The Bruery Black Tuesday

The Bruery Black Tuesday

Bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. Aged in bourbon barrels for over a year, this extremely rich stout has picked up flavors of vanilla, burnt caramel, toasted oak, prunes, and sherry-like oxidation.

3.1 Tap at MBCC. Pours black-dark brown. Aroma and flavor are sweet, bitter, bourbon, roast, chocolate, booze, bread, booze. Overall: okish..
3.6 From tap at MBCC 2019. Dark mahogany color with no head. The aroma is full of boozy bourbon, sweet roasted malt, molasses, brown sugar, vanilla, some nutty notes and lots of booze. Full body with a medium sweetness, a light bitterness and again lots of booze. Boozy flavor of bourbon, molasses, brown sugar, some nuts. Overall way too boozy and hard to drink. Aroma: 7 Appearance: 4 Taste: 7 Mouthfeel: 4 Overall: 14
4.2 Tap. Brown color with beige head. Aroma is super bourbon, vanilla, caramel, a bit nutty, deepest raisins. Taste is bourbon sugars, vanilla, caramel, raisins again. Surprisingly well balanced for such a Bourbon juice!
4.2 Tap @MBCC2019, Yellow Session. Clear, very dark brown. Small offwhite head. Malty, chocolate, licorice, booze. Malty, roasted flavour, licorice, chocolate, boozy kick. Lovely.
3.7 Brun uklar skum råhvid Choklade vanijle træ malt korn Bitter modrte sød modret Livlig cremet
4.7 Huge beer! 2014 version. Pours jet black with minimal head. Aroma is lots of raisin and dates, caramel and bourbon. Hides ridiculous high abv very well. Only a slight hint of booziness. Lots of dark fruits, caramel, molasses, almost a little cherry, cocoa. Awesome, complex huge beer.
4.0 07/04/2019 Opaque black beer with no/a slight off-white head. Medium/heavy aroma; taste starts medium/heavy sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, mocha, roasted malts and alcohol. 8/5/8/3
4.6 LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Heerlijk, vol van smaak, boozy, Vanille. Heerlijk!
3.4 Pour is a black as the ace of spades with no head at all. Aroma is roasted malt and booze on top of booze. Flavor is a nice roasted malt smoothness with more alcohol. The alcohol was not totally hot but there to let you know this is big. A bit too much alcohol to give this a better score. There are better Impy stouts out there at half the alcohol.
3.9 Black body no head. Aroma is chocolate booze malts. Taste is the same. Aftertaste is roasted malts booze. Nice one.
3.9 Black as the night this one. As it should be. Quite pleasant and mellow aroma with a fine intensity. Quite decent sweetness for a beer at this level. Lasting tail. Coffee, chocolate, toffee, vanilla and oak in the flavor. Boozy, but no sticky alcohol coming up. [Taster from Werkmeister]
4.2 750 ml bottle, vintage 2014, shared by Sander, many thanks! Very dark brown body, with a small, creamy, dark beige head. Lovely aroma of bourbon, creamy dark chocolate, toffee, fudge, vanilla, some soy sauce. Tastes quite similar, while very boozy. Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes boozy, dry, roasty, sweet, with dark chocolate, tobacco, coffee, fudge, some soy sauce, bourbon. Tasty! The nose is amazing, so dense and rich. Taste is very boozy, while also very rich. Outstanding, big sipper. Score: 9 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 17
3.6 Bottle. Potent bourbon smell. Deep black with no lasting head. Boozy taste but smooth and rather moreish. A touch treacley. Very nice.
5.0 Det er gude øl mums
4.0 750ml bottle via trade from mikem with a 9/18/2013 bottle date. Cellared since. Shared with ck1, BrotherWithThreeSons, BeardedBrewerH, and PracticePlastic. Big depth and thickness. Still definite heat, roast, dark fruit, caramel, booze. Unsure how this would be when young -- super hot? This is big & strong after almost 6 years cellared. 15.2
3.8 750 bought on the First Day of Christmas from the Bruery. This is a massive alcohol bomb with layers of complexity. Moderate fusal. Look forward to having this again as it was a late night celebration.
4.5 Bomber ordered through the brewery itself. This is the 2017 version. Pours very dark brown. Thick tan head. Scent is strong alcohol and sweetness. Taste is cinnamon, cherry, plums. This is a very smooth beer. Doesn't taste anywhere near 19%. Still a nice burn though. Very good beer.
4.5 Magnificent beer. Great aromas of bourbon, vanilla and oak. Nice and dark with a very thin head. 2015 version. Very smooth.
4.9 Black hue under a thin light tan head. Rich dark boozy bourbon aroma with deep cocoa and hot alcohol and brown sugar and a kiss of maple. Deep dark roasty flavor that’s hugely sweet, loaded with brown sugar and molasses and deep chocolaty depth with a hint of maple and bourbon.
4.0 From a 750ml brown waxed bottle, RBAG winter 2018. This was the 2014 version. Jesus, this is a huge beer. Oily looking deep brown coloured brew with no head. Nose - chocolate, roast, vanilla, booooooooze. Taste - huge rich liquid chocolate, dark fruit, roast, vanilla, coconut and throat warming alcohol. Thick texture. Insane. Just insane.
4.1 Wow...thanks kbudd. 2014 Fucking dark fruits, soy, rubber, some middling sourness, but caramel and alcohol are king here. Likewise with the aroma, alcohol and caramel are still king, mace, licorice, and soy round it out. Brilliant.
4.1 sticky icky oooooo-we! tons of sticky dark malt on the nose. roasty. licorice. lots of burn but a nice combination. a pleasant warm finish.
4.4 Rating #2860 2018.01.20 - #RBAGWinter2018 - Pours a jet black, some tan foam. Aroma is roast espresso, molasses, vanilla, bourbon, booze. Palate is more booze, oaky vanilla, molasses, earth. Had this on a couple of occasions (now 2014, and 2016 vintages). Nice.
4.3 Draft at ANXO, 1-19-17
3.8 2015 bottle. ruby Brown pour little head. strong booze aroma. oaky burny stuff. Ok but I don't know
4.5 Z: mieszanka bourbonu i risa. Mocniejsza beczała (wanilia, kokos) nad czekolodowo-wisniowy butami. S: gęste, kokosowo-bourbonowe, dalej wanilia, slodycz, gruba intensywność. Finisz lekko kwaskowy wchodzi w wanilię z kokos, lekkie tanicznosc migdały i orzeszki nerkowca? Takie slodko-taniczne. Momentami niesamowicie waniliowo-kokosowo-czekoladowe.
