fresh hoppy grassy citrus finish.
