The Sunray Wheat is a German style unfiltered wheat beer brewed with a touch of local, Georgia Coast, Tupelo honey from the Savannah Bee Company. It’s inviting banana/sweet clove like aroma gives way to a pleasant, clean finish with a hint of tartness.

3.4 Bottle. Sad to see this one go in 2012. POurs a hazy orange color, small white head. Aroma is wheat, honey, light fruits.Flavour is wheat, grass and light honwy. Some nana is there too. Good.
3.0 Crystal clear appearance with negligable head and a strong banana aroma. The flavor is mainly orange with banana. Some spiciness and honey.
4.0 Very slightly hazy pale golden pour with a quickly fading white head. Nice aroma of honey and flowers (lavender) and a hint of lemon. Flavor of honey, apple and pear sweetness with a hint of malt (graham cracker). Nice crisp refreshing finish. Light bodied and highly effervescent. No astringency. Outstanding! Another great one from Terrapin ... I could drink a LOT of this.
2.0 I am not sure if I got a bad batch, but it sure didn’t taste sweet to me like many reviews state. It had an earthy taset to me...almost grassy. I couldn’t really detect to much on the nose...not much else to say. Not one of my favorites...
3.4 Multiple bottles this summer. Typical summer wheat ale - little hops, fruity citrus smells, nothing unique or unusual here. Good enough for a hot summer day!
3.3 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium creamy head, that slowly faded to a ring. Subtle clean and refreshing aroma of light coriander, clove, and bubble gum. Taste of wheat with light spices and a hint of some hops underneath, bready yeast rounds it out with a touch of bubble gum. Nice, creamy texture with ample carbonation.
2.7 Pours golden from bottle with just a touch of cloudiness. A hint of bubblegum on the nose. A faint estery note on the tongue. Finishes kind of watery.
3.7 Hazy gold with a thin white head; sticky medium-full body with high carbonation. Aroma: bavarian weizen yeast esters of banana and subtle clove, alcohol, cake-like tupelo honey, pale malt, and a hint of wheat. Taste: cake-like tupelo honey, pale malt, grainy wheat, bavarian yeast esters, and some alcohol. I really like how the tupelo comes through with such a cake-like character —it doesn’t have the typical honey twang to it.
3.6 A cloudy, yellow pour with a white head. The aroma has notes of wheat, lemon, honey, and faint cloves. The light body has a watery texture and average carbonation. The taste is moderately sweet with a refreshing finish.
3.1 Draft @ Hickory Hops 2011, Hickory, NC. Pours a hazy yellow color with a small white head. Has a fruity wheat malty grainy aroma with weak clove and banana hints. Sweetish wheat malty grainy flavor with hints of honey. Sweetish wheat malty honey and weak banana finish.
2.0 12oz Bottle., Pours a hazy pale gold with no head. Honey and a bit of clove hit me. Medium bodied with very low carbonation. Flavor is really sweet, maybe from the honey I guess. Some yeast and clove in the flavor. Lingering honey notes. Overall a failure in my opinion.
3.3 Pours hazy gold with a thin white head that sticks around. Nice light aroma with lots of wheat, lemon, citrus. Light bodied and refreshing but still has a decent amount of flavor. Bit of sweetness, no real bitterness, light banana on the finish. A nice summer beer.
3.7 Bottle pour. The aroma produced from this beer was remarkable. Hints of sweetness and spice paired with banana and citrus to make this one a winner in my book. The taste was great too. Just the right amount of honey to make this sweet but not too sweet. Flavors of banana and citrus ride alongside the sweet flavors of honey and are followed by a wheat bitter that is quite satisfying. This beer is quite refreshing too. Worst part is the appearance. The color is nice and golden - good for a wheat beer, but the head is dead and lifeless with no lacing. Hell, it tastes good though and that’s what really matters in my book.
3.3 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear, pale straw color with a medium off-white head that fades quickly. The aroma is wheat, lemongrass, and coriander. The flavor is sweet and spicy up front, with a fairly long, sour finish. The palate is medium, well carbonated, and thick. Overall, flavorful and strong for a wheat beer.
1.8 Drank from 12 oz. Bottle...its got a decent Nose accenting citrus and flower notes... It tastes okay but its Definitely a good beer to drink after a bunch of other beers...i wouldnt drink it on a regular basis...sorry terrapin but this one Isnt as good as ur others, stick with the hops
3.8 12 oz bottle. Pour is a hazy yellow gold, no head or lacing. Aromas of coconut, hops, orange peel, hibiscus, coriander, honey, lemon drops. Taste is a nice balance of a belgian white and a refreshing citrusy pale or wheat beer, good malt profile. Not the best beer from Terrapin but refreshing on a scorching hot day.
3.7 Cloudy yellow gold, foaming head. Aroma is light, with hints of wheat, honey and banana. Flavor is dry with a tingly graininess with some soft banana at the finish and a soft airy palate, some hints at bubblegum. Not bad, sitting somewhere between an american wheat and a hefeweizen, not for a moment bland or boring. I’d like to see the idea of a german hefeweizen brewed with honey taken a little further, though, could be interesting.
2.2 Pours a hazy gold with a nonexistent head. Smells appealing, though, with crisp grass and citrus notes, plus a solid hefe background. Doesn’t start out with a sugary blitz, letting the traditional bananas and cloves do their thing. But the finish is pure Tupelo honey, thick and ultrasweet and overpowering. This beer tries to pull off something cool and complex, yet ends up a sweet, syrupy mess. Feels too slack, meaning the sugary fade sticks around forever. Just too damn sweet for much more examination. (5/8/09)
3.3 Bottle pour ---> Light, clear golden body. Nice little head and thin lacing. Scents were hops, bread, yeast and a little spice. The beer tasted overall light, but refreshingly full of light malts, wheat and citrus, with a smooth lingering bitter aftertaste. Quite the wheat beer, and is very drinkable.
2.9 Growler to go pours light gold with white head. Aromas of wheat grains some sweet citrus and almost dough. Flavor is dry and light very easy some flavors of fruit and light bread. Body is light and finish is crisp
2.7 Nice wheat aroma, hazy yellow pour. The honey adds some sweetness. A little too sweet for a wheat beer, I like them more tart. A fairly middle of the road wheat.
3.2 Bottle: Pours a hazy gold color with a nice white head. The nose is biscuity with some wheat and bready notes, clean esters and a light earthy hop note. Clean and light, I could use a bit more wheat but it’s very nice on this hot day.
3.4 Bottle, pours a light haze beer with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet grassy wheat and honey. Decent summer beer, nothing super
4.3 I think wheat beers are becoming my favorite style of beer at the moment. I seem to really enjoy each one I try. I thought this beer was delicious, crisp, clean and refreshing. Pours cloudy gold. Minimal head. Aroma of spice, banana, yeast and citrus. Mild yeast and wheat flavors with strong citrus notes and a nice touch of honey on the back end for just the right amount of sweetness.
3.4 Reviewed from notes. Pours a hazy, cloudy yellow-gold with a white head and a bit of lacing as it goes down. The nose brings forward some faint yeast characteristics with a bit of spice and banana. Good citrus and lemon notes as well. The taste brings some light wheat and yeast as well as a bit of orange and citrus. Mouthfeel is light and a bit creamy. Drinks quite well and a solid part of their lineup. 3.4 Altamonte Spring, Fl - ABC Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Pours a murky, yet sparkling dark golden with a quickly dissipating white head, Aroma is enticing with some spicy notes, a hint of lemon and a hint of cloves. Flavor is a bit complex for a wheat ale. Some nice clove accents, some yeast, spritzy lemony tartness and some breadiness. Mouthfeel has a nice does of spritz, Pretty decent.
3.2 (beer tasting @ Monty’s Krown - Rochester, NY: bottle - 12 oz) Slightly hazy golden pour with a nice and fluffy white head. Sweet and fruity on the nose with a very pronounced wheat and banana note. Mildly sweet through the flavor with a hint of that dry wheat flavor before a slightly sweet fruity finish.
3.2 Bottle. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Sweet wheat on the nose, a touch of wheat fruit, and a bit of apple. Medium bodied, sweet and a touch grainy before moving into a rather pronounced banana note. Finishes softly with more wheat, and a bit of bananas on Cheerios sort of thing. Decent and easy drinking.
3.3 Pale yellow with a rapidly vanishing white head. Citrus and honey in the aroma. Light and sweet with fruit and honey flavors. Any spice qualities are too low to recognize strongly. A bit sour with a lingering finish.
2.4 Like most wheat ales, this is sickly and depressing. It has flavors of lime and white bread. Maybe I just don’t get the style, but ew. Bottle from Midtown Wine and Spirits, Nashville.
