4.0 Canned 473ml. -from Goblet Zagreb. Pitch black coloured, medium to big brown head, coconut and chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, chocolate, coconut, vanilla and alcohol with notes of caramel. Bitterish chocolate coconut finish. 10.2%ABV
3.9 [Uploaded from backlog - 11/14/18] 16oz can from Dutch's, shared with alexsdad06 and tmoney99. I was nervous about the amount of people I shared with, knowing Bruery, but thankfully this one is a lot less sweet than expected, especially for a dessert-style beer! Pretty nice mix of vanilla, coconut, dark chocolate, and subtle bourbon barrel. Nice to sip, not too sweet, no burn but a nice mild warmth.
4.0 Can from drikbeer. Black body with a medium brown head. Chocolate, coconut, vanilla, roasted malt, bourbon, smooth. Thick body. Good.
4.3 Pint can, 2018 vintage. Roasted malt aroma with notes of coconut, vanilla, chocolate, booze, bourbon and oak. Pours deep brown with one finger of mocha brown head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt, chocolate and coconut as well as having a rich, full body and slick, luxurious mouthfeel. Finishes impeccably smooth with vanilla, bourbon, and oak flavors as well as a tiny bit of warming booze at that very end. Really nice and decadent.
3.9 Black with a brown head - Dark malt, dark fruity nutty and wood barrel aroma - Dark malt aroma with wood barrel flavours with dark fruity nutty tones - The dark malt and wood barrel flavours goes into the finish - This was good
4.2 47,3cl Can @ Beergium, Le Roeulx, Belgium. Black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, coconut, vanilla. Taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, sweet, coconut, vanilla, oak, bourbon. Full body, soft carbonation.
4.0 Very rich (common for an imperial stout) and pleasant aroma of coconut, chocolate, vanilla and soft bourbon alcohol; good balance among each others, with a pleasant and rich mouthfeel of toasted malt, a bit of peach and chocolate sweetness, chocolate syrup and a hint of bourbon; long aftertaste.
4.0 growler First nose is plain: coconut + vanilla. After first sip it become more complex and delicious. Flavour: brandy, barrel, bitter chocolate, prunes, ash, some soy sauce and dark olives brine. Sweet but not over-sweet pastry, good perfectly balanced with spicy boozy bitterness. Long warming finish. Very good.
4.0 Can at tasting. Aroma of sweet marshmallows, vanilla, candy coconut, caramel, malt and chocolate. Taste has rich sweet bourbon, milk chocolate, malt, caramel, earthy vanilla, sweet marshmallows and lots of booze. Not a lot of coconut, but the bourbon and vanilla are very nice.
4.4 Big and very dessert-like. Strong notes of coconut and vanilla with sweetness and bourbon. Great looking and full bodied.
3.8 Draft. A black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of coconut, bourbon, roasted malt, and dark chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, and coconut, leading to a bitter finish.
3.9 February 27, 2020 - bottle from my membership. Very dark pour with limited head. Aroma was bourbon, coconut and vanilla. Taste was consistent with the aroma, but also had some chocolate.
4.3 Appearance is black, with a 1-finger brown/tan head. Aroma is chocolate cake, caramel, coffee, liqueur chocolate, dark malts, hints of raisin, fruitcake, more chocolate, brownies, boozy vanilla. Taste is lots of chocolate, chocolate cake, fudgy malt, burnt fruitcake, treacle toffee, vanilla bourbon, coffee, roast malt, bitter dark chocolate sauce, hint of toasted coconut on the end. Very sweet and decadent, lovely. Mouthfeel is smooth with a slight fizziness.
4.1 29 November 2019. At Billie's Craft Beer Fest. Cheers to the lovely Anke, tderoeck, 77ships & Ghent beer crew! Hazy black, no head. Aroma of vanilla, macaroon, coconut chips, brownie, chocolate sauce, cappuccino. Taste has very sweet chocolate, candied dark fruit & cream in a biscuity character, dash of vanilla mixing with coconut accents, faintly bitter coffee & wood. Peppery hoppy finish, still quite sweet & malty, chocolate, cookie & coconut & strongly warming bourbon-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Very sweet but still balanced in its added ingredients. 9/3/8/3/16=3.9. 14 December 2019. At 2nd Great Timternational Beer Tasting. Cheers to Ghent beer crew! More apparent bourbon, vanilla, but also acetaldehyde this time. Whiff of red & green apple in the taste as well. Slightly better mouthfeel. Taking the original rating as the standard, increasing the score a bit.
5.0 Beer Number From Brewery: 6 Container Type: Can Date Drank: 24 January 2020 Purchase Location: Beer Cartel Aroma: Coconut, chocolate, bourbon, oak, vanilla Appearance: Thick, deep space black. coffee coloured head Flavour: Bourbon, oak, vanilla, rich Mouthfeel: Dense, creamy, full bodies Comments: I've been sitting on this beer for a while and at 13% ABV I'm glad that I was smart enough to share it. One of the best beers that I have had in a ,long long time.
4.5 Can, 0.473l. Aroma of chocolate, bourbon, caramel, vanilla and coconut. Pours almost black color with medium sized frothy brown head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with sweet chocolate and coconut, follows by bourbon, molasses, vanilla and roasted malt, mouthfeel is warm alcoholic, while finish is mild bitter. Full body, thick creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Bruemaster...
4.7 Can version. This is not a beer for pub drinking. Its not a beer for the football game. Its not a summertime cookout beer. There is nothing "everyday" about this beer. This is a full on, "sip by the rustic fireplace for an extended period of time beer". Its huge, full of bourbon character, resplendent with dark rich chocolate and toasted coconut, and packs a punch like an angry yak in mating season. Beautiful oak, vanilla, coconut and chocolate ooze from the glass. A long chocolaty finish is helped along by a rising alcohol heat that warms all the way down. At 12.2%, its strong, but not overly hot. Rather, its rich, moderately sweet, and has tons of umami. Decadent, over the top, but well crafted, and ultimately "worth it". Dont cheat yourself. Put those lips on this.
3.5 Desert replacement ; nice
3.9 Pours very dark brown nearly black. Thin tan ring of head. Coconut and chocolate aroma. Taste is sweet with chocolate and coconut. Candy bar in a glass. Hot and boozy. Thick feel sticks with you. Excellent desert beer.
3.5 Keg at Friends & Family beer festival, Manchester. Black with ring of head. Oily texture, quite sweet, big chocolate, some coconut, earth, ash. Nice.
Słodko i gorzko. Smaki są intensywne, mocne, a słodycz lepka. Alkohol choć przy pierwszym łyku dał o sobie znać później był już nieobecny. Wysycenie niskie. Pełnia, treściwość wysoka, potęguje ją wyklejająca słodycz. Płyn jest tłusty, gładki, aksamitny. Posmak jaki pozostaje w ustach to głównie gorzka czekolada i kawa z likierem kawowym, jest długi.
4.0 On tap. Pours a very dark brown with little head. Aromas of sweet chocolate, light coconut and slick roasted malts. Definite macaroons and coconut in the flavor. On top of a sweet chocolate and oily roasted malt base. Good carbonation and not too sticky. Pretty clean. Very nice.
4.1 Taster during a Darkest Day event. Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: bery berry, sour and sweet, lots of bourbon as well. Taste: along the same lines, bourbon bomb. Overall: very nice.
4.1 Burk. Svart med ett brunt skum. Dofter av karamell, kokos, vanilj och kaffe. Smakinslag av kokos, kaffe, vanilj, torkad frukt och sötlakrits. Oljig munkänsla. Fyllig smak. En väldigt god dessert!
3.7 Zwart bier met beperkte Mokka schuimkraag. Riekt naar karamel, proeft lekker zacht
4.3 Piwo koloru czarnego z jasno-beżową pianką. W aromacie ciasteczka czekoladowe, wanilia, kokos, pralinki czekoladowo-kokosowe, to wszystko skąpane w bourbonie. Aż ślinka cieknie. W smaku w smaku czekolada, pralinki kokosowo-czekoladowe, lody waniliowe, ciemne owoce, nuty mokrego drewna i bourbon. Intensywny waniliowy aftertaste. Sporo ciała, aksamitna i kremowa faktura, wysycenie niskie, alkohol jak na the bruery dobrze ukryty. Świetny pastry stout, wszystkie dodatki ładnie wyczuwalne i uzupełnione elegancko beczką po bourbonie. Pycha.
3.1 The Aromas are roast, dark malt, black patent, and hints of coconut and vanilla. Flavors are similar to nose, really just another sweet big Stout. Too sweet. Okay body and a very alcoholic finish.
4.0 Dark brown- black color with off white head. Black coffee, chocolate, slightly smoke aroma. Chocolate, brownie, bourbon, coffee, vanilla, bit smoky flavor. Brownie, nutty, vanilla palate, heavy body.
3.5 Pint can. Nose is coconut and chocolate. Black. Flavor is tart, with grapes, chocolate, coconuts. Very sweet to the point of expecting a diabetic seizure.
